As has been said so many times on here this season they can only use the track on a Monday night so what league does that leave drrrr.3 points

After heat 2 it's irrelevant what number the reserves are at as they get swapped around more than a Kate Middleton photo3 points

Yes, but the lack of card payments is, I believe, because they use WiFi, which doesn’t stretch to the admissions gates. You can buy your chips with a card! Maybe Stewart Dickson could put a WiFi access point on the tractor.2 points

Many, many times. Like a cracked 78rpm disc. Like the Burnley and Sheffield United supporters who currently believe they'd get access to better players and get off the floor of the table if soccer across the nation would only go to ten-man teams.....2 points

Given they don’t have card payments for entry yet, I’m guessing not. Still a lot of other things they’re working on, I think.2 points

At a guess, I would say no. I've heard or seen nothing to suggest they are going to start doing this but i would love to be proven wrong. Thankfully, I don't plan to miss many home games this season with it being on my doorstep2 points

They should have been told to not select a middle age rider from the other side of the world ( again ) who couldn't average 5 points last season and give the place to a ‘developing’ Brit , isn't that the point of this league ??? but this is how British speedway is now being run.2 points

Sheffield have started their season with Tai already riding so would get the appropriate facility? So I’m not quite sure how that is the same as Plymouth losing a rider for the first portion of the season before it’s even started? I personally think a team starting a season with only 6 riders and say having to use an NDL guest to cover it completes strips away any ‘credibility’ the sport has. I feel the sport has spent a lot of time (Mainly Phil Morris) trying to restore some sort of credibility and excitement to British Speedway recently and I don’t think it’s good for the sport to put a club in a potentially untenable position moving forward. Promoting a speedway team and making it work in this day and age seems a tough gig at the best of times and the sport has often cut its nose off to spite its face in recent years, I feel this is potentially one of those times and I’d be really disappointed if Plymouth struggled financially or otherwise due to this.2 points

Id rather see the rules followed and the sport have some form of credibility than just ignore them because someone put effort in (how much is unknown) whats to stop other rules being ignored as long as theres some effort2 points

Classic! In a day when the sport is on its arse, supporters are walking away year on year and tracks struggle to survive, the authorities would rather hang Plymouth and their fans out to dry rather than work together to provide a solution. If Saturday goes ahead it will likely be a mauling and all that does is see more supporters walk away. It will be the same in each meeting. I don’t know when Covatti may be fit but based on what I’ve seen and am aware of, this is a problem that Plymouth didnt cause and have tried every avenue they can to resolve (without financially crippling themselves) and yet the authorities are sticking two fingers up rather than offering support. Classic reaction from a body who has their own interests at the heart of what they do. It’s not the authorities fault either, I’m acutely aware of that but the lack of flexibility is piss poor2 points

Those that have lost clubs never loose hope it may take years to get it back it may never come back but, Support the sport we lost our club many years ago and since have travelled all over the Uk to watch various teams and events, since we lost ours we started a family and the sport has gained a couple of supports! Don’t give up on it2 points

It's a tricky one, I wonder what Wroclaw fans thought about the possibility of guests last season when they were heading into the play-offs without Woffy & Magic and with Connor Bailey & Charles Wright? It made the final if not a farce, certainly a foregone conclusion2 points

It’s back! So build a team upto 36.25 points and the highest end of the season average wins! Only 2 riders from each club are allowed in your team. Averages can be found on the 2024 teams thread on here or hopefully soon on the BSPL site. Previous results were: 2023: 1st Islander15, 2nd Adz_mft & 3rd Hawks1975. 2022: 1st Diamonds85, 2nd Sings4Speedway & 3rd PotteringAround. 2021: 1st Hawks1975, 2nd Islander15 & 3rd Iron Scorpion. 2019: 1st Iand, 2nd Flipper11 & 3rd DJC. 2018: 1st Hunters, 2nd SKJ & 3rd CUFC_Brummie. 2017: 1st Eagles69, 2nd Islander15 & 3rd SKJ. 2016: 1st Halifax Tiger, 2nd John Leslie, 3rd Turn Two. Good luck everyone1 point

I'm never a fan of putting a number 2 in heat 15, it always feels like too long since they last rode.1 point

Haven't got going yet? Its meeting number 2 for god sake. You really do bring it on yourself with your thick comments. Birmingham doing well fair play and a big crowd in sounds good. Hopefully hold on for a win.1 point

According to Plymouth owner Mark Philips in his p&p interview (available on fb etc), the club has til Wednesday - 72 hours before their first fixture - to make a signing in order to take their place in the League!!!1 point

Apologies I worded it wrong due to. the Eddie Kennett situation the rule book had to be changed1 point

Not forgetting the publicity machine that Jordan Jenkins is. He puts in lots of time doing school visits etc to spread the word. I've noticed a fair few Poles at the first 2 meetings, so the Magic effect is working. Nobody seems to have cottoned on yet that Oxford and Wroclaw are twinned, so that could give plenty of opportunities for more publicity.1 point

If the meeting is off it will be down to the torrential rain we've had for the last 18hours and the poor weather for the rest of the week but if the sun comes out who knows1 point

The current rider shortage of UK riders is down to one thing Grasstrack both adult & schoolboy it has become almost none exististent in the UK & that is where 80% of all British riders came from. The BSPL should work with the ACU to encourage a revival of ACU clubs to run Grasstrack meetings.1 point

It surely begs a far more serious question that is at the heart of the long term growth and future of the sport. Are the BSPL effectively "closing the shop at 15 or 16 Clubs in the professional leagues.?? Where are the riders to fill Wolverhampton, Peterborough, Swindon, Rye House, Coventry and any others who may be seeking a way back in to the sport?? 6 man teams may create 2 new teams across a league each but that's assuming an increasing number of over 35s can be adequately replaced. It's a terrifying scenario to consider.1 point

This is wrong on so many levels, Kyle is a Plymouth rider so I doubt he could guest for his own team, no facility has been granted so that isn't an option either.1 point

While it's officially "irrelevant" as riders can get swapped round. It doesn't happen that often when the weaker rider is "sacrificed" at number 6. Even if McGurk beats Hodder in heat 2, a couple of last places against Berwick's strong top 5 pairings,.could make it hard for him to get his 4th ride.1 point

Irrelevant now but should Birmingham have been allowed to carry on in the Championship on a Monday? Only Belle Vue are a Monday track, the rest race on Thursdays. Of course Prem clubs have priority, but Birmingham could've picked a team minus any Belle Vue riders. Then sorted the fixtures (not many these days) so their opponents weren't missing riders based on who is racing at Belle Vue. May have to allow the occasional guest, but who would even notice, with the amount of guests used these days anyway?1 point

Both the newcomers at 3+4 will imo surprise a lot of people, both looked good at practice and tate was never off his bike, seems to love being on a bike and a natural, a bit like a certain cumbrian GP star !! Time will tell let's enjoy this journey UTC1 point

If that`s the line up its very weak at 3 and 4 as you have two riders brand new the the league, much better to having Vissing in one of those numbers.1 point

I know guest's & rider replacement are at times annoying within the British leagues. But we cannot be compared to other nations league system where they opperate a squad of upto 20 riders but can only track 7 just the same as our programme. In both cases if a rider is injured or unable to start then of course a full 7 rider team must be arranged. With a squad this is done as in football by rotation of the squad members. Our system means each team has a nominated 7 rider team & should one be missing we track a full team using guests or R/R. At the end of the day it amounts to the same thing two teams of seven racing against each other. Weather you love or hate our system it's better to see two full sides of seven than a five man team1 point

Would Garrity even be better than Morley anyway? Not ridden for a few years. Won't have up to date equipment etc. I wouldn't pick him anyway, no matter how good he might be. Not after the crime he committed.1 point
-
Calls for a second chance for that crackhead Garrity are ridiculous. The guys a junkie who robbed old and vulnerable people. Has a big history of robbing team mates as well and being nothing but hassle as well as being a liability on track. Should never be granted a license to ride ever again and Lewy's comments must of been a wind up as nobody with half a brain would post such rubbish.1 point
