I would just like to say as a Sheffield fan who went because we didn't have a home match on Thursday I was well entertaned. I know the score looks like Plymouth to a beating but that was not the case. There was some good racing, lots of passing. Ben looped at the gate and had to withdraw from the meeting which was a shame as this put Plymouth a a great disadvantage especialy when you loose two heat leaders. The rest of the team didn't throw in the towel the stuck to the task but they were never going to get much against a quality team like Scunthorpe. As for Scunthorpe they are quality from top to bottom. Kyle is a bit of a concen as it seems he's not found his gateing gloves yet but he always gives 110%. The rider who realy stood out for me was Nathan. This is one to watch and if he manages to avoid injury I can see him putting two points on his avaerge this year. Take heart Plymouth fans with a full team and an attitude like that you will be no pushover6 points

It’s a hard sport if you can’t be competitive then what’s the point ffs. Who cares who he upsets I’m sure Ace won’t who will be next is a bit of a tasteless comment aimed towards a young kid.5 points

Worky are a massive unknown, with 3 new riders to the country and 2 who, I think it's fair to say, have blown hot and cold in the past. They really could finish anywhere, storm the league in a canter, or cut a drift at the bottom of the league, for me it's what makes them interesting to watch and keep an eye on. On last nights showing, they'll be a force to be reckoned with.4 points

What a night! After some bad luck in the first heat it looked like we were in for a long night but the Comets dug deep and really impressed especially with limited experience around the STMP. Great to have plenty of supporters making lots of noise!4 points

Cookie only gave his own honest opinion which he is entitled to do. The difference is he's not hiding behind a keyboard like many others on here do..4 points

Sadly because it fits an agenda used by a minority of the people on this platform. Sadly, this minority won't be happy until they see another club fold and close, without realising the knock on effect of such a decision. It would leave an entire region, not just a city/town - the whole of Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and Gloucestershire without a team. Just let that sink in for a minute? Millions of people without a team to support, they'd rather that happened than see the Gladiators make a good go at things. I really feel for Mark, he's constantly getting battered from all sides (including by riders from other clubs!) despite doing what he can with what he's got. People are more than entitled to their views I get that, hence why we are on a public forum discussing it however most of the time, it's not constructive, it's not helpful and it's hurtful what people say about the Gladiators.... However, it's us against the world and we're going to embrace that!! "No one likes us, we don't care... We are Plymouth..."4 points

Deserved win for Berwick against an 8 man Team.McGregor is a disgrace.3 points

It was a real shame we lost Leicester and Brum due to weather. Those two 'easier' matches would have sharpened us up before BV and Sheffield matches and may well have meant we would have beaten BV the other night3 points

Max squeezez Ace, who in turn squeezed Connor. It was a simple case of not enough room for three. Connor was slightly behind the other two and closest to the fence. He didn’t do much wrong but ran out of room, and by then, the ref couldn’t really put all four back in. Connor wasn’t happy, but Ace was never going to turn the throttle off and let a guy pass him on the outside.3 points

Was 100% true he was stuck on the m6 and was in constant contact with management wasn’t dew till 8pm according to his sat nav but his driver managed to make up a good bit of time Ace piper was ready to take his ride after he was excluded with the 2 minute rule but made it on perfect time thanks to the Edinburgh management and referee for allowing the extra time and steve Worrall for having his spare bike ready and waiting3 points

Would any of these helmet complaints made a blind bit of difference to the meeting getting rained off... No. The clerk of course would've asked the ref to cancel 2 minutes this delaying the meeting further. Bomber would probably still got the 5-1 off 15m for that matter. So it's all bluster for the sake of bluster. But given whose leading it should we be surprised3 points

Yeah thats another crazy thing. Fans are quick to complain about lack of value at speedway yet when promoters agree to delay 15 minutes to give fans as strong a meeting as they can they get hammered for that too. I cant believe I am sticking up for promotions but in this case I think they are getting unfair stick (and unlike some I speak out when I think someone is being treated badly)3 points

I know the word legend gets thrown about far too easily nowadays but the guy is an absolute legend of British speedway! I know it’s a bit of a standing joke of who is Harris guesting for tonight but one thing is sure the day he retires speedway will be all the poorer for it.3 points

No way I’m witnessing this helmet chat. What age are we? Honestly, come on. Can’t we just assume that Chris Harris has handled enough helmets - the Bishop said to the maid - to know how to put one on while adhering to SCB standards? If I’m an Edinburgh fan, my focus isn’t on finding an excuse; it’s wondering how my number one, ”Joshie”, has just been smoked by a guy who’s jumped out a van 60 seconds earlier.2 points

One of your bests posts thanks imo this sums up the comets this year, a journey I'm gonna enjoy travelling UTC2 points

1 off the best and most unbiassed posts this year workington is my nearest track and i share your view why somany wrote them off when nobody knows much about tate, anti and celina and also how troy and craig will go or how lont any of the 5 will last is a big unknown sam i think i posted early on i think he will struggle for a good few meetings before coming good much like his progress last year but he never gave in last year and deserved his chance no issues with giving celina a go but sam would have had less pressure with a stronger reserve partner im happy enough with what ive seen from the full team so far2 points

Shame Buster is too tight to buy some proper shale, could be some good racing with all the quality riders over here this season.2 points

A bit battered and bruised she got a lift to penrith on supporters bus, as she is flying to Italy in the morning for a meeting on Sunday2 points

I have just checked now. The substances were revealed in the SCB press release after the hearing. Previous press releases didn't specify.2 points

That seems a very stupid rule change to me, giving someone a second chance because they broke the rules?1 point

i thought the same till i saw replay borke did have a slight issue which caused paco to go down but the 1 where ethridge was excluded that was a clear mistake should have been all 4 back at least etheridge done nothing wrong1 point

Who cares who he upsets , without seeing last nights incident you have drawn your conclusion and came up with let’s be honest a pile off Sh!te against a 17 year old. McGregor seen fit to exclude Cole’s as the primary cause as Ace had already passed Cole’s perhaps just perhaps Cole’s spat the dummy whilst the red mist descended.1 point

Assuming the rain that’s due isn’t too bad then we should be all good for this evening. Not the best of tracks for the majority of our side and Berwick have a very strong 7 at home this year. Anything within 10 point loss would be respectable.1 point
-
Does it matter, if the track was available & riders wanted to practice, are you really gonna say no because you think Edinburgh are weak?1 point
-
Don't forget there was 6 teams racing on Friday, but just 2 on Saturday, so Berwick had more riders to choose from (plus more points). Regardless I applaud Plymouth for not paying out what they can't afford & risking the future of the club if riders are asking for big fees to guest.1 point

If that's not allowed, imagine he guested for the opposition against Plymouth lol!1 point

The answer has been given. Extortionate amounts asked for and guarantees. That'll be 4 figure, or near 4 figure sums and a minimum guarantee that's more PL level than CL. That's a problem that has been there for years, Heat Leaders used to money the Sport can't afford any more and massive credit to Plymouth for not taking the sort of risks that have seen other clubs fall by the wayside. Hopefully Plymouth can start their season enxt week after a drier spell and at least start getting some Home Match receipts in to their coffers.1 point

Rules went out the window on that one. Helmet wasn’t checked or nothing. Which I believe we did complain about.1 point

Lawson way more consistent than Kerr. You don’t always know what you’re going to get with him compared to Lawson. Would agree it strengthens the bandits a touch.1 point

Agree 100% last time I spoke out at Ashfield is when I bought a pint at the shed kiosk I drank the pint took the empty plastic tumbler back and told her that the Lager was flat. She said the tumbler was empty and your onto plums to which I replied I know it’s empty but it was still flat. I thought I was treated abysmally that’s what you get for speaking out.1 point

Very enjoyable evening at the Ecco Arena, track was great as usual, and good craic with the Redcar fans. For the Comets it was very promising to come back from a 12 point deficit, Cookie was somewhat back to his old self, 13+1 but I think he will still get better. Tate and Antti, were exciting to watch after taking a few heats to figure out the track. Very exciting prospects, who will win a lot of races as already shown at Northside. In my opinion, we have 5 potential heatleaders in this side. All 5 had at least one heat win tonight Haven’t talked about Claus and Batch yet, but Claus is really flying isn’t he. Thought he’d be in Heat 15, but Batch had another good night Celina battles really hard, and was her best showing so far. Such a determined rider Sam Mc is only learning, just like Ben Trigger is. Some stronger 2 point reserves out there but they’ll both get there by mid season1 point

The promotions agreed to delay the start. Presumably the Edinburgh promotion didn't want cheap points, and I'm sure we'd agree the same if it were the other way round. I presume the referee (or Edinburgh) said it had to be no more than 15 minutes, which is fair. Glasgow were prepared to put Ace in heat one if it came to it, but I think it was a sensible accomodation.1 point

Bomber was late, delayed the start 15 mins, moanarchs think if we hadn't would've got to heat 10 n they'd have won. Cause they'd have started at home if picko waa late.... Sure1 point

I noticed that, just the ice speedway.. Landshut in Polish third tier. League fixtures for Poland, Sweden, Denmark, also Czech, Italy, France, Norway. As it said speedway is being overtaken by flat-track in most countries. The Star is still a good magazine for what is now a minority sport, still clinging on, sales must be well below what they were 50 years ago, in speedway's heyday. We're fortunate to still see it on sale in major supermarkets.1 point

Yeah, knowing how old most of us speedway fans are, they probably need to produce a large-print version of the mag...1 point
