The simple truth is todays Speedway Promoters in general are lazy people who can not be bothered to get off their backsides and drum up support. At BV they have the best speedway track and stadium in the country BUT if you ask someone in Manchester where BV is or what’s speedway they haven’t got a clue. The promotion of BV and the sport is zero and that’s why speedway is where it is….basically bust!5 points

Safe journey to the Bandit supporters making the trip down to Poole. Hopefully it’s another away win but I’m expecting a fairly tough match. I’ll go 43-47.5 points

If it wasn't for bad luck Berwick wouldn't have any wish Bastian a speedy recovery looked a horrible crash4 points

Motorbike racing in virtually the city centre... What a concept....!!!! Let's not tell anyone though.... Shush..... As you say, sell the entertainment, and the riders personalities, rather than trying to make out what you are watching has any semblance of credibility as a bona fide sporting contest.. Give it a bit of hype and (even made up), rivalry and sell the product not the infrastructure around it..4 points

Everyone was aware that Ipswich were not at full strength last Monday and that had they been, the final score might well have been reversed. But Birmingham haven't had much luck over the past couple of seasons, so it's understandable that the home fans would be happy with the result - and despite the heavy pre meeting rain, we all saw a great match and some extremely good racing - so there were really no losers. As a lifelong Brummies man, I am outstandingly impressed with Emil Sayfutdinov, not just his riding skills but his sportsmanship and his affability as well. He is a credit to speedway and you are unbelievably lucky to have him at Ipswich. Best wishes to the Witches on Thursday. Look forward to seeing you again at Perry Barr again next Monday!4 points

That is what Max Fricke thought last night that due to this rule he would be in at Prague however Phil Morris has advised differently if Doyle is medically passed fit by FIM doctor then he can take his place in GP. The FIM regulations which the PZM have agreed to appear to allow him to ride in GPs if fit4 points

That seems very harsh on Gilkes. If they had 11 points available & signed him, you could argue it was a pointless transfer etc. But I think you're being out of order calling him a "total waste of space"3 points

Didn't they ask one of the medical team if it was OK to ride?3 points

People would prefer to go to United, City, County etc or the Palace, Opera House, Royal Exchange etc or Odeon, Cineworld, Everyman etc or Museums, Science, Manchester, War etc or Lowry, Whitworth, Manchester Art Gallery. The visit Manchester website lists nearly 500 things to do (of which speedway is one) but like I say people don’t like speedway so you can put any amount of glitter on this particular turd, you ain’t going to get the numbers needed. The tenth thing to do in Ipswich on the visit Suffolk website is “shop for a Suffolk souvenir”. This isn’t a dig at Ipswich but an indication what we’re up against. The other thing to consider is people like to do nothing. Work, home, TV, bed, repeat. They should promote it as a bank/school holiday thrill fest with goodies and baddies, thrills and spills in the same way as WWE because it has as much sporting credibility as WWE. The trouble is the powers that be still try to front us up as an actual sporting contest - with all the entertainment constraints attached - when it’s no such thing when you look how the rules are continually flouted and everyone competes for each other etc.3 points

He must have known that that was being videoed and that it would go public? Had they had a liquid dinner beforehand or something? For a company CEO to be that incompetent when playing to an audience of like minds was certainly embarrassing.3 points

Well just got back a late finish but the large crowd remained until the end. First and foremost very nasty crashes for Kerr and especially Bastian Borke, who clipped the back wheel of his team mate and smashed into the back straight fence at full speed. He was on the track for a good 30 minutes before being moved carefully onto a stretcher and off to hospital. Bastian was having a very good meeting and it was such a shame it ended as it did. Kerr crashed in almost the same spot but was able to walk away after some attention. Wishing both riders a speedy recovery.2 points

Scott Nicholls' ride in heat 15 was a thing of beauty. Don't know how he keeps doing it. What a legend.2 points

This is a misunderstanding of the rule. There is no reason why Berwick should not get IRR for an existing injury. They could have had a full rider replacement had they not allowed Kerr the chance to ride, so they are not gaining anything through IRR.2 points

they have had radio advertising on key 103 when adrian was here they reguarly attend carnivals and other events & they give out free tickets to kids clubs also and they have recently linked up with Lancs cricket !! Lemon has said in the past they would like to do more advertising but it's down to cost sadly b/vue are no different to any other club they all don't do what you are suggesting on the adevrtising front sadly2 points

Always thought that speedway teams should sponsor local football, cricket, rugby leagues etc etc.. Literally thousands of kids from age 8 to 16 playing each week in the locale.. Being watched by thousands of parents.. A captured market... Take a gazebo down wiith the club insignia on with a couple of riders and bikes, to the playing fields with dozens of matches on, on Saturday and Sunday, and dish out plenty of stickers, photos, pens, free/reduced tickets etc . Most leagues have end of season prize givings with trophies being given out so sponsor that too... Direct marketing to exactly the customer base you need to attract, for, relatively to its potential impact, little cost..2 points

Belle Vue need to……. Have an advert on local radio over an extended period of time. Have an advert in local newspapers over an extended period of time. Have an advertising board on some of the busiest roads in Manchester. Have posters in shops and businesses. Had out flyers in local shopping areas. Have a float or attend local fairs and carnivals. Attend local trade shows. Give out free tickets to schools and businesses. Take bikes and merchandise into schools to accompany the talk they deliver on the sport. Be featured on local tv news’s 4 or 5 times between March and October. Get hours of live and prerecorded coverage on sports/terrestrial channels Have a regular editorial in local papers. Have a 30 minute highlights programme on a local tv satellite station. Form a tie up with local groups and offer free entry and supporters club membership. Attend (and hopefully win) local sports team of the year awards. Just a start but if they did all that it would be just a case of counting the money - wouldn’t it?2 points

Out of interest why is Gilkes a total waste of space? You have been unfortunate with the injures to tj and king but with the lowering of the points limit it was always going to make people like Bailey and Edwards step up to become heat leaders and with the absence of tj it’s added more pressure to the two mentioned. They are young and inconsistent.2 points

He is prepared to make changes when he feels someone is under performing or something isn’t working. For way too long now at Berwick we’ve been blindly loyal to riders even when it’s clear that they and/or the whole team is underperforming. I just feel it’s a breath of fresh air to have someone like that as our Team Manager I’ve also now just noticed my typo in my previous post which may render this whole post moot, oops.2 points

Energetic promotion, great atmosphere, simple rules that don’t change everyday, no rain off’s, Not just 15 minutes of action BUT hours and hours play and interaction for a reasonable entrance price!!!!2 points

Enjoying an early morning pre meeting flat white. Looking forward to another evening of excitement down at WINborne Road Shout out for Rob, Steve, Mike, Allan, Kevin, Jan, , Stan, Val, Nigel & Rob. Also Stellar and her dad, all the NID's and not forgetting all those in the sweepstake, big bucks on the rollover!2 points

Somehow I don’t think this decision was based on the evidence of one meeting. Kemp has been fine but hasn’t exactly pulled up any trees, a high score of 8+2 so far this season, his average was actually going down slightly at the start of June for what it’s worth. Cookie has shown signs both at Workington and Oxford of some sort of a renaissance, maybe not as consistent as he used to be but he could certainly be a match winner for them, it was only a few weeks ago he score 16 from 6 against Sheffield. It continues to prove that Dickson is prepared to shake things up and that’s something I am glad to have in a Team Manager.2 points

There is no doubt he has under estimated the resolve of Speedway supporters locally and indeed nationally. He was warned about this eighteen months or so ago and to not underestimate the strength of support, but scoffed at the mere thought of it. The Speedway club is now his biggest problem and shows no sign of going away. The pressure is obviously building hence his recent rant. In fact we don’t need to make him come across as an idiot, he does it for us.2 points

Tough night all round for everyone down at WINborne Road. Wish both Bastian and Lewis speedy recoveries after having nasty crashes. Was good to see the Boyzzzz come through with the win but fair play to Berwick for putting up a fight. C'mon the Boyzzzz1 point

For all the people who want changes for any team, I wonder where you think the riders are going to come from ? The better riders decided not to do this league, others riders more interested in foreign leagues, so probably won't do the uk1 point

They will be paying out around two hundred grand to a quarter of a million, to a team of riders who will not be recognised by many in the street outside including those living in the houses opposite... Maybe run with five rider teams, save forty grand or so, and use that to advertise their product? Doing the same thing they always have done can only keep geting the same results.. The riders don't have the profile in the UK to bring in crowds so try something else to do it.. And, as the riders' profiles hopefully increase, you get that organic growth you need..1 point

Great idea. Even easier for Belle Vue as Mohammed literally comes to the mountain every week with all the kids who play football on our centre green. We need to make the picture of Dan bigger at the front so the kids and parents realise what goes on here.1 point

I had exactly the same thought when I heard that. He may even be more willing to come to the UK now that the GP qualifiers are out of the way until October.1 point

Janowski for me isn't a complete disaster yet.... on the TV meeting he was competitive, there or thereabouts. Granted for a rider of his calibre people expect him to have the Emil effect but genuinely think Magic will come good ovee the next 2 or 3 meetings and will score 9/10's not quite the old Magic but he'll come good1 point

After shooting into an early seemingly unassailable lead the love seems to be switching from Lampart to Pawlicki. If you haven't already, don't forget to vote, I understand the Birmingham promotion are keeping a close eye on this! https://x.com/iainebrown/status/1795364872894792110?s=191 point

The more the merrier, thanks For anyone struggling with wording, just have a look at the other objections and use the outline of something that takes your fancy. It shouldn't be too difficult to slightly re-order and reword your objection a touch so that it looks sufficiently different.1 point

It’s a brave move by Dickson judging by some of those hilarious comments on the Leicester FB page. I’m sure he knows best, and if Cookie continues his electric gating it will be a massive upgrade at reserve on a rider like Kemp, both home and away on the mainly slick tracks in the Premiership.1 point
