I would take Phil Mickelson before Laguta and I doubt he's anywhere near the top 227 points

absolutely no problem with the format or venue....try stopping to find fault with something that is a credit to British speedway.7 points

its funny because I came away from last nights meeting thinking we had a good balance of British riders right now...some really promising youngsters and also some "seniors" for them to learn off......when you think of some of the doom and gloom around the sport, thought last night was quite refreshing.6 points

What's the point of having a National Speedway Staduim not used for National Events Especially on TV which produces top Racing not gate & go boring stuff by the the way bewley was beaten 3 times last night and if was a normal 20 heat meeting brennan would have won the title and they wouldn't have been much moaning about home advantage then woffinden had home advantage at wolves for his 3 titles then did he ?? best rider wins on the night simple5 points

Sadly this will go down as my dad's last meeting (well over 1500 home meetings at Owlerton) as he passed away suddenly in the early hours of today. He first went as a 17 year old in 1960,the track record was about 72 seconds,he got to see Jack go round in 58.92 aged 81. He was still watching racing from Poland last evening on TV,first Jack's Polish team then when that got curtailed,we ended up watching big brother Chris and Tobi! It pleased him to see Kyle back on form,he liked riders like Kyle, the mainstay of league speedway riders down the years, but his absolute favorite rider was Jim Airey.5 points

Birmingham fans must be bewildered by watching pawlicki in Poland, likewise Wrocław fans must be bewildered by watching woffinden in England3 points

Is there really much in the “ home track advantage “ thing ? Speedway is such a fickle sport depended on so many unforseeable and unquantifiable factors that I would have thought that the higher up the order you get the more you should be capable of riding anywhere especially if you aspire to becoming a champion. There used to be a Swedish rider you may vaguely remember, Norbold, a chap by the name of Fundin. His famous comment was “ I want someone to build me a bike to get me to the first bend first, then I’ll do the rest “ . Surely the sign of a true champion is that as long as he has a decent bike he can “ do the rest “? I thought it was a pretty decent meeting last night. Incredible to think that under the old 20 heat formula Tom Brennan would be British Campion now. I3 points

I'd be amazed if Bomber let anyone win, anywhere, any day of the week. And especially as it was very apparent that he felt cheated of a (final?) Cardiff appearance after the British Final rain off 2 years ago. And the fans clearly wanted to see him at Cardiff again, as he received the biggest cheer before the start when he was paraded as one the previous winners.3 points

I’ve seen enough this season now to predict a Lublin vs Gorzow final.2 points

He has really moved up a level this season, it is refreshing that he has upped his potential that we all knew he had. Well done Tom couldn’t have happened to a nicer young man , he is sorely missed at Glasgow but last season the travelling was taking it’s toll.2 points

There’s not another premiership track I’d want the meeting at, quite often when I see meetings at different tracks on tv I think I couldn’t watch this every week, Belle Vue is still the best place to host it as chances are you’re going to get a decent meeting there. The ‘home advantage’ element of it you’d get at any track, it’s unavoidable.2 points

If this pans out I for one will be pretty pleased with that, can’t be compared to Doyle on these shores very few can but I think once he’s found the set up he’ll do well at ipswich, decent style for turning the bike and more technical tracks, never knows when he’s beat and doesn’t heavily rely on gating2 points

Imagine if it was held at Sheffield every season with Tai riding there, or Lambert at King's Lynn, or even Scott Nicholls at Ipswich. Belle Vue fans would start a riot!2 points

Looked like Bewley rode close to Wright's left leg out of frustration as they slowed down. Don't think there was anything wrong with the race, was hard but fair2 points

Delighted for Leon Flint who has qualified for this years SGP2 series after he came through his qualifying round in Macon France last night as I know it was high on his list of achievements for this season. The first of the three finals will be held at Malilla Sweden this coming Friday, the second final will be at Riga Latvia on the 6th of September with the third final at Torun Poland on the 27th of September.2 points

Think that takes a bit away from Brennan to be fair, who was outstanding all night. Given what Cardiff means to Harris, I'm not so sure he'd give up another chance to get back there for one last time.2 points

Back in the olden days when the sun shone all season and there was passing in every race and GB ruled the shale as we're oft reminded, the BLRC was always at Belle Vue and the British Final always at Coventry. I'm sure people used to complain about that too re advantage, but was there ever any suggestion realistically it would be anywhere else? The best riders should be able to win events at any stadium after all, it's not like the NSS is a trick track, and I doubt many riders fear riding it.2 points

We don’t have to have ridden to recognise world class and just ‘good’ riders you muppet. We watch speedway so we are entitled to our opinions, doesn’t make us keyboard warriors. The fact is, Team GB bar two maybe three doesn’t have world class riders, that British final was full of average riders, with 3 exceptions and one of those is a fading star.1 point
-
You worry far too much. Lamberts issues (bar one ride) were clearly mechanical, he will be kitted out far better for the SoN. We have as good a chance as anyone. My only issue is that we'll be going into the final cold when everyone else has had a semi final to acclimatise.1 point

Yes Congratulations to Tom for an excellent performance to achieve 3rd place in the British Final. Av a good un at Cardiff1 point

A few of them seem to be Bradford lads so might have just started coming once Sheffield came back into the top league as can’t remember them pre 2019 when last in Championship, hopefully at some point the stupid chanting dies down as eventually it will give the club a bad name, whereas the Tigers on Tour guys are really sound and knowledgeable fans, I’ve stood with the likes of Chris and Dave on away trips previously who just support the team1 point

I don’t think you can say 'Home track advantage win's' Tom beat Dan fair and square in the earlier heat when they met. Dan and Woffy. have had plenty of experience in big one off finals. Maybe Tom hasn’t. That was the difference imo. At least Tom get to strut his stuff at Cardiff and well deserved too .1 point

About 20 minutes later ? That makes it ok then does it ? It was nothing to do with what Tai said. It was in response to a bit of light hearted booing from Tigers fans. Massive uproar on here because Tai swore and kids might have heard it, but it's fine to make offensive gestures that were far more likely to be seen by kids. I know there is a general dislike of Tai on here, but the double standards are laughable at times.1 point

I said last night to a few people that any Leicester fans who were there or bought the livestream, must be gutted that they don't get racing like that week in and out. Us Oxford fans are so bloody lucky after years of closure to have 3 good teams where every rider at every level gives their all on a well prepared track, all in fron of decent crowds.1 point
