After the 3 Hour Drive, I was stunned to get to Oxford and it was Dry. Drizzle did start after Heat 1,and got gradually worse upto end of Heat 6. On the Situation in Heat 6, Tungate knew what he was doing, but for me the track on Bend 3 and 4 didn't look safe. I didn't look at this Dry Window you guys are suggesting, so can't comment on that, but it did come down heavy and it wasn't raceable whilst heavy rain was coming down. Not sure what to say if Oxford were winning by 10, would they wanted to carry on, I think getting to Heat 10 would of been an effort. Long way to go, but that's the Sport I'm afraid, but we were flying, especially Adam Ellis, but time to move onto Leicester next Thursday and possibly Danny King's return.5 points

I was there, and the weather was pretty bad to be fair. It was actually quite bright before the meeting and the track looked dry (hence why it was watered - would have been a dust bowl in heat one otherwise). The fact Erik Riss was racing it and made a pass in heat two shows it was pretty good. BUT then it started to rain and got heavier and heavier. It was pretty torrential from heat four onwards. It stopped for a bit just before it was called off, but then returned again. I know the Ipswich fans are a bit upset, but there's no way the meeting would have got to heat 10. And put it this way, I was stood on the third bend and got completely soaked and the covers on the greyhound track were flooded - that shows much rain there was. I doubt the full extent of it was picked up on BSN,4 points

Somebody would've got badly injured if they continued imo. More than likely Wright considering he likes to play ten pin bowling with a motorbike.3 points

Watered the track before the start with rain forecast who decides that!!! The track was rideable look at Emil and Ellis …. Seen many meetings back in the 80’s and 90’s with sawdust down and riders struggling but it carried on Today most riders are too precious … kind of sums up society in a way3 points

This is the one-off riders championship that is hosted annually. It’s not the development series that is new this season and is supposedly around the country at multiple tracks, but so far Leicester are the only club to announce a date.3 points

Does it really matter that much?????,the night was all about Kyle.3 points

Yes, thanks for the explanation, it sounds like BSN were under playing it a bit then, they kept saying it was just drizzle.2 points

Whilst the standard of weather forecast is awful that makes decisions tougher. ALL weather forecasts today said this would happen so for me Morris needs to introduce some standards for watering and/or how and when to call meetings off in advance because its all over the place. Lynn call it off days before (sometimes right/sometimes wrong), Ipswich and Oxford (to name two) drag fans to the track despite the forecast. (again sometimes right/sometimes wrong) All a bit rubbish in my view and not at what people expect from a professional sport.2 points

Irrelevant I’ve seen many meetings in the 40 years I’ve watched Speedway where it’s poor wet conditions The sport is just in the doldrums and all of these farcical rain offs just help hammer the nail in2 points

Correct decision fans moan about paying high admission and they want to see speedway on a wet track no thanks I wittensed the Aces/Sheffield disasater we don't need another one of them thanks2 points

Sayfutdinov looked far from comfortable also and if riders of that calibre are struggling, as disappointing as it is, the correct decision was probably made.2 points

Been at Stadium since 6pm, no rain here whilst in the stadium. They just even been round with water truck.2 points

You're thinking of the National League Riders Development Series, which - as @Islander15 said - is different from the National Development League Riders' Championship - easy to get them confused, mind. The latter is a one-off meeting at Poole.2 points

Leicester already off, on the same forecast. But it happened on opening night, Leicester cancelled on a forecast, Oxford ran. Watching the weather cross the country on the radar could be more exciting than the meeting on this one!2 points

Those were my words too when I seen the video of Tate being wiped out. Now we have to go a week without him. Thankfully it’s nothing serious cause it could have been a lot worse.2 points

Nice and central for the fans , no time off required for those that work……I typed sarcastically. Even the majority of the competitors will be out of pocket.2 points

I'm flabbergasted that peolple are still referring to GI, by some flying pig miracle, building a new track as "positive news" We don't want these parasites to have any connection to the club whatsoever! Anyone worth their salt would refuse to attend and line that b****** Osborne's pockets and it would be a matter of time before he would be looking to put houses on the new land. If GI are our only option, I would rather we stay mothballed!2 points

At 8:15 the weather radar was showing it clearing by 8:30 and not returning until after 9:15 If that didn't happen then it was the right call - if it did there was time to sort it it and get it done1 point

They had world and international class riders in them though, not Dan Thompson, Boughen and Jenkins etc. Sometimes you just can't beat the weather. It was still dusty during heat 1 after the watering. Until there is some kind of plan (if that word want being used enough at the moment!) To refer to when weather isn't great this kind of thing will keep happening. Track covers, proper grading equipment, wet weather setups for the bikes etc.1 point

You are correct.... Sadly, at least, 10 years too late.. "Going it alone" was the huge opportunity... One league "Premier Lite"' and one league "Championship Lite".. Lots of teams per league, all racing at their "natural level" for their crowd numbers... Doubling down used to help the Championship Lite teams to have a good British number one, who could help develop talent... And all the teams riding on nights that deliver their best crowds.. Horse, stable doors, bolted...1 point

Extremely harsh. You can see the dry and grippy lines on a damp track. Bomber does what bomber does, goes where nobody else does and finds the speed where others take the “safe” route. Carried far too much speed for Lampart who knows he was done.1 point

Ive a feeling that NDL riders champs takes precedence over other fixtures.....At £15 its better priced than the U21's and probably more open/competitive......Would have to think that Hagon is favourite though which might add a few more undecided home fans.1 point

Standing up to Poland would be telling their riders to turn up at Lynn or else. Or refusing to sign any Extraliga (1 or 2) riders. Calling off a match because you don't have a full team is NOT "standing up to Poland". Poland won't care if Lynn raced understrength or postponed the match as long as they get their riders.1 point

Would have preferred to see an individual rather than a contrived team event where nobody really cares who wins1 point

Happily, I didn't see the Vic Harding crash but I did see Denny Pyeatt's fatal crash. It's over 40 years ago but it's still as clear as day to me. Not something I ever want to see again Those of us who were there also won't forget that 1980 season when the Hawks almost won the League having propped up the table the previous two seasons. It all came to a sad end when Cradley won at Waterden Road but I'll never forget the Hackney fans giving the Heathen a great reception on the tractor ride afterwards. Spoke volumes about them and speedway fans in general. One of the highlights of that season (but not for me!) was Dons getting thumped 56-22. Cyril Maidment unwisely complained that the announcer was mispronouncing Eddie Jancarz's name, upon which the announcer simply replied, 'Hackney 56 Wimbledon 22'.1 point

Finally the scales are falling from your eyes with regards to Buster!1 point

Agreed personally I don't think he will return? when MPT fit he will return and that will be the team for rest of the season barring any other injuries ?1 point

At least when it's in Polish I don't end up shouting at the screen in frustration at the innumeracy of the commentators.1 point

There is a difference between the Kurtz & Covatti / Musielak situations, if you cannot see that I despair. Kurtz rode in a one-off match (GP qualifier) but hasn't ridden for his British or Polish clubs since. Covatti has basically declared he's fit to ride, just not in Britain. If Musielak doesn't turn up on Thursday then he's done the same.1 point
-
There shouldn’t be any reason why he isn’t in the team at this point. Apparently Ostrow aren’t putting any pressure on him like Wroclaw and Grudziadz have, plus he enjoys the UK and is committed to riding here1 point
