I have to say Glasgow is the most professional club I have visited, was made very welcome from the promotion to the bar staff. Will definitely return6 points

I think before the season I would of preferred evening meetings but not now. The amount of families/kids and younger people attending is noticeably higher than any other track I’ve ever attended. 100% believe this is due to afternoon racing and the crowd levels would not be the same in the evening. Must have been at least 3x as many people there yesterday than what was at our recent away meetings at Scunthorpe and Edinburgh. I remember commenting at Edinburgh there weren’t any kids in sight! I will take that over a bit of extra dust, which I think Steve does well to control.5 points

The ability of these riders to make me look stupid after I’ve said something on this forum knows no bounds.4 points

I wouldn't be surprised if they were both back at Workington next season. My logic being there no point in keeping struggling riders unless you think they'll improve in the future? Basically the only reason not to drop them this year is to benefit next year, to me it would be ludicrous to keep them all year, virtually ruin any chance of winning trophies, but then not re-sign them.4 points

No such rule. If the race is stopped after an incident on the first bend it's due to an unsatisfactory start.3 points

Robert Lambert is riding terrific atm, I think when he finally wins a GP he will win a few.3 points

He, Gusts and Andersen giving it a real go in the absence of Tai and Dan. Well done them.3 points

I think there's a reason he didn't get back to them. Certainly, his surprise at not being included in the Glasgow team for this year in his tweet at the end of the season wasn't real. It was a shame he left the club how he did. If he'd just said "I'd rather ride somewhere else next year", every reasonable person would have understood.3 points

I remember seeing Foord make his NDL debut at Eastbourne and it was frightening !!! brilliant to see him really improve and score very decent points in the championship.3 points

It’s good to see so many Kids and young people attending they are the future customer base. Glasgow have been promoting this for years Roary, kids races etc. Friday night against Poole was the largest amount of kids I have seen take part in the kids race and it’s great too see so many enjoying themselves.3 points

Don’t know why the Comets fans need to justify anything regarding dust because a couple of Poole fans comments on it. Warm day,, afternoon meeting off course you will get some dust . Even when they are dominant they still find something personally I thought they controlled it very well.3 points

Excellent entertainment today with good racing from both sides. Top class track well looked after by Steve Lawson. I am sure Workington will move forwards and upwards in the passage of time. Keep up the good work3 points

Tracks are better when less sun, more rain and generally damper. Gets in to the base and water table. The biggest single issue though was when total loss oil system ended. All of that Castrol R that used to be deposited from the engine was a brilliant bonding agent for the shale.3 points

The score at Workington this afternoon shows what an effort it was by us last night to take the Pirates to a last heat decider3 points

Would be amazed if they don’t win the treble this year. They just have a different class of rider. Saw Ben Cook’s race wins in the PL Ekstraliga today against Wroclaw and he was flying2 points

Forum users should show respect for other fans within the speedway family including using words like scummy and pilots all of which are uncalled for. It used to wind me up when Dick Barrie got stuck into the Comets fans calling us Comics etc when on the presentation mic at Berwick.2 points

Glasgow by all accounts seem to have a good relationship with their Poole counterparts I assume they are both singing from the same hymn sheet. As very successful business men outside of Speedway they will run the club in the same way as they would their business. I don’t think the context of your link regarding what Tom said is not that Glasgow weren’t professional but more to do with he is happy at his new club as much as he was with us. Its really good to see he has went up another level as he also did with us.2 points

You know nothing about the Management Plans at Glasgow so your comments are just unnecessary.2 points

Just been thinking about our reserves pairing. Do you see anyone signing them up in the champ next season? I can't see Sam nor celina getting snapped up by anyone purely based on their ability and scoring this season.2 points

You have 2 mins to push home from when the race finishes as long as you don’t have any outside help which is what he done Thomson just pulled his bike out from under the fence started it again rode it home for the point seen it loads of times ,riders leaning there bikes over to warm tyres must be pretty common as every rider does it at the start but monarchs riders were saying they could see smoke coming from the back tyre but being barkers lawn mowers like people were saying lol maybe it was engine oil burning out exhaust or the primary chain getting too much oil and burning off like you see after most races2 points

Everyone on he having a dig at Lambo’s form this season ? ,a fact which might bear interest is he has suffered with pneumonia recently and that has affected his form2 points

Happens in the GP's way too often as well. Just needs to learn how to control himself when it comes to gating in high pressure races because he's got everything else that it takes to be a an Individual World Champion at some point in his career.1 point

Maybe, but Gusts did well and nobody can begrudge Leszno a bit of luck when it comes to injuries this season.1 point

Weird as he looked as good as ever last night at Bydgoscz. League racing he's been very average.1 point

Ben Cook was terrific for the one year we had him at Peterborough, so pleased that he’s doing it at a higher level now as well.1 point

Is he not worth waiting for then? Poole obviously think he is worth it as they changed two riders to fit him in. Sounds happy at Poole too... https://x.com/TomBrennan27/status/1817285533820952578 Just for lbw who complains when I do links... 'Successful Northen Tour with @poolespeedway , coming away with two big wins. Working with a professional club with great supporters makes doing the job way easier, so thanks to everyone for that. Back at home on Wednesday to keep the momentum going'1 point

Dust was definitely an issue in the stand on bend 1. Not sure what the cleaners will think of me brown towel ! I sit on the straight at Poole so not affected by any dust that kicks up there. Dunno, part of the sport I guess which is difficult to control on a warm breezy afternoon. Flying shale & dust is kinda common place on the bends.1 point

Don't worry Geoff a lot of Poole fans just watch away meetings on TV, so it must need dusting1 point

Poole won away at Glasgow and Workington, they spanked Scunny by 31 points......... Poole are going to win everything as it stands. Scunny may as well gamble on bringing in a foreigner on a 5 point average, they might find a Tarasenko type rider.1 point

He wanted a team nearer his base, Poole was the perfect fit for that.1 point

Too little too late from the promotion. You can’t be soft in professional sport, and, this is going to be a slaughter. Liebmann is just not good enough. She’d struggle to be a second string in the national league. Need a more experience Team Manager, too busy trying to be mates with everyone.1 point

What I do not understand is that most clubs do not own the stadia and rent them from independent landlords. For example, if I approached Spedeworth to run a Nora meeting at Foxhall Heath on a date when the stadium was not being used by anyone else, Spedeworth say OK, how can the BSPL then stop the witches racing claiming it is an exclusive venue for SCB meetings only (unless the SCB have entered into an exclusive covenant with every stadium regarding speedway which is highly unlikely as the landlords would undoubtedly no want to tied in to something like that unless they are receiving from the SCB a financial incentive). Or another scenario, what if the stadium owners at Mildenhall were to host Nora meetings in 2024 and agree a deal for 2025 and then the Fen Tigers applied to enter a team under the SCB/ BSPL arrangement in 2025, would they refuse the application? All seems crazy to me when the sport is on its knees and needs as much publicity and rider participation as is possible, the last thing it needs is a cartel.1 point

Didn’t watch the last one in Warsaw so can’t see me bothering with this one either, don’t think I will going Cardiff again this year and for for me is the problem, if the pinnacle of the sport in this country can’t attract me to attend then how does it hope to attract anyone else, I am a through and through speedway fan, I live the sport I am the sport and would rather go and watch a championship or premiership meeting, Cardiff should be a blast but it just isn’t anymore and discovery seem so out of touch that I can’t see it changing, the sprint thing is just pathetic as a spectacle1 point
