  1. To be honest I would tell him not to bother coming over again he won't be missed and has been a big waste of money, no commitment.

  4. 2021 just fell right for Peterborough and having a high scoring reserve played to our all round strength, Rob Lyon played a full part in the team’s success which wasn’t really expected from anyone, Ulrich riding superbly at the start whilst a reserve and then getting hurt whilst No 1 didn’t go against us either. Sometimes things just fall into place and 2021 was one such occasion and very enjoyable it was.

  5. The Speedway Control Bureau (SCB) were aware that King's Lynn's Benjamin Basso returned from his recent shoulder injury to represent his Polish League Club Lodz on the 3rd August 2024. Despite Mr Basso competing in four races, he was withdrawn from his fifth heat and subsequently suffered a reoccurrence of his previous shoulder injury. The SCB were informed on the 5th August 2024 that due to this reoccurrence shoulder injury Mr Basso would not be available to return to the King's Lynn team in their fixture versus Leicester also on the 5th August 2024 and the home fixture against Belle Vue on the 8th August 2024. The SCB requested that a new medical certificate would be required to avoid Mr Basso receiving a suspension of his SCB Registration. A new medical certificate was received by the SCB on the 6th August 2024. Therefore, as Mr Basso had received this injury whilst representing his Polish Club and the SCB had received a new medical certificate, the SCB Regulation 010.5 g) would allow King's Lynn a facility for a period up to 28 days from the 5th August 2024 Kings Lynn have been informed that if Mr Basso competes in any other events during this period then that’s fine by them As of the 12th August 2024, if the facility has not been extended then Mr Basso and Kings Lynn can do what the hell they like. When asked why this statement differed from that put out by the SCB just six weeks earlier they responded saying “one team was from Manchester - der”

  9. I have attended 32 meetings in the UK so far this season. The racing has been mixed as you would expect. One thing I have noticed is the amount of meetings that start later than advertised. Often it appears for no reason. As someone who attends meeting on public transport this is an important factor to me. However whenever I attend a Leicester meeting, 3 times so far, 2 x Lions and a Cubs meeting they start on time. That is the first race at the publicised start time, the parade, minutes applause etc. happens before this. I don't know who is responsible for the timing, but they should be congratulated for their professionalism & doing a good job.

  13. Plumes of dust from heat one. Blue groove from heat 8. Compare that to Belle vue who had neither. the riders need a decent stage to perform.

  14. I stand corrected,he's still a poor manager though.

  16. Prediction: Birmingham 44 Leicester 46. Honestly looking at the teams I'd have Brummies down for a 2 points win, but they have a knack of riding terribly whenever they look to have a chance, so can easily see them lose every match for the rest of the season.

  17. As long as Rowe races one league match, then he'd be using his 23 & 24 matches for his rolling ave. Gibes him a much better chance of finding a Champ spot in 25.

  18. No I mean he'll get his 2023 champ average. Sure that's what happened with gilkes on next set of averages with Redcar. He's also not a guest now as declared in 1-7

  19. No lol, but I think he is the best manager in speedway 👍

  20. He took the wee out of Wolves but we didn’t stand for no nonsense. Yet again the Poles showing complete contempt for British speedway, get rid.

  22. He takes the 'p#ss' when he does ride as well! A complete waste of money! As said before...he must be on a 'guaranteed' contract...I cant imagine any other club putting up with him this season!

  23. I rather suspect Poland don’t give them the choice, they ride or they start paying back sone of their start money is what I have heard, a bit more flexibility in the UK where we don’t force riders to ride when they are clearly unfit to do so.

  28. The business end of the season is approaching. Never thought I would be saying this but I don’t think anyone will fancy facing the Lions, who on recent form have proved that they can outscore anyone over two legs. Whilst we do not have guaranteed points in heats 13 & 15, the top five are looking pretty solid. We are frequently outscored at reserve, but I think if Cook can pick up where he left off, the Lions have a chance of being top dogs. Cookies performance will be key and if he can maintain or hit just above his current average, we could probably carry Hagon and treat his points as a bonus. This all of course assumes that the team will not be hit any injuries.

  29. Always good to read positive comments. Starting on time is one thing, but completing a meeting in a reasonable time frame is another. Leicester have been poor on this front in the past but things do appear to have improved, particularly when meetings are televised or streamed.

  30. Jack Smith has a higher average than Pearson, so he'd be next in line if Rowe & Ivacic aren't allowed

  31. Crowd was very good against Glasgow. Viewing by bends 1 and 2 very busy! Maybe the costs between the two leagues have increased even more?

  32. If Premiership fixtures were on Wednesdays and 2025 were to be Poole's final season and Matt sold the chateau then it might be an option? But it won't. Imo the issues that Premiership teams are experiencing this season, with foreign riders not turning up or feigning injury despite riding abroad the day before a UK fixture will only get worse.

  33. I doubt it would bankrupt the club at all. But it might mean Ford makes a bit less profit. He might make the same or even a bit more. Would he chance that for his loyal fans, if they wanted Prem. I have my doubts.

  34. Sunderland. Perfect for Speedway. Nothing, as far as I know, to prevent Speedway returning as the Greyhound Stadium is still there and much improved to what it was in the '60s and '70s. I would very much doubt whether any Promoters would be interested - but - the Stadium is there.

  35. Keep saying it but can't see them wanting to move back up and bankrupting the club

  36. See what you mean. Jack Smith may have been a different case as I dont think he had a 2023 Championship average.

  37. It’s just a shame that recently (bar 2021 and even that on paper wasn’t a good team) he hasn’t had the resources to challenge with a competitive 1-7

  38. I think regarding basso is that he isn’t fit but under pressure from Poland to ride regardless. But lynn shouldn’t get a facility for him as he has returned to riding three times since his uk absence.

  40. Pawlicki out of tonight's meeting :- BIRMINGHAM will again be without Piotr Pawlicki for tonight’s (Monday) home clash with Leicester. The Pole has been ruled out with fever and sickness and rider replacement will again be operated in his absence.

  45. I understand your point, to a degree I can agree with you, the later heats may have been different, especially heat 15, although I'm not sure why they wouldn't try when they get paid for points money. However Cami says the referee cost them the match more than once, even using your "butterfly effect" theory - Glasgow may have done better in heat 15, they also may not have. So whatever way you see it, still can't say the ref cost Glasgow the match imo.

  49. Im just catching up on the latest news and having watched the video clip have to say Emil was very lucky to come out of that incident as he did, he is an absolute class act on and off the bike and i wish him a speedy recovery and hope hes back for the play offs. Im not a Jack Holder fan but he certainly was not to blame for the incident, as for comments relating to the track and Holders behaviour after the event im not qualified to comment as i did not watch the meeting, the main thing in all this is Emil is ok and hopefully back in action asap.
