Its supposed to be a development league, the ‘winnings’ should be potential riders for the future, not a shiny £10 trophy and a picture in the Star. If clubs stuck to the principles and the recommended pay rates , there wouldn't be a ‘them and us’ attitude and clubs like Buxton , Mildenhall and even the Isle if Wight may still be running in the NDL but some clubs, and we all know who, have a win at all costs attitude and do what they want and not necessarily whats best for the sport. This coming season will see very few new faces in the league, just a couple of lads turning 15 will be about it as there has been precious little new riders taking up the sport. Attitudes need to change , more effort made to get kids on bikes, make the sport cheaper and not dearer as the new regs are doing or there wont be a future. There will always be winners and losers but at this level, it doesn't really matter !3 points

I’ve not stated about winning things I’ve asked about your racetrack and the racing on it . So a serious few questions . is the racing at Poole better than Glasgow = NO Redcar = No Oxford = No Scunthorpe = No Workington = No Berwick = debate able Edinburgh = Yes Plymouth =Yes Poole are very good on there own track and certain away tracks I admit but I could not watch speedway at Poole as Speedway is allegedly classed as an entertainment as well .so winning at the detriment of providing entertainment you keep watching it in Poole while I’ll visit tracks were there is good hard racing for 4 laps each race and not just the first 80 metres of the first lap2 points

Edinburgh won the champ convincingly a few years back with masters, cook, sedgy side with some pretty duff reserves. Clegg and Aaron fox I think it was averaged just over 3. So there is a precedent2 points

Yes it is as if Glasgow have any chance of winning. We shall have to see if the team is as good as some seem to think or is someone a little bit over confident!2 points

Although, having watched some of his international rides, it was like a totally different rider turned up in Glasgow.2 points

Thanks didn’t realise that. The Official Website is too busy telling us about Cribby to bother with any recent developments.🤔2 points

Reading last weeks S Star it is exactly the same article that featured in the Nov 21st edition. With nothing happening news wise the old copy and paste came into action.2 points

When Eastbourne rode at Arlington fans came from all over south east with many having a journey of 60 mins plus. There’s no walk-up crowd as there is at Oxford or Poole for example. Arlington is down a narrow country lane off the A22 in the Sussex countryside as Mr Millard was apt to say on Sky2 points

If the temp reserve has a 2.3 average, he can be replaced by a 2 point rider. If clubs make a single change, they can sign someone on an equal or lower average, don't have to fit under the points limit. I can't see Paul Starke being the temporary signing as he's 99 likely to score more than his reserve partner (can't think of any 2 point riders who would outscore him).2 points

I reckon I'll be partaking in one for the first time since the Waggy years, very decent value.2 points

Dont get too excited too soon, lot of rumours about discontent in this NDL 2 set up . It certainly doesnt make sense geography wise when Workingtons neighbours, Edinburgh , Redcar and Sheff/Scuny dont have to travel to Plymouth , Kent or Kings Lynn in mid week for a meaningless development fixture. Surely a north south split would have been more sensible and might even attract fans to travel.2 points

One thing I was always critical about was that season tickets didn't offer value for money. You often only had to miss one meeting for any saving to disappear. But for the past couple of years things have been much better in that regard and think the 2025 one offers some decent value. As someone who attends every home meeting and always buys a programme, a saving of £6.50 makes the risk worthwhile. Add in that it's a team I'm looking forward to watching plus being able to walk straight in without hardly queuing, makes getting one a no brainer for me.2 points

Because he went off the throttle. Nothing to do with the track. Oxford fans say he been doing it for a while. Interesting to see if he does it next season.1 point

S Finally it makes sense because I've never seen any track grading at Wimborne Road, just scraping dirt off the track. Something I've never seen at any other track during a meeting on a dry day. The Poole punters might be happy with the product on show but I'd rate the racing as the worst in the league.1 point

The local council are seeking to rename Wimborne Road to Trophy Place.😇 Although Champion Way is also under consideration along with Treble Avenue.😂1 point

If his ban ends around 12th July that's not mid season for us. That's usually nearly end of season the past couple of years.1 point

I wonder if Jody Scott could be Pooles starting 2 pointer and then when released at end June could rejoin Oxford with a fit again Scott Nicholls?1 point

Top 5 is really good, I'll give them that. But not sure I would to go into a season with 2 two-pointers.1 point

Good second signing and like the ethos of a 30 year old heat leader and a promising 15 year old as the first 2 signings. See on the bspa website Jamie was 2nd to Cairns in the youth championship this year so an ideal signing. A 15 year old, a 30 year old, who's 45 and still riding......1 point

Bearing in mind Poole announced Richard Lawson on Sept 1st (his testimonial) and then Danny Ford said in November that the whole 1-7 would be announced by Christmas - reiterated on Saturday - I guess its all been planned carefully. 2025 Season tickets already announced with prices frozen at 2024 rates and some new additional sponsors coming on board - all is well at Wimborne Road, with a new track grader blade in situ and new air fence planned in readiness for 2026!!1 point

Predictions are all very well…..but let’s not forget this is Speedway…..so much can happen in a season to upset the apple cart. On paper so far for me….looks like it’s between Glasgow, Poole and Redcar but good luck to all teams and may the inevitable injuries be mild.1 point

I don't think they'd waste money trying to win a tin pot 3rd division title for no gain. That would be pointless. I do think they'd invest in trying to find new young British assets like Dan Bewley. That makes business sense.1 point

I can only assume you didn’t see any Glasgow meetings last season, or you’ve suffered a serious brain injury. The word ”woeful” doesn’t even cut it. The biggest letdown in the history of Glasgow speedway.1 point

Really pleased with the way Lynn have gone about their business for 2025 season. Feels the club is more on front foot. Hoping for good season and one that is injury free (for all). Team chosen and switch to Monday race night should eliminate all that Polish nonsense suffered in campaign just gone. Live too far away to buy season ticket but its good value.1 point

So rules / agreements have never been changed in speedway before ? Well it cant be taken very seriously with only 4/5 teams in it and the riders all riding for other clubs who probably take priority on any clashes as will any championship call ups but lets hope all is rosey in the speedway garden and its better run than the rest of the sport.1 point

Interesting that Woffinden says he’s now 100% fit and elbow all healed up, wonder if he’ll have a spin whilst in Aussie? Still think it’s a massive risk having him in the team coming back from such a big injury1 point

If Nathan Ablitt isn't in the team, how about Jake Knight (former Eastbourne rider) joining Morley at the top of the team?1 point

Freddie Hodder won the Stars of Tomorrow competition in September, ahead of competition from the likes of Connor Coles, Jake Mulford, Jody Scott and Acr Pijper. The same Freddie Hodder scored 6+2 while guesting for us at home to Oxford at the tail end of last season. Our top five will throw every single other team in the league around like a wet towel, but make no mistake: the acquisition of Freddie Hodder is a strategic, planned piece of business. The exaggerated focus on our reserves is an attempt to persuade themselves, not us, that everything will be okay.1 point
