  8. The Poole ' Harbour Masters' is to be an annual event - a bit like the old Blue Riband but for NDL riders (with or without Will Cairns)!

  9. Would expect prices will be higher than that, but still think both days will sell out.

  10. Then in the first official meeting we all moan if a rider looks rusty or has mechanical issues.

  11. £50 a meeting in the "normal seats" in the Grandstand and £90 for both days would be the maximum expected I suggest . With £40 for standing per meeting and £75 for both .. No need to subsidise other meetings like the SON final had to do last season, so no need to charge the prices that they needed to do then.. When compared to Premiership prices, for a World Class event, those admission fees would be value for me, and a 5,000 crowd both days would deliver circa £400k..

  13. Fair comment. He was one of speedways great stylists, a great team rider as team riders go in the modern era, totally focussed, and machines were always immaculate. In fact one could say he had all. That is all except possibly the most important quality of all and that is the killer instinct. Perhaps he was just a little too much of a fair rider, too much of a sportsman, to have the absolute hunger and will to win. Maybe he would have won the top prize if he had been a little more of a hard man, but if he had been harder he probably wouldn’t have been held in the high esteem we all seem to hold him in.

  15. After the way that people have been messed around with the Cardiff cancellation, this situation is very poor and is showing total contempt for the fans. I understand the logistical problems in arranging 2 GP's at relatively short notice and working out the costing etc. But a statement explaining the reasons for the delay would go a long way, rather than the wall of silence.

  16. Indeed - but the winners don't actually win very much ...

  17. Would be very 'speedway' if Marson is in it...and wins it over Cairns! We all know who the better rider will end up being but it would make me chuckle all the same.

  21. They should know but the delay, and lack of communication regarding ticket sale date and cost, does make me wonder if there are things going on in the background as per other rumours (i.e Switching weekends with Gorzow or cancellation of the Friday night). Anyway, I'm basing my costings on the SoN event last year and the cheapest grandstand ticket was £85.00 for the final so I'm looking at roughly £170.00 this time.
