  2. He shouldn’t be anywhere near a speedway track he is shot to pieces and is a danger to himself and others I don’t care how young he is once you have lost confidence you can’t race … the great Shawn Moran stopped when he realised he was shutting off all the time he had lost the confidence The whole stadium knows he isn’t injured it’s just underhand tactics to get a result … seems to have fired the witches up a bit though

  3. Abi just summed up one of the big issues with speedway for me, opposing riders having a laugh while the meeting is on. After the meeting is fine but surely any tension and atmosphere just evaporates while everyone is being so nice to each other during a contest.

  4. Cannot begin to explain how unprofessional this whole broadcast is. It is absolutely laughable. BSN should be extremely proud of what they have created because it completely trumps this garbage.

  5. Go on Matej, I could listen to his interviews all day. TV Gold.

  6. I wouldn’t be surprised if Boughen is sacked by both clubs within this week. The lad needs to either take a break to sort his head out or drop down and focus on NDL.

  7. No mention even of the match on the BV website - it's a glossy site, but is absolute rubbish.

  8. Well said mate, he's a proper nause.

  10. He would have been better just riding for Workington to ease himself back in after his injuries.

  11. Or as my husband dryly commented "there are more tractors than spectators" [He was impressed by Paco's tache, but he left the room muttering something about going to watch some paint dry]

  12. When have the rules in speedway mattered? Everyone knows they are written on toilet paper and flushed when they need re-writing .😉

  13. Sounds a bit on an arrogant comment, no rider should risk injury for any team, but why should Cairns play it safe for Belle Vue when he's not even riding for Poole yet?

  14. I can't think of anyone in the recent past who has been as articulate and sensible off the track and he is a steady improver on it. If he lacks anything it's just the kind of horse-power that some with less ability and dedication seem to attract. He does a lot of work to promote the Sport too and it's a shame that his spell at Birmingham will now ony be for a season. Credit to the Sport

  15. Agree, I knew Ipswich were going to have problems tonight with Lambert guesting as he's been shocking in the Championship for Scunny and he's well in with Buster to a point where I wouldn't put it past Buster to pay him points money to ride poorly. Guest booking that didn't make any sense tbh. Think it's game over if Hume guests at Foxhall as Kvech will fill his boots again.

  16. Done fantastic, Likeable lad as well.

  17. I bet we will get Hume and that is no better. I don’t know the answer but I do know soon as I saw lambert today I knew we weren’t gaining anything from 6. Adam having an off night is a shame but we go again.

  18. Really made up for the Brummies and their long suffering fans, brilliant stuff. Followed it on updates, seemed a lot of action.

  19. Should have took 2&4. Cook just won off 2 and Bewley would have had better chance off 4 and not sucked in.

  20. Abi seems a lovely person but she would be far better suited to kids tv, what’s with all the giggling?

  21. Doesn't help when reserves aren't much good, outscored 11-4 and don't Mulford to score in heat 14. That area of the team is where we are weak as hell and exposed every meeting.

  22. Dan the man, cracking ride when it's needed.

  23. Very much agree, a Rising Star or a nominated numer 8 should be having a minimum of three 'rides'.

  24. Could have been a 5-1 there if Zagar had looked after his partner. Jeppeson did all the hard work too clamping Bewley down.

  28. Yes - and Thursday, 5th June is in their schedule as a tbc. BSN confirmed on their Facebook page that the meeting covered will depend on tonight's results 👍

  32. Agree,I you analyse Sat ,he passed somebody in each of his heats to Top the scorers. The rest bar Freddie if they didn’t gate they were poor and just hoped to get 6-7 points to make the Semi,s and take their chance.Zmarzlik is a complete Professional.

  33. This is my view as well ,he is overall just so much better than the rest !

  34. I don't follow either of these teams but if you don't do Facebook then where are you going to hear about it, there was no preview on the British speedway website when I posted earlier they just cobbled something together late on, no wonder the sports dying a death, national league was a decent standard a few years ago, now little more than a glorified training session, and they still expect people to pay for it, no wonder people are walking away.

  35. What we have is the best it can be Dean,... Far too many opportunities have been missed... As has been said, many times, if you went on Dragons Den with the UK's operating model and business plan, it would be laughed out of the room... Not enough employees to open your doors? Then borrow them from your competitors, and let them use yours... Employees cannot work certain nights? Then change your opening hours to suit them, don't worry that your customers may not be able to attend on those nights but would be happy to visit you on other nights in greater numbers... Employees wanting to only work six months of the year? Then make sure you charge your customers a pretty penny to be able to pay them enough so they get six months off. However. Even by charging your customers "top doller" for 15 mins entertainment, you still wont earn twelve months money by only opening six months of the year, but don't worry, because your competitor's are doing exactly the same thing... The race to the bottom is almost over for UK Speedway. Covid should have been the reset button, with new and radical ideas, but instead we had the "same old, same old" with the result being the "same old, same old" ever dwindling fan numbers and interest.. Let's see what radical ideas they come up with now Birmingham will be gone,? A "purple helmet" may be possibly quite appropriate...? F'naaar, F'naaar... Edit. Just realised the promotional and marketing plan hasn't been mentioned... "Bring a Friend" should be ground breaking enough, (but obviously don't tell them how much it is to get in till they are there)...

  36. Maybe Zmarzlik is just so far ahead of the rest? If you removed him then I'm sure Lindgren/Holder/Bewley/Lambert/etc. would share world titles between them, just like previous generations had multiple riders pushing each other. I'd enjoy watching Zmarzlik against the top 5/8 from 20 years ago, too, in fairness. I think he'd be very competitive. Laguta had 4 seasons to beat Zmarzlik btw, and managed it once. I don't think he was a genuine long-term challenger, he just had the season of his life. Like Chris Holder did in 2012. You can't take it away from him, but he won't go down as a true great, I also don't think he'd have won another.

  44. If it turns out that Glasgow are not considering replacing Ashton Boughen then I for one, will be sorely disappointed. Yeah, I feel sorry for the guy but if we have any aspirations of doing well this year, we have to be ruthless.

  45. Its on this forum….so it must be true ! why would anyone from the club , or any club, take any notice of the crap that appears on forums ?

  46. Difficult to prove either way isn’t it? It happened earlier in the season. He WAS struggling with a bit of an injury at that time though if my memory isn’t letting me down, but it’s something that’s open to abuse. It’s basically a free tactical substitute isn’t it? A rider at rising star shouldn’t in any circumstances, be replaced by a senior reserve. If a rising star is injured and can’t take remaining programmed rides, then that team has to take the bad luck and go with one rider.

  47. No otherwise Tate could not have replaced him but I dont think Mountain qualified as an rs anyway. I think sticking with Jake maybe a mistake but I suppose as always Belle Vue want to be seen as supporting their rs so wont drop him.

  48. It would be a shame to see Birmingham struggle (more than they already are) but they shouldn't "invent" rules mid-season to keep them competitive, when year after year they pick awful teams. If the league knew teams would struggle, then should have made a lower limit, allowing Oxford & Birmingham to be more competitive, rather than "gifting" them an underserved facility. However Birmingham were only given a 75% facility for Zagar & effectively replaced him with Hume till he returned. So if Brummies riding under strength then wasn't a threat to them finishing the season, why would it be now? Edit: I've just realised I'm looking for logic & consistency in decisions made by the BSPL. That probably answers my question lol!
