I keep reading on this forum - mainly the premiership section - that speedway has loads of problems, for example, track preparation, no atmosphere, no kids, no young adults just 'old folk', riders not interacting with fans and missing riders. Track preparation - Despite the heat, it was still 25C when I got home at 10.30pm, there was no dust whatsoever and there wasn't an over watered track just a superb smooth one that provided fantastic racing. No atmosphere - the main stand which was virtually full, roared when the 2 youngsters got their first 5-1 in Heat 2 and thereafter when Barker and Howarth, etc, etc had great battles yet again people got to their feet cheering, clapping and clearly enjoying the evening's entertainment. Nicolai Klindt seemed amazed at the applause he got on his laps of honour and came around again after his last race. The back straight terracing and other stands also were busy. No kids - there were a lot kids some of whom participated in two races one for under 10s and one for over 10s - an idea I believe pinched from Plymouth! No young adults - again good numbers some of whom had brought along their kids. Old folk - yes quite a few but all happy to let some of the new fans know what was going on. No interaction with fans - laps of honour saluting the fans and lots of autographs later. Missing riders - both teams a full strength. Yes speedway has problems but last night was just pure entertainment. There were a couple of fans from Leicester in the stand and they seemed a bit surprised by the whole package. Proved you don't need to doctor tracks to win meetings at home, Mr Dixon đ11 points

Sheâs once again proving to be one of the worst refs in the world. Who in the right mind gives her a GP, wouldnât even give her a national league meeting.5 points

Good post, was a very enjoyable night, racing was class last night as was the track and also a very good atmosphere what's not to like.5 points

Gusts scoring 11 points is "rubbish", McDiarmid scoring 6+1 is "rubbish"?5 points

A truly amazing performance given the challenge facing him with such an injury.. I am sure you will agree....4 points

Why not just go on the speedway updates site, thatâs what itâs there for.4 points

Very impressed with my first visit to Ashfield in over a decade. Great nights entertainment on a marvellous race surface which allowed the riders to express themselves. I left the stadium buzzing. Not a fan of Nicolai Kindt but thought last night he looked really classy. He has been struggling at this level but no issues last night.4 points

Kurtz fast gaining a reputation for "full on, get out of my way racing"... Hence riders move over, (even Freddie!), similar to when BZ flies under you... They know not to try and block without consequence... The only thing holding Dan back...3 points

They said there was a problem with the water truck, whether that was a mechanical problem, pilot error or bad instructions they didn't say... Say hello to Sarah Desert for me lol đ3 points

When you get riders saying that it must make the track staff and promotors happy Tobias Thomsen said the same thing after Poole were here3 points

I think everyone deserves a second chance - however didn't he already have that after a previous 'incident'.......3 points

How in the name was Wright, Bears' Rider of the Meeting it was clearly Ace Pijper3 points

Janowski is more committed to British Speedway than Brady Kurtz. Magic maybe scoring poorly for the Spires but it's not down to a lack of effort that's for sure, He still turns up every week and gives it 100% instead of not showing up at all.3 points

Double figures from Dan on his return from injury at Glasgow last night. Right back on it. Huge boost. Now fingers crossed Doyley comes through tonightâs GP unscathed and we can have our full 1-7 back on track Monday.3 points
-
Brady is doing what is best for him, his career, his achievements in the sport. His club career is secondary. Jason Doyle came back too soon as he tends to do because he doesnt want to let his club down but he is at a different stage in his career to Brady, he knows he has little chance of challenging to be world champion again so club success is more important to him.3 points

Nobody is knocking Kurtz as a rider ⊠fair to say he has stepped up a level this season But to ride on in the GP last weekâŠ. Then miss Thursday only to get a maximum then win the GP is early taking the mickey out of his UK club No way he will pull out Monday he will be there for a heroâs reception on a track he rides well2 points

Bandits deserved winners even without their top 2 riders. Excellent guest in Howarth and the rest of the top 5 all chipped in. Home team attacked the track much more. For the Bears it was meeting lost when King fell at the front of Heat 3 and IRR went into operation, but hugely disappointed in the overall team display, particularly Riss who threw away points in numerous rides. Hope Danny hasnât damaged his wrist too badly. Not an enjoyable night from a Bears perspective .2 points

Kelvin always seems a bit behind the action, but when you're in London and only seeing what we see it's going to happen2 points

Riss showing a perfect example of what happens to you if you donât ride wide at Berwick.2 points

Bart looking a bit slapped arse, forced himself a handshake with Brady. I suppose that's what being a serial winner is all about though, losing hurts. Anyway well done Brady, clearly the right decision to miss Thursday in favour of giving himself the extra recovery time.2 points

A bit disappointed Brady said it was the best moment of his career so far... Hello Brady!!!! Winning the league with Belle Vue and probably something or other with Poole!!! Come on now... Have some perspective....2 points

Anyone else find the GP series desperately boring? Just spent the day watching test cricket and the level of entertainment is on a different level.2 points

Because she is consistently useless... And is hidden from criticism due to gender politics... The list of dreadful decisions, (with TV reviews available) is growing, and truly staggeringly bad...2 points

She seems to do this on purpose almost as if to be the centre of attention. Make the complete opposite decision to which EVERYONE else can see is clearly the right one.2 points

Turnbullâs at it again. How can she classified as an international level official? You wouldnât even expect to see that poor of decision in the NDLâŠ2 points

So hot today they got the track prep ok for the free practise then all wrong for qualifiers with too much water and then Sarah desert for the spring race! Lovely day for it though! Gorzow over Manchester for me always. Speedway city and the atmosphere around the place is like a speedway party đđ» whether the racing is as good, probably not, but Iâd rather spend my money here than Manchester!2 points

Jake being ill last minute and using RR killed us. 5 under performing riders, with only Luke and Connor on the pace. Another lack lustre display and play offs looking a very remote possibility. I can see a mass clear out of riders at the end of a very short season for us. Congrats to Oxford , clearly Masters has sussed our track now and Voulas a great guest too.2 points

Bears arenât winning this one without Riss and Mulford improving their scores from last night and getting a decent return out of Lambert.2 points

That really isnât the flex you think it is. In fact, itâs embarrassing. You won last year for one reason and one reason only, the best team in the league by a country mile had their team ripped to shreds through injury. You simply became the Belle Vue vultures and picked over a dead carcass. That really isnât anything to be proud of, Phil. If youâre a win at all costs type of person, donât care how itâs done or how hollow a victory it is as long as you get your name on the trophy, then thatâs up to you. Iâm sure all you Belle Vue fans sat there getting a big stiffy with news of injuries once again filtering through from Ipswich way, dreaming of a repeat. The Belle Vue vultures once again circling their prey..2 points
