As much as Kurtz has been fantastic this season and a breath of fresh air. With Three GPs to go. He would have to win all three and Zmarzlik have a stinker in one of them. I can't see that happening. Even after a very average night for Zmarzlik. He still showed the class of a world champion by coming 2nd in the final. and in doing so, he only dropped two points to Kurtz.

Tatum (fighting to stay in the championship) He's off his rocker!! Zmarzlik showed in that race. He might no be the fastest, but he sure pulls it out when needed. Such a fantastic and brave pass in turn 3

A late change to the R.E.D Bandits, powered by STS line-up for tonight’s Cab Direct Championship clash with Edinburgh. Former Monarchs number one Craig Cook has failed to recover fully from Covid and had to withdraw from the derby ckash. We’ll once again use rider replacement for him, as we did in the victory over Redcar, with all our other six riders eligible to take an extra ride.

I think it’s maybe his hero worship and idealisation of the Comets and the ownership that means he could potentially have the blinkers on.

I don't like to say that was one of the dullest meetings I've seen for a long time...but it was, really, wasn't it? I don't know if it's just me, but this fascination that WBD have with absolutely rattling through meetings just does nothing for entertainment. They seem to have decided that, because fans wanted slicker meetings, they'd just bang out every 4 heats at the speed of light. There's a balance between endlessly dragging a meeting out and where we're at now. What's the rush? The speedway is the attraction, where we all hurrying off to? I don't think it helps that we don't really get much connection to the riders. I used to love U21 racing. Seeing the next generation coming through. Now, it feels like we just watch a collection of riders appear in a handful of heats and that's it. Barely any interviews or anything else. Maybe it's because they don't ride in GB much these days, so we don't get to know them? All in all, bit crap IMO. Hopefully the GP is better.

I’d say English / Australian riders should try and learn Polish as that is where they decide to go and make big money 😅 English people feel so entitled in life but to be fair, we as a nation are pretty dumbed down expecting everyone else to speak English. We are a lazy country and now it’s showing how poor our economy is and how better other countries are, including Poland.

Seriously, it’s that attitude that brings this sport down. I’ve no skin in the game but as someone who quite happily puts money aside each week to attend my club. If I were a working fan I’d be a bit p’d off. Do I think the fans deserve a news letter outlining everything, no. A polite statement to say “we are doing our best and we appreciate your patience” would go a long way. For me speedway is a get together for three generations of our family. We love our trackside evenings out but if that’s in doubt we would spend the money the clubs need elsewhere. In an age of social media and public image speedway needs to do better. The days of waiting for the star to come out are gone. What could really save the sport is public engagement not secrecy.

You are right but, no volunteers, no flag marshals, start marshals,pit marshals, ticket sellers,no gate operators and many other jobs such as laying sheets on a dog track,painting kick boards,cleaning air fence, sweeping pit/cleaning changing rooms and toilets. I'm sure I've missed a few, however the jobs listed are done by a small band of die hards who can only do so much. Sometimes when it's very hot or in a holiday season those few become less. If it wasn't for volunteers British Speedway would have closed years ago.
