Did you tell him he rode like a novice before or after the pictures? š6 points

It's okay everybody, I emailed the SCB early doors this morning asking which rule was breached and I'm expecting a reply very shortly š¤5 points

I see this from you a lot, Mike/Ouch is similar. Just goes to show the mouthy miserable minority on here donāt translate to what actually exists on the terraces. Iām sure youād say that it was completely meaningless that Ipswich snatched the bonus point last night seeing as theyāre already guaranteed a play off place. So what difference does the extra point make? Well to those there last night it meant something. The atmosphere in the closing races when the 5-1ās were coming and the bonus point was secured in the final heat was excellent. The crowd were fully aware of what was needed due to the excellent presenter Kevin keeping everyone up to speed, and the roar when the presenter confirmed the bonus point had been secured spoke volumes. I guess the likes of Birmingham and Oxford and probably Lynn are now all riding meaningless meetings so may as well now just forfeit their remaining fixtures and weāll just fast forward to the play offs and we can all have an early finish this year? After all these are only meaningless āqualifiersā. Never known such a negative bunch of grumpy b@stards that follow a particular sport like we seem to have with this one. We have Lynn on Monday, Iām pretty sure their supporters wonāt see it as meaningless if they do a number again on their Suffolk rivals. Life is short, enjoy every meeting while you can and savour any victory the team you support manages to get, whether your team is at the top of the table or rock bottom.3 points

every track has it's merits, even Plymouth (did i just say that!!), and it's riders that can adapt will always be better .. no point having all big fast tracks like Poland3 points

Little chance of councils backing any speedway club as they don't have enough money to do the basics like potholes,SEND etc.3 points

What everybody has to remember is every track has it's amazing races and rubbish races even the "best track in the world" NSS! 99% of the amazing races come from the best riders! Maybe BV fans didn't watch the 2nd GP at NSS when by the end of it was just a outside line track only with hardly any passing? It's the fact Ipswich was the ones making the passing tonight made it a rubbish trackš UP THE WITCHES!3 points

Sounds like a humdinger and unusual for updates to get it so wrong as from experience they are always bang on. Win or lose Iām always interested in the racing and have used updates when deciding to buy the dvd (re run are excellent btw). Can you give me your take on the action after bend three lap one as it does come across as a truly awful spectacle when reading updates. Well done Ipswich and especially Danny. I think this was his best meeting ever at Foxhall given the GP opposition, top bloke, please for him. For The Aces some might say itās part of the master plan that went wrong but donāt look back in anger and just roll with it. Aces fans, stop crying your heart out and look forward to Monday when once again we will be supersonic, dāyou know what I mean.3 points

Deffo agree with you, no space to overtake. I mean I didnāt see king do both Bewley and Kurtz in the same bend at all tonight, oh sorry and Thompson doing overtakes, oh sorry and Emil and Doyle passing Belle Vue riders, oh sorry and Brennan going on the inside and then out. Deffo no room to overtake though if you canāt actually race a different track š3 points

rule 324 subsection 32 part 4 appendix 13 any team causing he bspa to put out a generic statement and should there be a monday in the week and the away fixture from 2 weeks ago should result in a win for either team or a draw then the team will be deducted some points maybe 2 or 3 and sent to the naughty corner until they are really really sorry3 points

Excellent post... Rozelle was initially a properly disliked Commissioner by many owners, (and some players with big personal sponsorship)... However, he knew that so many working in a "I am all right Jack" SILO, couldn't ever be successful for the sport overall... As he knew that one day the historically successful teams would end up playing themselves and no one else!! Which would mean sponsors and TV deserting in droves.. Sharing revenues equally, inc official merchandise regardless of which team sold most, and having national league sponsors front and centre, in front of any local, or personal agreements, (and sharing the money equally), saw the sport generically move forward... The historically big teams are still pretty much the same ones, as, organically they are the biggest, but the "cannon fodder" teams nowadays at least have a chance, and big money coming in from shared TV, merchandise and sponsorship agreements, regardless of position in their conference... A perfect blueprint for UK Speedway I would suggest... In fact, I suggested the same thing well over a decade ago on here!!! British Speedway should be "The Brand" with one overarching "leader" who is given complete autonomy, but held accountable by the owners, with every track being a franchise that can be lost if that franchise doesn't meet the standards expected of the overall generic business of "British Speedway Ltd"... All TV money, sponsorship and merchandise money, pooled with each team getting an equal share regardless of their own sales or TV matches... UK Speedway will fall together, if they don't work together as a collective...3 points

I did it semi professionally for 20 years, rode in all 3 leagues + running my business at the same time and was never in credit at the bank in all those years. But cause I was sort of caught up in the moment and loving it and always seem to have cash in my pocket and I never actually rode for the money I didnāt realise how much it was actually costing me until I retired, I suddenly started noticing I was actually in credit and making decent money at my business, speedway was literally bleeding me dry, would I do do it again ? Hell yes, somethings in life you just canāt buy and if Iām honest looking back I did waste a bit on flash parts3 points

Update on Danyon Hume taken from the Danyon Hume Racing page. Hey guys, Just another update on Danyon, he underwent 5 hours of surgery on Monday which was successful and is now managing to take a few steps. The physios and doctors are happy with the progress he is making and in their words āDanyon is a warriorā. We both really appreciate all the messages/calls, we have received so much love and support it hasnāt gone unnoticed and I have read everyoneās messages to Danyon. Danyon will get round to responding to everyone at some point however he is concentrating on his road to recovery at the moment. Thank you so much for all the love. Jade x2 points

Top 4 in a 7 team league though is ridiculous rendering most league matches meaningless... the only meaningful matches, perversely, are against Birmingham, Oxford & Kings Lynn, beat those and you're in the pay offs.2 points

Think you missed the joke, it was how Tatum would commentate the meeting. I didn't realise BV fans would be that sensitive to take this as a dig š2 points

During all the years the British Final was held at Coventry i dont recall any Coventry track expert racking up British Titles, no matter where its held and i agree it should be shared around but as Phil says there were no other tracks willing to host it. Problem today there really isnt any other British rider who is going to threaten the likes of Bewley and Lambert, gone are the days of Collins, Morton, Lee Jessup, Betts, Carter, when the meeting was hotly contested.2 points

Sorry yes I forgot speedway is all about going flat out on big fast tracks and if you miss the gate just ride out wide and ride around people ā¦. Thatās the trouble these days is riders only ride one type of track and canāt change ⦠Iāve said many times watch riders like Loram Screen and Ward around Eastbourne and Arena thatās how to ride a speedway bike Itās ok having these throttle jockeys at home but you will always come up short away from home The home match against us at your place was boring gate and go See I like close speedway racing and last night at Foxhall was close fast racing and defending lines ⦠overtakes by King and Doyle and Dan Tā¦. And heat 14 with Zach Cook trying inside and out and Dan blocking him cleverly was great racing ā¦. At your place cook would have gone wide and blasted around ⦠yawn We had Ellis withdraw injured and Foord scoring 0 and Jenkins would have had at least 4 so the margin would have been even bigger The fact is with your current 1-7 you have zero chance of beating a fully fit Ipswich 1-7 over 2 legs because your guys canāt ride our place ā¦..Kurtz when leading left everyone for dust.. Miss the gate rode like a novice or simply not willing to go for it as he has a world championship to go for (which I hope he wins by the way) ⦠chatted to Brady after and was happy to have pictures with my 1 year old granddaughter nice guy to be fair and wished him well2 points

Welcome to Foxhall stadium, home of the Ipswich witches, they are my favourites to win the league this season with a solid 1-7. Heat 1 gets us underway, Jason Doyle and Danny King in the yellow and white helmets looking for a solid start. Heat two, young Vinnie Foord. I donāt know much about Vinnie but what I do know is that he is a speedway rider and he rides speedway bikes. Young Tate comes in for the injured Norick, sorry no thatās Ben Cook, apologies Zack Cook. Heat 15 now⦠scores locked at 51-33 to the home team, Bewley and Kurtz need a big 5-1 here to make it all level! Emil is at the tapes, great to see him back in British speedway. Wow what a race⦠speedway from the top draw !!!! Just in case you missed the commentary last night š2 points

Spot on. it is just so very unlikely (and sad) that todayās UK promoters would go along with such a plan given the organisational structure that is the BSPA which in itself exists in a time warp.2 points

Hopefully Tate can use tonight to have a good end to the season. I believe there is a good rider in there. Danny King continues his imperious form when Redcar were up against it. Great result all things considered.1 point

If Berwick have any hopes of play offs they need sign a middle order rider and get Hagon to reserve Plymouth have managed to sign Klima so riders there if they look hard enough1 point

Itās a select few that canāt accept they arenāt actually very good this year. 3rd best in fact in the league and the worst team to enter the knock out cup by looking at the results. Finishing top matters to me because I want both semi and final second legs at home, they donāt mind because half of them wonāt attend the meeting but moan about the result š One question, did Belle Vue use the same methanol down last night as the previous meeting that Mark lemon moaned about ? š1 point

You wont win the league with your current reserves. I thought Tate would do ok but you would have been better to stick with Vuolas.1 point

Apparently they never change their line up during the season except for drafting in Lambert to win the play offs! I am surprised at the vitriol aimed at the track, you would think the NSS had passing on every bend on every lap and every race was like the British Final.1 point

It definitely should. Know Iām an absolute bore but there should be no assumptions or guesses on this. I know speedway is worse than the masons for secrets but the SCB should be 100% transparent otherwise how can there be parity in speedway.1 point

So what should the SCB do, ignore rule breaches? However what it does need to do is explain what rule has been breached.1 point

Can only have a rearranged fixture for Friday if you can get the potential opponent to also agree to it. If they donāt then you have no fixture, Itās pretty simple to work out.1 point

I attended all my clubs home matches and pay £20+ £3.50 for a program I also take my two kids who get free entry. They both get food and a drink and a sweet and more often than not we spend a fiver on raffle tickets. This normal comes to £20-£30. Would I pay £30 to get in? possibly. I may be more fussy about which meetings i attend. Would I be feeding the kids before we head to the track and sticking a bag of sweets and a bottle of juice in their pockets? Definitely. Putting the price up is just going to push people further away imo.1 point

Nobody would turn up for £30. If you think British speedway premiership is worth £30 you're dreaming. It doesn't have even half the superstars Poland has yet you can pick up a ticket in Poland for £13 for Ektraliga, with top quality stadia and everything that goes with it.1 point
