I believe Mildenhall found an alternative supplier and that was allegedly why the BSPL/BSPA refused to licence the club. Another closed shop operation from those in charge of the sport. What is the matter with the morons who run the sport in this country. Time for more clubs to jump ship, join NORA and break the stranglehold of those who are determined to take the sport to its nadir.

What do you expect the Club to do if they don't have any news to bring? No point in making up a pack of lies in a statment just for the sake of it, Because if nothing comes from it then it'll only end up in a heap of backlash. With patience comes frustration which is understandable but playing devils advocate, Chris Louis updated the fans when an agreement was in place and if it is the highly rumoured Mayfield Sports, Then Chris has stuck to his word all along about leaving the Club in safe hands.

Can’t disagree with you here. Louis wasn’t fair to the Ipswich supporters early doors no matter what his defenders will say and I was one of his critics on here. But, don’t agree with the latest rant either. Louis isn’t flogging an old pair of jeans that no longer fit on gumtree, he’s selling his business and his living. People will take the p!ss with their side splitting hilarious jibes of “starting gate and broken down tractor”, but it’s obviously far more complex than that. He made his living out of Ipswich speedway just like his father John did before him. He issued an update just over a week ago saying everything was agreed, but he couldn’t go in to detail until it was all completed. What else can he say in the meantime?? He put a timescale of “within two weeks” on his statement, and that runs up until Tuesday next week so I’m not sure why anyone would criticise him now. Even if it runs past that, these things sometimes do and that’s out of his control. But he probably felt pressured in issuing some sort of update, which he’s done. As hard as it is, we all now need to wait until Louis issues a further update, which he’s promised to do.

You are aware of the cost of someone being in prison to the tax payer ,surely it is better even from a financial point of view for him to return to his chosen profession and hopefully contribute to society .

Lets face it filling 6 teams competitively is going to be a struggle. There were development leagues (below NL) flourishing and full of riders driving all round the country to ride 2nd halves for at best a drop of fuel. Competition was fierce and it was a breeding ground for NL reserves and many many big names have passed through. All this despite being treated with contempt by many clubs and countless fixtures cancelled due to curfew or other daft reasons. However more and more blocks were put in the way of the volunteers running these sides that eventually one by one the either gave up or were pushed out. Then the assault on the amateur meetings started, then Nora and it will continue until there is nothing left. The horse has bolted, the numbers in the youth rounds reflect that, the opportunities to have a reset have been fumbled with terrible silencers, Gerhard engines and rev limiters. Enjoy whats left because its not coming back.

That’s the team we all wanted. Fair play to Bates for sorting it we all owe him a big thanks another year of speedway at Sheffield is good news and that team is as good as any. Jack, Chris and Picko will be a great trio of headleaders again im hoping Chris can lift his form back to 2024 standard. Leon and Anders in the main body of the team will have to find another gear again mainly away from home. Jye and Killeen for me are good signings at this level and will stay at reserve. Killeen hopefully with the right people around him will find his feet in the premiership

Does anyone know what effort or incentives were offered to Mildenhall, Kent and Isle of Wight to rejoin mainstream speedway?

No not at all but if a rider on a 10 point average is losing money riding and a days wage on top of it then it becomes massively unviable can you imagine the losses a 3 pointer is incurring

And me, + a few biccies. Have take bit of an issue with recent Star however & their 'winners & losers awards of 2025' tho. They branded Glasgow as 'losers' after a season running neck & neck with Poole for the Champs title, only losing out by - one race, yet not a mensh of Scunny who finished bottom. No bias here, as I know people who are heavily involved at both tracks and I do know what it feels like when your team wins trophies or finishes bottom / last. I very much know which I prefer. And 2nd ISN'T 'the first of the losers', it means you performed very well on that occasion / season and only one competitor or team were better than you. Don't believe me: ask the competitor / team placed 3rd or 4th if they'd care to swap places....

Well I wouldn’t of and I’m abit annoyed by the way it was arranged to keep me off doing it after I told him last week I would do this week, the whole thing was arranged by private message rather than the what’s app group that it always is, did Godfrey make it a condition of him coming on that me and crabby wouldn’t be on ? I could be wrong but a thought occured to me one of the things that 'didn't tally' with UK speedway or whatever it was Louis said, could the abolition of clubs retaining riders as assets. I.e. £,000's of assets wiped from a club's value. Like I said, just a thought....

It all makes too much sense when you really think about it. Probably Pete's one and only chance to get back into the top level of the Sport in the UK considering the PREM only has a few teams. Don't see a scenario where another opportunity would open up at PREM level when it comes to BV, KL, LEI and SHE.

Pete Adams told SS a few months back he wants back in now that resurrecting Wolverhampton does not look likely at the moment. I think he still has plenty to offer and would be incredibly excited if I was an Ipswich fan if he ends up being confirmed. With regards to Tai, he has said that nobody from the UK has been in touch. Whether that has now changed only time will tell. But given Pete is like a second father to him, if he comes calling I don't think Tai would say no.

Imagine if the sport was motox not speedway, how much do you get paid for that ?I more than most in this sport know all about costs, time and everything else that goes with riding in the national league, I’ve ridden more meetings in the national/anatuer/conference league than any other rider ever,over the years I posted on here and numerous platforms how the league should be run, what riders should be in it, the maximum they should earn, how riders can actually make money at this level or at least break even and just about every other aspect of the 3rd tier but it always fell on deaf ears

No help was given to Mildenhall who moved heaven and earth to make their fence safe. They covered all of the metal posts with very high density foam AND have an air fence in front of that, yet it was deemed not acceptable because they didn't get the foam from the one and only recommended supplier. They ran two highly successful meetings under the NORA banner last year with no problems and had big crowds. I appreciate that rider safety is the number one priority, but when I stand at Kings Lynn where just behind the wooden fence that isn't protected by the air fence, I see a huge concrete armco barrier, I wonder how that can be safe yet Mildenhall's fence is regarded as unsafe?

Looks like the BSPL have given up on Speedway! Just when the sport is in its greatest need ever for home grown talent the chimps in charge decide to cut one of the competitions altogether and Belle Vue, Plymouth & Scuntfield elect not to run with one of those being run by the Chairman of the BSPL... You just couldn't make this 5h1t up!

So many complain about not enough British riders coming through but then expect the youngsters to get into the sport making huge losses for the privilege?

Agree with you Glasgow in the losers category was a strange one, its a pity they didnt get it over the line in the last heat but when you consider the racing/entertainment factor between the two legs they were easily the winners, nothing about that club puts them in a losers category, yes its nice to win trophies but for me its great racing i pay to see winning is a bonus. Not a mention of Scunny well cant upset Rob

Steelers were generated purely to boost the numbers, Sheffield lost interest quickly and more so with new ownership. Scunthorpe won't want to take on the project to run at a continual loss. Redcar was a more optimistic venture given there were plenty of club links and breeding ground for potential CL reserves but from all ive heard its been poorly received by fans and attendances have been challenging. I would be delighted to see both sides take their place in the NL next season but even one would be a bonus.

Only time will tell how good Cooper can be, if he can achieve as much as Danny King he will have a good career.
