We would be eternally grateful if you could spare two minutes to cast a vote for us. The sponsor of the event is the company that evicted us, the awkwardness if we won would be epic. Details here . . . . https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=pfbid0jVbPWKYhcPLyyVyyn7yovxywpADVHZZJ3Y9PMLamX1QcpVyuKcUwvzFM7nTjLTh8l&id=615532249225285 points

But apparently the management of said company continue to supply speedway tracks. I believe Mildenhall found an alternative supplier and that was allegedly why the BSPL/BSPA refused to licence the club. Another closed shop operation from those in charge of the sport. What is the matter with the morons who run the sport in this country. Time for more clubs to jump ship, join NORA and break the stranglehold of those who are determined to take the sport to its nadir.3 points

What do you expect the Club to do if they don't have any news to bring? No point in making up a pack of lies in a statment just for the sake of it, Because if nothing comes from it then it'll only end up in a heap of backlash. With patience comes frustration which is understandable but playing devils advocate, Chris Louis updated the fans when an agreement was in place and if it is the highly rumoured Mayfield Sports, Then Chris has stuck to his word all along about leaving the Club in safe hands.3 points

Stinks of desperation . Opening a new track with no fanbase and slinging them into the top flight. Whoever is fronting this will lose a fortune.2 points

Tidy side, would prefer Rew to musielek personally, also if Jenkins isnāt getting the 25% reduction for a second time Iād love to see young Mitch McDairmaid at no.6 very impressed with him when I saw him last season and would fit2 points

Canāt disagree with you here. Louis wasnāt fair to the Ipswich supporters early doors no matter what his defenders will say and I was one of his critics on here. But, donāt agree with the latest rant either. Louis isnāt flogging an old pair of jeans that no longer fit on gumtree, heās selling his business and his living. People will take the p!ss with their side splitting hilarious jibes of āstarting gate and broken down tractorā, but itās obviously far more complex than that. He made his living out of Ipswich speedway just like his father John did before him. He issued an update just over a week ago saying everything was agreed, but he couldnāt go in to detail until it was all completed. What else can he say in the meantime?? He put a timescale of āwithin two weeksā on his statement, and that runs up until Tuesday next week so Iām not sure why anyone would criticise him now. Even if it runs past that, these things sometimes do and thatās out of his control. But he probably felt pressured in issuing some sort of update, which heās done. As hard as it is, we all now need to wait until Louis issues a further update, which heās promised to do.2 points

You are aware of the cost of someone being in prison to the tax payer ,surely it is better even from a financial point of view for him to return to his chosen profession and hopefully contribute to society .2 points

But he could have been more re-assuring over the period since he said it was up for sale as it was still possible there'd be no speedway at Foxhall in 2026, which is what was concerning for many.2 points

Lets face it filling 6 teams competitively is going to be a struggle. There were development leagues (below NL) flourishing and full of riders driving all round the country to ride 2nd halves for at best a drop of fuel. Competition was fierce and it was a breeding ground for NL reserves and many many big names have passed through. All this despite being treated with contempt by many clubs and countless fixtures cancelled due to curfew or other daft reasons. However more and more blocks were put in the way of the volunteers running these sides that eventually one by one the either gave up or were pushed out. Then the assault on the amateur meetings started, then Nora and it will continue until there is nothing left. The horse has bolted, the numbers in the youth rounds reflect that, the opportunities to have a reset have been fumbled with terrible silencers, Gerhard engines and rev limiters. Enjoy whats left because its not coming back.2 points

Decent side with continuity in the key spots - reserves could be a weakness but overall i reckon they will be fine top 5 spot awaits š2 points

Thatās the team we all wanted. Fair play to Bates for sorting it we all owe him a big thanks another year of speedway at Sheffield is good news and that team is as good as any. Jack, Chris and Picko will be a great trio of headleaders again im hoping Chris can lift his form back to 2024 standard. Leon and Anders in the main body of the team will have to find another gear again mainly away from home. Jye and Killeen for me are good signings at this level and will stay at reserve. Killeen hopefully with the right people around him will find his feet in the premiership2 points

Does anyone know what effort or incentives were offered to Mildenhall, Kent and Isle of Wight to rejoin mainstream speedway?2 points

No not at all but if a rider on a 10 point average is losing money riding and a days wage on top of it then it becomes massively unviable can you imagine the losses a 3 pointer is incurring2 points

And me, + a few biccies. Have take bit of an issue with recent Star however & their 'winners & losers awards of 2025' tho. They branded Glasgow as 'losers' after a season running neck & neck with Poole for the Champs title, only losing out by - one race, yet not a mensh of Scunny who finished bottom. No bias here, as I know people who are heavily involved at both tracks and I do know what it feels like when your team wins trophies or finishes bottom / last. I very much know which I prefer. And 2nd ISN'T 'the first of the losers', it means you performed very well on that occasion / season and only one competitor or team were better than you. Don't believe me: ask the competitor / team placed 3rd or 4th if they'd care to swap places....2 points

"2026 Season With the 2026 Season fast approaching, we would like to keep our customers informed of the current situation. With the well-publicised delay to the British Speedway AGM, our arrangements for the new season have been pushed back later than usual. We are currently in talks to confirm a new contract and building new packages alongside the BSPL to bring even more speedway to your living room for 2026. BSN remains fully committed to British Speedway and excited for the season ahead. As soon as we have further clarity, weāll announce our plans and 2026 pricing via our socials, website, and email." Looks like things are far from settled for the 2026 season. I wonder if BSPL are looking to make up some shortfall in lost TV money from BSN?2 points

I not sure about Woffy to be honest thatās my main concern with that side. Lots of question marks around fitness etc plus doesnāt seem to have the manner of Doyle & Emil. Unfortunately those two are irreplaceable on many levels. Regardless of who is in the side Foxhall is going to have a very different feel.1 point

Last GSA in 2024 was 5.51 or 6.29 incl BP. (so he fits) Still only 20 and will ride in POL U24 and in POL Lge 2 in 2026, Better rider imo than Bowes or Hook and still improving. Smart move if the Fords could convince him and Middlo can offer him a place to stay. His POL Exl side gave him a 5 year contract when he first went there which is saying something.1 point

I saw him say last year he was keen to get back in and it won't be with Wolves anytime soon if ever so this might be his chance1 point

Agreed I would love to see the US come again I started going in 1984 so missed Penhall but can remember test matches and team cups at Lynn when the Moran brothers, Kings, Sigalos, Schwartz, Cookie, Sam and Correy were in town all super talented exciting riders and the place was packed to the rafters. As you say Hancock and Hamill came a tad later but sadly the US has bigger issues sourcing new talent than the UK. I always bang on about the days of Loram and Henka but Kelly Moran and Cookie in particular were both supreme natural talents also but just lacked that extra 5-10% dedication that seperated natural talent from the very top.1 point

We are all frustrated, but to be fair to Louis, I donāt there is a great deal he can say at the moment. Firstly, there will a Non Disclosure Agreement in place which stops either party discussing the potential transaction in any detail. Secondly, Financial Due Diligence, Legal Due Diligence and the drafting of contracts all needs to happen which is normally a lengthy process. If they achieve all of the above in 5-6 weeks, which looks likely to be the case, then I think they will have done remarkably well.1 point

Chris was probably speaking the truth on the radio at the time because something has clearly happend behind the scenes that's caused a fire to be lighted which has seen a knock on effect at Ipswich from top to bottom. That's exactly what I mean about putting statments out to the fans without an agreement with a buyer in place, You're only setting yourself up for huge backlash if the potential buyer drops out. No point in getting everyone's hopes up for nothing as it'll only leave them feeling even worse than they did when the original statement was put out in regards to a Club sale. Adam Ellis' Dad would know so I think that's a strong indicator in regards to Mayfield Sports being more than the usual gossip.1 point

Itās not just a case of track time. In this country the sport is a team sport and team craft is just as important as track craft. 2nd halves have increasingly become a problem because you could turn up at a track and the 2nd half gets cancelled time off work, get the bikes ready travelling to find the 2nd half is treated with complete contempt like the poor relation.1 point

I read the press release as that they would be in charge of the premiership in 26 because the powers that be haven't found a commercial partner. I know there's a lot of positive feedback about BSN but personally I think it's still a bit ropey to me. I watched the free stream from Ipswich and one of the races was viewed entirely from the start line cam so you could only see the riders for about 3 seconds per lap š1 point

Only 6 teams confirmed is a travesty, but the bigger issue is only 1 home / 1 away per team, a total of 10 meetings per team. This is absolutely nowhere near enough meetings for the youngsters to develop. Why not 2 home and 2 away?! I know this was a very long time ago but in my short stint in the mavericks we rode 24 meetings in one season.1 point

Credit to BSN for wanting to keep their customers informed. If the BSPL had any credibility, Iād say the lack of transparency and information was disappointing, but theyāre not, so it isnāt.1 point

It is noticeable that over the past few years the Speedway Star has become more critical in it's comments on the running of the sport in the UK.. With plenty of giving voice to the fans off the various social media accounts linked to the sport.. I would imagine they had to be more circumspect when their sales came in the main from the tracks... After all. You don't bite the hand that feeds you do you? I presume sales now come more from online, hard copy subscription, and retail outlets, given so few tracks... Nowadays it is a very good read, giving plenty of fans a voice, and not slow at challenging, but constructively, and fairly, (recognising the challenges promotions face), the current malaise that exists... The New Year addition covering every league and every major competition in the world was particularly excellent...1 point

Definitely not a one track rider, rides well home and away, any team would welcome him. He is not a gp rider standard and his average shows that but an exciting rider who never gives up and worth a place in any team.1 point
