We’ve been putting our case forward since closure. They are aware of this, some councillors desperately want us to naff off, we’re not going anywhere. If anything our case is getting stronger. I can’t wait to speak in front of a proper independent knowledgeable government planning inspector, our council are going to get their backsides kicked hard. They have massively under estimated us and our supporters who I must say have been magnificent throughout this process. I am more confident now since closure that Speedway will return to Peterborough.5 points

BSN was complete and utter pants for me last night, freezing and cutting out regularly during the whole presentation, I lost it finally just as the riders were selecting gates for the final, I never got it back. The track looked lovely and smooth but provided nothing in the way of racing with riders strung out and little if any passing after a start which gave the yellow gate a ridiculous advantage that trackstaff were unable to rectify. Northampton as a racing circuit is dreadful that’s four meetings I have watched this year and the racing has been poor all year. The only plus last night was a good crowd for Tai, the fans however deserved better.4 points

I think if i had been team manager at Peterborough instead of being on the radio we would have won the league LOL3 points

I can 100% confirm Luke will be leaving after 3 years at the club . It's time to move to pastures new to help him in his progression as a rider.3 points

On Socials good to see that the fans turned out in good numbers for Woffinden's Testimonial. Whatever you think of Tai , he is a modern day speedway superstar and 3x World Champion - wish him well in his next chapter !! 🤘3 points

When we beat you in the semi final at your place, the cameras shown alot of your fans leaving the stadium at heat 14. I out on my belle vue Facebook group that you seen the aces now f off home. A little joke, and the response from people was wild saying this is not football. That that attitude elsewhere we dont need this in speedway. Well yes, yes we do need this. It needs to become tribal. Ive always said get rid of the family sport image because end of the day its bikes with no brakes, with riders risking there life every single heat. Thats extreme. And should be sold as an extreme sport. I said to one speedway club owner. I wont name sorry, we need to bring in betting firms on race nights. More people will come if you can bet on races at the track. And his response was we dont want that type of people at speedway. Crazy Bring tribalism back3 points

Watching the coverage tonight really rams home how poor the t v presentation outside Poland is, they have most angles covered and treat it as a professional sport and if only the rest of Europe and the UK could adopt this. This afternoons meeting showed a young and enthusiastic following with that tribal attitude and that formula needs replicating across Europe and this evenings meeting is another spectacle. We live in hope that others can follow.2 points

That is absolutely awful from Plymouth.😂 I’m laughing, but that’s so poor. It’s the biggest meeting of the season and Gladiators’ fans will already be gutted about the first leg, but instead of a galvanising article, it’s: we need £46K or you’ll have no speedway next season. What a prospect, walking into the Coliseum; about a 2% chance of winning the trophy and faced with the prospect this will be the last meeting at Plymouth. P*ss poor from the powers that be at Plymouth and a prime example of why British speedway is in the state it’s in. In other sports, sensibility prevails. In British speedway, it doesn’t. Remarkable that’s been given the green light for release. At least two grown adults have read that and thought “yeah, that’ll do”.2 points

I'd be very sad to see Cooper and Jody up and leave Kings Lynn. One way to keep your fans is to keep riders who connect with the local fanbase. If they could possibly work it to get Rob Lambert back - and perhaps make some changes at the management level, then maybe the locals will stick with the team and come and out and support in greater numbers? I hate the constant churn of riders. I mean I feel no connection to Max Fricke, he's simply the newest hired gun. TBH every rider in the League pretty much moves and rides for a new team every couple of years, you don't get many riders who stay at one club that long, anymore. It's musical chairs. Sadly.2 points

Wroclaw better give Artem the wild-card for the Wroclaw GP next year. That's the least they can do for him. He's been carrying this team for the past 3 years.1 point

Equally alarming that people actually WANT that sort of behaviour at speedway. Coleman has already dropped a clanger in moving the GP from the one outstanding track in the UK to one of the poorest. The fact that he seems to now want wanton thuggery and violence at tracks is genuinely terrifying.1 point

Would Poznan be prepared to get at least 3 big names to be competitive in extraleague? But I would like to see the number 8 loophole taken away which has basically kept gorzow up, they didn’t deserve to be relegated but when you have a no8 like polestad that rule is a godsend1 point

I didn't like the way the team was built for 2026 and perhaps the strategy of trying to get 3 heat leaders squeezed into the team should change and the Tigers should go down the Scunthorpe route and entice Josh Pickering to Glasgow and fill the rest of the team with Tate Zisckshe's and KJP's and someone like Andersen the GP2 winner on a five point average and then back them up with stronger reserves like Eddie Kennett.1 point

Would that of been the reason the start marshall stood in a dangerous position to hold the broken tapes back the other season when Poole riders were in the lead because the ref told him to via his headset.1 point

Pretty sure Lynn boasted the world's No.1 & 2 when Lee was world champion and Jessup was runner up. Things have never been the same since they ditched the yellow & green team colours!1 point

Never going to happen tbh, Promoters can barely get Home fans to turn up regularly let alone Away fans.1 point

The Panthers side was in a much weaker position because there was no equivalent organised resistance early enough. Whatever the former owner knew or was told, the public-facing position in 2023 was remarkably passive. There was no serious challenge to the emerging narrative, no visible attempt to build a planning case, and no supporter organisation forcing awkward questions while the important assumptions were becoming embedded. By the time the Panthers campaign began trying to unpick it all in 2024, they were already starting from behind. They also had every reason to expect Peterborough City Council to uphold the site-specific safeguards in its own adopted Local Plan for the East of England Showground’s leisure uses and Peterborough Speedway. So if the suggestion now is that these issues should have been raised earlier, the councillor probably needs to read up on what has actually happened over the last few years.1 point

I went to the banger world final last night. Despite the large crowd there was a huge amount of waiting around for crashed cars to be cleared. However, the presentation made it feel like this was a proper event, it mattered. Even though it is a bunch of amateurs and the luckiest one who wins. The build up to the world final was impressive and the Witches need to do something similar for the start of their meetings imo.1 point

People are too woke to handle a bit of banter, needle and wind up these days. Hence why Comedians aren't allowed to speak the truth during their gigs anymore.1 point

That was the last time I attended the EoES. That was a terrible speech by Chapman. The only saving grace is that he still had to work with the Showground administration, so that speech and his save speedway inaction throughout 2023 could possibly be explained to some extent. But given his total lack of interest since Oct 23, I’m less tempted to give him the benefit of the doubt!1 point

All other clubs have the same chance to build a decent side. But only Poole seem to do it1 point

I do wish people would stop running down the people whose support we need. I suspect the speaker in question was referring to the period prior to closure when Mr Chapman was noticeably quiet.1 point

What more could you ask for but some of the best riders entertaining you on a Saturday night. Takes me back to the days at Rayleigh on a Saturday night and Len Silver putting on a meeting that was guaranteed to entertain and waiting for the results to come in from the likes of Coventry, Canterbury etc. Tonight’s Polish meeting is top draw and sad that we have now reached the end of the season. Another days racing tomorrow and again thanks to the guys who help give us this insight to European speedway1 point

As an aside to all the tribal discussion, just seen the World Championship banger meeting starting today at 4pm at Ipswich is sold out and the only way to watch the meeting is on Spedeworth TV. I guess the stadium holds circa 10k and if Spedeworth can organise an event like this then no reason why Mayfield cannot fill the stadium for the GP.1 point

I always cringe when clubs make such threats to the fans. Seen it at Newport with Mallett nearly every week begging for more fans through the gate and it honestly usually made the crowds for the next meeting worse. Clubs should be able to provide everything required to operate without making threats. An insult to the paying fans who have attended all season.1 point

You might be on your own with that one, sorry to be harsh, but your response and attitude is the reason speedway is dying. Speedway needs more atmosphere and more passion. Not a nice little family night out. Go to the cinema if you want that. Sports has always been about atmosphere, look at darts and how it changed completely. I think you have a very closed attitude and mind and would be good working for the upper echelons of British Speedway. This is going to sound super harsh but speedway could afford to lose people with your mindset to gain a lot more people with real change.1 point

Yeah I wouldnt watch it, waste of your valuable time. Hopefully like you many BSN viewers will give it a miss so we dont have to put up with all the moaning.1 point

You can't have two riders at home not performing and expect to get enough pts to take a comfortable lead to Poole. Scunthorpe did really well with the other five riders, but, to keep both Hook and Ablett heat 12 was a certain 5-1 to Poole. Surely Howe could have changed things around a bit, to stop that from happening. Such a shame, if those two had contributed, it could have been a bit more exciting next Wednesday.1 point

The best of luck to Plymouth, but why wait til the last meeting to make an appeal? Surely this should have been an all season effort....1 point

Rushen needs to leave King's Lynn for sure as the Club is cursed imo. They're the Tottenham FC of Speedway and I'm a Spurs fan so I would know lol. Doesn't matter what King's Lynn do in regards to signings because nothing ever sticks and the season's will always play out the same way as the year before.1 point
-
There's the crux, as that's not quite true. Winning, consistent sides tend to manage to hold on to their main guys. At King's Lynn, they consistently hold on to year on year, even bad rider's for too long. There's actually quite a lot of consistency in teams, it just doesn't feel like it when you're turning up to meetings and getting whipped, especially at home. If things continue as is at King's Lynn, you can guarantee it's the same ol' 'last pick' faces again in 2027.1 point

Forget rivalries aside, Kings Lynn are a fine Speedway Club. They’ve always been a big part of top flight speedway going back to the Terry Betts and Michael Lee days, had some of the best riders in world speedway. The fact they’ve never celebrated a top flight title isn’t right really. They’ve a loyal fan base and they deserve their spot in the sun. Until change happens, I doubt that will come unfortunately for them.1 point

Other than Poole, Ippo or Belle Vue most other speedway clubs have near zero value and given Buster must have chucked in hundreds of thousands over the years he won't let it go for buttons and I can't see anyone willing to take it on either. To be fair on paper team looked decent this year but again just hasn't happened.. Re rising stars great idea but at championship level not premier level.1 point

Jason Doyle has twice helped Sheffield reach the play offs in the last few weeks.. Best to not take it too seriously, just like those who run UK Speedway, and just watch the racing...1 point
-
So Kings Lynn needed Sheffield to not pick up a point at home vs Northampton and then win and take the bonus at Northampton (today) to sneak into the playoffs. Max Fricke, currently employed by Kings Lynn, then accepts a guest booking for Sheffield, and proceeds to score 9 points. Yeah, that makes sporting sense to me. Riders have no affinity to a club, it's simply a living. I always know this is how it is but there are days when I question why would I invest my loyalty to a club when the riders basically couldn't care any less what racesuit they pull on....1 point
