  1. I think the likes of Wood and Powell are/were good grass trackers who had a go at speedway with differing degrees of success. Having had their go in the limelight and assume sold kit etc, can get there adrenaline fix at grasstack whilst holding down a job, can't believe either would want to commit to set up with speedway again.
  2. As a fan of his over the years I hope not really.
  3. I sincerely hope Ian Jordon is utterly and totally nothing to do with the club as publicised, Eastbourne spent years and years doing it and were certainly one of the most successful at it, all that work wiped out last season.
  4. Poole expect they'll win every race and competition they enter, so.....
  5. Aren't most Kent speedway fans rough and ready and should feel at home there?. Seriously though, think as you say it should be able to be sustainable if it's a good race surface with good NL racing and family oriented . I've never been, but sounds like its definitely a summer track, imagine you don't want to be there on a cold, damp windy day, especially at the end of the season.
  6. Surprising how many things can be hired relatively inexpensively I suppose, but it will be basic whatever it seems. Suppose a lot will be cost, if it's £10ish speedway, people will overlook basic facilities, much more and may expect a bit more?
  7. It really looked like a potential championship winning side last year and never really jelled as a team and underperformed, need to up their game this year to compete with Glasgow, maybe Oxford and no dought whatever team Poole eventually put out.
  8. Could have a problem with crowd numbers then I would have thought?
  9. I think that is the problem and why questions are being asked and it is a make or break season. Back when they were all progressing in a highly competitive NL he was probably ahead of all of those, certainly Tom at the time and looked to be the one to go all the way. One thing Brennen had from go was he certainly was a tough lad even as a 14/15 year old overcoming a few bad injuries. Don't know if Kemp has that toughness, hope he proves he has to mix it.
  10. Shows the way he was going really, last time I saw him ride was heat 15 against Edinburgh and would have beaten Sam Masters for a 5/1 to win the meeting had it not been for an e/f on the last lap, if he gets back to that and above and gets dialled into the Oxford track should be a good signing. Come on Oxford fans, not a lot of opinion on here about him apart from some Poole and Eastie fans .
  11. Sure all 6 teams would want Tom in their side given the option, don't think they would all want Chris Holder, not the force he was and could end up being a high paid, high average 2022 'Batchelor '.
  12. Like a lot of riders, whenever he seemed to make progress had some bad injuries which put him back again. Was pleased to have him at Eastbourne, hope he has an injury free, productive season.
  13. I expect Newman thinks the same probably.
  14. Can blow hot and cold, but the Eastie fans took him to heart last season until the debacle of non payment, always a trier and capable at times of beating the opposition No1, certainly at Arlington.
  15. Just a shame it appears for Poole that they've what looks like having no chance of him riding for them again. I know it's a pr exercise, but may have come back at somepoint, especially if Poole did go back to the Premiership, sure a more subtle press release could have been concocted leaving the door open, but appeasing the fans.
  16. Or bad grammar, and now you're covering up .
  17. It is, looks like a burning bridge scenario to me, must have been pretty heated for Poole to come out publicly like this. Mind you if he's as good as we're led to believe maybe only here a couple of seasons at most and then off to pastures new/richer.
  18. Swop naughty for short sighted stupidity, but what's new there.
  19. How about the Workington Ospreys, have they not been reintroduced somewhere not that far from Workington ?
  20. Are IOW not called the Warriors? Maybe the Wildcats, used to be used by Weymouth when they ran for a while.
  21. I think I could be the one, I can turn wine into water, and I'm only a 2 pinter, sorry pointer.
