  1. Well one of them was his brother! I don't completely blame Chris Holder, I spoke to him at the play offs at Poole and he still vividly remembers his crash at Coventry, like most of us who were there, he said he didn't think he would walk again let alone ride so understandable he had concerns about a slightly dodgy track.
  2. The play offs are not the problem, the rules are the problem and how they are interpreted and implemented.
  3. Oh you would be surprised, you haven't met my father in law!!
  4. Oh grudges can be held for lifetimes let alone a few years.
  5. I am a big fan of Chris Holder, chatted to him at the play off final meeting, my daughter used to a big fan too, probably for different reasons!! I was at that particular meeting at Kings Lynn and if I was a Kings Lynn fan, I would also be appalled and disgusted by their actions that night and I don't blame Buster for being unforgiving especially as all our team didn't seem to have any issues with the track including Jack Holder.
  6. Masters is a top rider but he didn't seem to me to have his best season last year, only the very top riders ride all tracks well and even the gp riders that ride here will have bad nights next season but overall in terms of consistency I don't think there are many better than Masters.
  7. I didn't say it was against the rules or illegal and Poole would have done the same back in the day.
  8. Yes that was before BV brought in Robert Lambert!!
  9. Yes I would agree with that, even his brother rode the track pretty well that night. I was surprised though, you expect it from Batchelor but I didn't expect it from Chris Holder.
  10. The eternal issue is money, the clubs and their promotors do not want or see the need to pay for an independent panel who have no financial interest in any club or promotion, the money it would cost is their get out clause but in reality it would not cost that much to get some ex referees to sit on a panel.
  11. I would back Lawson to beat Allen on any track, personally I think it's crazy to try to compare them.
  12. Yes I fully appreciate Poole did do some questionable moves in the past and I have never denied it but as they are not in the Premiership and it was about last season I didn't think the fact that I am a Poole fan was relevant but you make a good point. I said in a previous post it wasn't a breaking of the rules, unfortunately the rule book has always been open to manipulation and covered by in the best interests of the sport etc. In 2018 I think it was because the powers that be in their infinite wisdom decided that it would look bad if the two teams had the same rider riding for different teams in the final so Poole has Nick Morris in both legs and Kings Lynn had Adam Ellis in both legs, that is how I remember it.
  13. It is my opinion and I am not sure why being a Poole fan has any bearing on it, telling me to grow up and get a life is a bit of a childish thing to say in my opinion.
  14. Can you quote the regulation regarding long term injury replacement? in my opinion you should not be allowed a change during the play offs.
  15. This forum is also the ideal place to chat about the past in my opinion.
  16. Because they didn't change their team until the week of the play-offs, in fact Lambert didn't ride in the first leg of the play off semi. You should not be allowed to change your team mid playoffs.
  17. I thought you might pick me up on that one!
  18. So if it is badly written then that is a loophole which is not in the spirit of the rule. Robert Lambert also said there was a chance he could be back this season but that was never going to happen. It all seemed very wrong to me and I hope it will never happen again.
  19. I don't think those two things are compatible. If Adam got a 7 point average we would not be 8th!
  20. Don't really get the misgivings or doubts about NKI, always gives his best and is still a very good rider.in my opinion not many riders wil have a higher average than him at the end of the season. Like most riders he has had a few injuries but he is fully fit now so should be a great signing. Really nice guy too, can't see any reason why he shouldn't have a good season.
  21. If the Cook Brothers ride like they did at the end of last season then I think Poole will be stronger, Roynon rode for Scunthorpe last season and had some good meetings, he could be a real bonus, home and away, always liked Adam, very approachable, had some terrible injuries and maybe doesn't take the risks he used to.
  22. Yes difficult to assess but I would fancy Poole to win on aggregate.
