  1. Bank holidays should be prime targets for good crowds, with riders missing and no suitable or adequate replacements it's yet another own goal for the sport. Can't see why AJ would be missing? Can Fred make a comeback for this? Do the rules allow it under the 7 day rule?
  2. Should be a great match up between 2 excellent teams. Still can see the Bees taking all points and preventing the Stars taking anything away. 49-41
  3. Must admit I thought it was odd when I saw Rosco's comments that AM might be back next week. The rules say he can't. Assuming they know the rules at Swindon. We don't want another team abusing the rules. Coventry should be able to take points from this meeting tho.
  4. The expected result against the leagues worst team . Nice for the Robins to have a sniff of the top 4. It won't be often they can say that this season
  5. Time will tell. Some braggers have still got to win there meetings in hands yet. nothing certain yet.
  6. Didn't you mean add top 4 side Wolverhampton?! ;-)
  7. Against the poorest side in the league it should be a stroll.
  8. That comment likewise is rather irrelevant. Time will tell.
  9. Time will tell. You make your luck along the way and that in turn gives belief. Considering we were mass written off pre season we have had our moments so far. Injuries can wreck anyone's season so until both Fred and Tobby are back we have to pick what we can. Play offs are a mile away for everyone, although Cov seem to be doing all the hard work early on. Like you rightly say, picking up points on the road including away wins will see us in the mix. Time will tell if we manage to pick up more points on our travels.
  10. I think it was you banging on and on about how rubbish we are this season (something you have been doing for a while now), perhaps wait till the end of the season to brag you were right. Time will tell if we fall away or not. However anyone with a brain would say that so far we are the surprise packets of the EL so far. I'll take that thanks.
  11. Yes I saw those predictions and I'm still laughing at them. Like you say finishing positions are the only thing that is important but the prediction of finishing bottom is something I will probably still be laughing at come October. In less biased news Swindon with Kildemand look a much better proposition than what they started with. Just gotta win those matches in hand that you brag about tho.
  12. For Poole he is yes. They are happy to abuse the rules quite blatantly.
  13. What predicted slide? We started 4th and are still 4th. You mean predicted by just you perhaps, are you still 6th by the way? PMSFL Why not? The track got better as the meeting wore on. Well done to the riders for giving it a go instead if using their default setting of a call off at the slight drop of rain. A nice rarity. And main teamers used to drop Down meaning they had a strong reserve all year.
  14. PUK yes roo boy made the difference when it mattered. Why do people talk about reserves being the difference like a new phenomenon?its been this way for years, even well before we had excellent young foreigners on ridiculously low and false 4 point assessed averages. its nothing new folks. -------------------------------------------------- The result I predicted and expected. Given we had 2 guests and on paper king was stronger than Tobby then it was looking more hopeful than first feared. However having guests is never the same as your own riders but step forward the Bomber who really gave us his all plus being the one who sprinted across the dog track with 30 seconds to go to correct yet another 2 blue helmets mistake. The 2nd time this year is frankly pathetic. Bomber possibly scored what Freddie might have done so he didn't weaken us too much . Thanks Bomber for caring. The stars showed the potential they possess and came up trumps with booking Worrall. Well done to the Stars on the big 4 pointer even allowing Niels to have a meeting he looked completely disinterested in. A long long cold night and no points to show made it a very tough and tortuous evening. WOLVES - BOMBER - gave it 110% couldn't ask for much more. 3.5/5 MOTM JACOB - finished with a great win from the gate over 2 of the Stars top 2 but was finding it tough before. 3.5/5 KING - no real gain as far as points go and besides one decent ride was largely a bit part player 1.5/5 RICKY - very average night although conditions perhaps halted his points scoring chances. Good determined ride in heat 14. 2.5/5 PK - didn't look interested from the off but added a couple of vital wins mid way thru that kept us involved 2.5/5 LEWIS - a rather poor meeting and in truth didn't deserve 5 rides, was outscored by the better reserve on the night.1/5 JOSH - excellent heat 2 win and managed to at least stay on his bike in both reserves heats -something his supposed superior couldn't manage 2/5. STARS Iversen - heat 13 apart looked like he couldn't be bothered 1.5/5 Lambert - besides his final race was great value as expected 3.5/5 Schlein - nothing to shout about till the last 2 races when he duly delivered 3/5 Porsing - excellent first heat then disappeared 1.5/5 Bjerre - good showing even tho he faded as the meeting went on. Stars fans will no doubt be delighted with his score. 3.5/5 Morris - outscored Wolves better reserve which says it all. 2.5/5 Worrall - superb choice of guest. Won them the 4 points 4.5/5
  15. The fact he had a sick note before he was due to ride in a meeting in Poland stinks. The fact Harris was booked given that magic was ok to ride in a meeting also stinks.
  16. There can be no valid reason that a sick note be issued before a rider rides for 24 hrs later. No valid reason whatsoever.
  17. And a rider that is signed off to ride Monday before he even races on the Sunday? ? Corrupt.
  18. We already have the correct facility, it just needs applying! No one expects a rider to miss a GP that isn't fully fit. We all get that they are chasing a dream. But league racing is the bread and butter for all riders. Every club wants their rider fit for action, so if he can ride in Poland the day after a GP he is clearly fit enough to race in ALL other league competitions. The facility is clear. If he can't ride in the UK when fit on Sunday then a club either takes a 28 day ban for the rider and uses GUESTS OR they use a PL 6 pointer instead. The rule looks clear to me! What sticks in the throat more is that he was given a sicknote and guest facility BEFORE he had ridden in Poland. That is pure scandalous and needs an investigation how and why this was allowed in the first place. I couldn't care less what club it is/was. Let's apply the rules fairly to all.
  19. Local radio were saying rain to return tonight but looks like clear from now on to me.
  20. Just clarity was needed, if Janowski was fit to ride in Poland (he was) and then said he couldn't ride in the EL the next day (he did) then he is effectively witholding his services, Poole get a guest and he takes a 28 day ban as the rules state for everyone. It was a guest and 28 day ban OR PL guest up to 6 points. Anything else is just cheating not 'stretching any rule'. The rain off has saved the day but I hope this matter is looked into however.
  21. Absolutely. I take it the Poole fan is basically saying that he doesn't have to be commited to riding for Poole because the can use a better guest at Belle Vue and let hi pick his meeting to suit.If you are fit to ride in a GP AND are fit to ride in Poland then it's clear you are fit to honour your commitments in the EL the following day. Nothing else to say on it. Unless you want to be blind and make excuses for a rider who picks and chooses his meetings.
