5th V 4th - Wolves V Swindon - 1/6/2015
stevebrum replied to dump that clutch's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Ok I stand corrected, Kerr started as 2nd heat leader and moved to Number one at Newcastle in May, yet you want us to believe the Glasgow reserve Sarj is already a better PL rider (your words). Sarj is tier 2 so is hardly comparable to a 1st tier rider as far as a like for like goes. He is having a great season and I am no way knocking the lad. If he was free to guest tonight I'd rather Sarj than James Wright that's for sure. But he would no way be a like for like replacement because of their tier grading and as far as I'm concerned the 1st tier riders are all like for like and should all be able to guest for each other IMHO. -

You mean his PL average from reserve? Yea that's a really true reflection of comparison - NOT. Kerr started the season at Newcastle at number 1 and Sarj is still a reserve but if you really want to believe that Sarj is already better than Kerr then go ahead. By the same argument you must feel that Garrity is already a better EL rider than Schlein, AJ, Freddie, Cook, Holder, Zagar, Andersen, North, King, Watt, Howarth, Fricke, Milston, Bech et Al. Yea, great logic. Why who is Kildemand likely to be riding for in the play offs? ;-)) Glad they did. It's already been allowed for teams to call off matches to suit (copyright Poole) so seems completely fair to me. Why should we race so weakened? On a less sarcastic note the forecast is awful and would have been financial suicide to run a meeting with a poor forecast and injury woes. Right call, well done CVS. Let's face the Robins when they have Miedzinski back and have little to play for -

They aren't, put Sarjeant as senior reserve and he would be no way as prolific. Sarjeant is rapidly improving and I rate him but I doubt he would be even considered 1st pick next season. -

Yea, the guy deemed only good enough to be mid down the 2nd draft pick. Seeing as he is doing so well how many times has he replaced Garrity because he was scoring more points? If you seriously believe Sarjeant is as good as Kerr and Blackbird then fair enough. He will always play second fiddle to Garrity as he should do. -

I see your point however you cannot call Sarjeant a match winning reserve because without the scores of Garrity (who is your match winning reserve) you wouldn't have even been in the same position. The top graded reserves are meant to be fairly equal but it's Garrity plus the usual suspects like Newman, Kerr and Blackbird who are scoring big points. Obviously the 2nd tiered draft riders make a difference and Sarjeant is clearly the best of the 2nd tier riders. He won't be getting 12-17 points a match which makes all the difference regards winning matches. Blackbird, like Garrity are the riders expected to score the big points so replacing them with much worse riders are a much bigger loss. -

Sarjeant is not one of the strongest. He is the strongest of the 2nd picks. when you have a rider like Garrity (similar to Blackbird for Wolves) the 2nd reserves scores are just a bonus. It isn't the same thing at all. -

No dispute, so it's a 6 point PL guest if Magic picks Poland. -

And you're point? We have a match winning reserve replaced by a vastly inferior standard rider. It's up to your lot to come and win as you won't have a better chance. You are meant to be the better side ain't ya? -

With this line up surely its in the best interest of the British Speedway to cancel it anyway! -

So he should be replaced. He already has an official league fixture that he has to put first. Poole HAVE priority. There is no dispute on that. -

There will never be a better time to get an away win with a terrible replacement for a key reserve and a returning from injury for our Pole (assuming he came thru his match in Poland today?). For us it's a absolute must win to keep in touch of the top 4 because a defeat will as good as put pay to that happening and will need an abundance of away wins to make up. We need all our top 5 winning races and sommat special from Fred and Ricky. I'm fearful now I have seen our guest options but I have to hope it's a 48-42 type win. But hope we send the Robins packing with no points is the best outcome. -
It's happened it the recent past World Cups at Lynn, so what's different?

Hopefully MF will make a stand over this. It's not an official fixture so the rules are clear. If Magic is missing then it's a 6 point PL guest. If a guest is granted we know major fiddling is going on between the BSPA and MF. Hopefully MF will do the right thing. -
Unlike last year you mean LOL

No doubt you will chomping at the bit when Miedzinski returns, and the Robins join Wolves in the bottom 4. ;-)) [quote name="waihekeaces1" post="2622158" timestamp="1433019858" Steve brum - just like last year, getting carried away by early season results. If you sign ward though I reckon you could make the play offs. I had plenty to be optimistic about, a side with potential all the way thru. But you win no matches when your number one scores abysmally - as the Aces, Pirates, Robins have already found out this season.

As it should be. What's the point of having a National stadium if the National events aren't on it.
