Musielak could have done without a poor track but crashed out again at Poole. Doyle also had a crash at Poole and also withdraw before the end of tonight match. Ellis certainly vocal about the state of the track at Poole. i haven’t mentioned the state of the Swindon track which from what I believe was poor as well. Does one need to trump the other? Bank holiday speedway and both clubs serving up dross for entertainment if comments are to be be believed. Whilst Swindon were unlucky and Poole lucky with regards results neither can take any plaudits on what both served up when we need to be giving any visiting public on a bank holiday the best entertainment to take away with them. Another own goal for the sport. Swindon is a ‘new track’ and is bound to have track issues till it’s bedded in properly which begs the question ..... what excuse do Poole have?.?

Wolves v Belle Vue 27th May 19
stevebrum replied to Beowulf's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
We are always poor at the NSS so I half expected that. however having 4 potential number ones (all were at some stage last season) we shouldn’t be losing in this manner so it’s a worry and hopefully just a period of transition required. The expected result tho. -
Wolves v Belle Vue 27th May 19

I predicted both results. We will need time to settle with the original line up. Congratulations to the Aces on full points tonight. Be interesting to hear how poor we were today in both matches. -
Always believed you can have suitable guest at reserve. Looks like the ruling on 1-5 has been changed tho as appears all can be replaced if injured. 18.10 A GUEST RIDER (G) replaces an absent regular Team Member subject to the following: 18.10.1 If the absent rider, with an established MA, is in the Top 1 – 5 of the Team, then the Missing rider’s MA will be enhanced by + 5% at a Home Meeting to determine the allowance for the Guest rider. 18.10.2 A rider may ride as a Guest (in an Official Meeting) at a Track only once in an 8-day period (within that league) unless he is replacing the Home Teams #1 or is a NDL rider guesting for the Home Team. 18.10.3 The Guest must be in a current Team Declaration and have an MA that is the same or lower than that of the absent rider. If a rider has an established MA in both Premiership and Championship leagues the MA for the league for which the rider is guesting, will be used. If the rider does not have an established MA in that particular league then the conversion factor of 1.5 will apply. 18.10.4 The Guest assumes the position and MA of the Missing rider. 18.10.5 A Guest Rider in a “double-header” shall count as one Meeting only. 18.10.6 No Rider, whose Team is in the Play-Offs may appear as a Guest in the Play-Offs, in that League.

Peterborough vs Poole 23/05/19 Premiership
stevebrum replied to LisaColette's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Great to read it was a good meeting. Peterborough is one of the best race tracks in the UK so I’m not surprised. -
And riders did in 2018. There was something mentioned about only riding 2 leagues this year that was mentioned in the close season. Tho not sure if that’s actually the case because the SCB rules don’t appear to mention it.

Ipswich v Wolves 20th May
stevebrum replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
You can be sure his 2018 matches with Wolves will have an affect on his rolling average currently too. -
I’ve looked and I’ve looked on the SCB regulations and can find nothing, although I’m sure it was mentioned by the BSPA in the close season as others have indicated.

Not sure when either reserve will get a new average and because it’s done on rolling averages they could stay in that position for quite a while longer. Gone are the days when current form dictates a new average. New averages even have Bomber increasing his average! Go figure! -
Actually you are correct, it is 7.006 which does indeed equate to 7.01. His average from last season is now irrelevant because he didn’t start the season in the top flight (well he didn’t get to ride for the team he was named in). So yes it’s 7.01. And I echo the above statement. It’s ridiculous.
-
7 dead on.
-
Kemp has already stated pre season he isn’t doing top flight and would be bad if he dumped his NL club anyway.
-
Yes that’s the case this season. Must be ditching NL or Championship which is harsh on the affected team however seems an odd fog him to make as he would be one of the weakest top flight reserves. Quoted you but realised you had already responded to the information. Had to achieve at least a 3 in top flight from last season.

Ipswich v Wolves 20th May

They made a hell of a lot of changes to Ipswich in the winter? Have you been hibernating? The general feedback from fans is that attendance is up and racing improved but like at Swindon BT meeting none of that was reflected to the watching viewer. Lots of Ipswich fans decided to stay at home because of no price reduction and having had a meeting on Thursday. its the promotions (and BT) that are missing a trick. All TV meetings should be 10 or 12 pound to get a crowd in and partially funded by BT. Swindon offered reduction at their BT match and had a good crowd, that requires for some thought from those who promote the sport. -
Good post, although the issue of Jacob being a poor scorer away is a bit of a myth. Was 6th highest away in 2017, although less in 2018 on just under 7. Freddie got accused of being poor away from Monmore for a long time but was one of the best away riders for a long time before 2018. Seems a myth when a rider has such a dominant average at home that his away average is generally poor in comparison however when you compare to other riders it isn’t as bad as you would expect. For example Scott’s away average last season is just over 5.5!
-
Not Kemp, he can’t.
-
I agree , unless 4.73 is too high?
-
The only part I can agree to is that Nicholls isn’t ‘far weaker’ but definitely weaker as the averages over the past 2 or 3 seasons have evidenced. Averages are fact based however and that’s whether you use the official rolling averages/this seasons averages/ averages with bonus points/ averages that include all competitions/ form based averages. They all tell a true and accurate story. I agree that whether we think one rider is better than another can be totally subjective although based on like of that rider and/ team that is where some debate tends to happen. My only point is that Jacob is a better rider evidenced by averages over the past 3 seasons and I can’t see how anyone can dispute that fact irregardless of how Scott has performed for Wolves this season. May I add a very pleasant surprise that he has done quite well in Wolves colours better than I expect quite a few Wolves fans expected.
-
Makes sense as well. Yes I reckon he will stick with those 2 leagues the rest of the season.
-
I remember reading something about him riding too flight so you are probably correct STR.
