Wolves V Ipswich 29/4/19 Premiership
stevebrum replied to stevebrum's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
As is everything it will come down to the big myth of ‘in the best interest of British speedway’ rule that allows the BSPA to adapt/alter/change/ignore delete as applicable. The rule seems clear but yes I agree it would seem odd if it was extended further but won’t be surprised if it is either. such is the unpredictability/reliability of the supposed applied rules. -

I’m not sure then what Wolves are meant to do if a rider isn’t fit to start the season? -

In truth who wants to bother travelling hours for a shocking racetrack prep? -

Has had a couple of decent home matches and at least 1 decent one away. He also took a race win at Wolves. But an average of around 3.60 from all his meetings is a more telling story (without bonus points). -

Scott has been ok and probably better than expected. He has top scored twice out of 6 official meetings. And without looking is probably our highest overall average. But I wouldn’t want to keep him ahead of Jacob. His rolling average has increased to 6.51 so can still be a temporary replacement to Nick if it was agreed before the 1st May effective changes. -

The expected result then. One assumes the track was better tonight? -

Poole should win this but with 2 home losses already it’s not a given. -

I didn’t think it was anymore? -
Yes very true. But at least the Witches are competitive away which is great for all in the league.
-
He is doing a good impression of the invisible man at the moment!
-
Oops! Still think of him as a Swindon rider tho!
-
Fair point, heat 13 was costly also. And when needing a 5-1 in heat 15 it was highly unlikely.
-
I’d be surprised if he was being considered to replace Zach. Won’t fit for Shanes tho surely?
-
Nielsen for Bellego likely, not for Shanes. Average too high.
-
It’s an interesting insight and I hear what he is saying. It takes nothing away from the point they aren’t built to compete in the bigger heats and that ultimately cost Ipswich of the hope of a point which they still could have got in heat 15. Bomber hasn’t been as good at Monmore the past couple of seasons but is more than a worry if in the right mood and it would have been a different story if that was the case. Bomber riding injured was the ultimate cost I guess as he looked poor and clearly not fit for a much tighter circuit. Reserves won’t be the issue all season at Ipswich and I can see them top scoring in most away matches whoever it is. The likes of King and Harris need to step up more away but often are found wanting at times.
-
Louis is deluded if he thought besides Kings Lynn the other 2 away matches they should have won. They would never get a better chance to win away at Wolves on Monday again, taking control till mid way thru. This is the problem with the Witches side away from home and I can’t see them taking a win without some luck. They just down have the firepower when it counts. It will be the same if both reserves move into the main team, strong reserves no end meeting strength. That said, they aren’t the cannon fodder everybody said they would be and for that reason it’s very welcome to see.

I think it only affects riders who didn’t qualify for a 3 point average at the start of the year. Kemp was an assessed 2 in the Championship? Probably qualifies once he has a true average. Id be amazed if Bacons true championship average allows him to replace Shanes, however with the way the rolling averages are worked out means anything is possible!

A rider of a similar standard yes. Another to try get sacked.

Belle Vue v Peterborough Monday 29th April 7.30pm

Interesting interview with Bewley after the match saying it isn’t confidence away from home just that he isn’t scoring well yet. It wouldn’t be a surprised if he was tentative on other tracks but appears that isn’t the case. Great personal meeting for the lad. -
PSC • King’s Lynn v Swindon Robins • 29/04
stevebrum replied to ZagarRacing's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Who is playing down Wolves chances? Not me. Wolves like Swindon have the best teams on paper. Wolves haven’t looked all that convincing yet but I fully expect them to be in the top 4 come the play offs. Swindon as a team are firing better than anyone else so I’m sure the fans and management are delighted with that. As previously stated titles aren’t won on form in April. -

And in other news another away meeting and another point gained. You have to feel worried if Swindon are ‘over-rated’ as no team comes close to them so far. If one of the reserves click or changes are made then it’s nearly full advantage the Robins. Another good result for the Robins. -

Close to mid way thru but as expected the predicted result, and its not going to get better for the Panthers if they give away 3 points in the averages after May 1st. Bewley looking close to back to his best, certainly at the NSS. -

Looks like the track was too deep early on, certainly played into Ippo’s favour. Fair result from the Witches who were still in with the shout for a league point at the last race. once again their reserves were brilliant and 19 to 8 were most definitely their strength. Becker still managed a win but had an ordinary night - which is only to be expected. Masters coming to the table late on saved us possibly giving away a losing point. Harris and Lawson shocking scores. -
