  1. I was (unusually) enjoying your post until your patronising comment about scroungers. BTW I post as a member of the forum of as someone a little younger than you with my own fully paid up property having paid my mortgage off as an ex professional working person having worked in a DECENT environment. OMG I have just realised that I've given you the oxygen of publicity by responding to your inane comment. How many rooms do you require and for how many people? I have 2 bookings and will be cancelling one of them but perhaps I could help?
  2. I 100% agree but unlike SCB I thought the attendance was lower this year. I had a row of Polish fans right behind me -- the airhorns never stopped, their Polish flagged covered me after nearly every race and I got beer splattered all over me -- I honestly did not care a bit as they apologised and added to the atmosphere which was a tad diluted this year but I confess to feeling a bit deflated after Greg had to withdraw. I have already booked my hotel for our group of four in 2018 and already looking forward to it.
  3. What a shame -- Coventry work hard to find riders for a challenge match and it's not like points in the league are involved.I had swapped shifts at work for this so very disappointed. Ah well.
  4. I assume she doesn't partake of this forum?
  5. I was a Kings Lynn last night and I agree with Steve Shovlar the home team were abysmal.
  6. I ordered mine on the same day as you last year and got notification today that they have been despatched. I'm pretty sure you will hear very soon too.
  7. So how are Ipswich v Workington? There appears to be some digression?
  8. I was there as a Bees supporter and despite the ''track'' problems I loved watching speedway again and the presence of Bees fans was obvious to see. I do like to take my dog (4 legged version) with me but can't attend Rye House for that reason -- Belle Vue is the same. Are dogs allowed at King's Lynn?
  9. You sound very knowledgeable--- any chance you could intervene and help us out? Pretty please
  10. YouTube will always provide good racing shoots at many tracks. I do take on board your comments about the dust but Poole does ''own'' the blue groove reputation and that does not provide the most entertaining racing.
  11. It always has and always been a problem at Poole (in my opinion) -- NOT ENOUGH SHALE! Poole is a beautiful place to visit and I tend to choose 'holidays' in areas where I can incorporate a decent speedway meeting. I have spent a holiday in Poole for this very reason but 3 times bitten and I refuse to spend my money at the Poole track again. I look forward to S.Shovlars reply
  12. S.S says the opposite? As Gemini stated it is midweek and most people have gone back to work. My other half was able to go and said the track and racing were good in the first half of the meeting before the track became slick. I think Cov. fans really are trying hard to attend as many meetings as possible but Poole on a Wednesday after the Easter break was always going to be a tricky one --- not everyone is retired. Edited to say there wasn't a blue groove -- the track just became very slick. Apologies to Poole.
  13. Back in the real world --- coachloads of fans when it's midweek is unrealistic. (As much as I have been supporting The Bees through thick and thin I won't be attending due to work commitments and the fact that I like to enjoy racing on shale not a blue groove) If you attend I would like to humbly thank you for doing it JUST for Coventry. Good of Poole to honour a meeting just for the fans though. The Poole riders don't want to race and test their engines and gain experience?
  14. He simply cannot resist it.Maybe the concern is that Coventry will provide great opposition and it won't be a whitewash for Poole?
  15. Me too! It's hilarious -- just loving the playground ''I'm gonna tell my Dad of you cos he's bigger than your Dad '' and it's no joke as Starman is SEROIUS
  16. Unfortunately the occasion is a ''surprise'' 70th birthday occasion (it will remain a surprise as the family members don't use this forum despite being speedway supporters) and it's held in the afternoon. If I can sort the 4 legged out it's looking like a mad dash at the last minute in the car.
  17. I may be interested but have to attend a lunchtime family get together first. Could you tell me what time you expect to depart please?
  18. Oooooh but Poole is PERFECT according Saint Steve Shovlar!!!
  19. 4pm far too late! Poole in town -- best make it midday
  20. I assume the 4 legged variety are allowed in if you are going?
