  1. So how are Ipswich v Workington? There appears to be some digression?
  2. I was there as a Bees supporter and despite the ''track'' problems I loved watching speedway again and the presence of Bees fans was obvious to see. I do like to take my dog (4 legged version) with me but can't attend Rye House for that reason -- Belle Vue is the same. Are dogs allowed at King's Lynn?
  3. You sound very knowledgeable--- any chance you could intervene and help us out? Pretty please
  4. YouTube will always provide good racing shoots at many tracks. I do take on board your comments about the dust but Poole does ''own'' the blue groove reputation and that does not provide the most entertaining racing.
  5. It always has and always been a problem at Poole (in my opinion) -- NOT ENOUGH SHALE! Poole is a beautiful place to visit and I tend to choose 'holidays' in areas where I can incorporate a decent speedway meeting. I have spent a holiday in Poole for this very reason but 3 times bitten and I refuse to spend my money at the Poole track again. I look forward to S.Shovlars reply
  6. S.S says the opposite? As Gemini stated it is midweek and most people have gone back to work. My other half was able to go and said the track and racing were good in the first half of the meeting before the track became slick. I think Cov. fans really are trying hard to attend as many meetings as possible but Poole on a Wednesday after the Easter break was always going to be a tricky one --- not everyone is retired. Edited to say there wasn't a blue groove -- the track just became very slick. Apologies to Poole.
  7. Back in the real world --- coachloads of fans when it's midweek is unrealistic. (As much as I have been supporting The Bees through thick and thin I won't be attending due to work commitments and the fact that I like to enjoy racing on shale not a blue groove) If you attend I would like to humbly thank you for doing it JUST for Coventry. Good of Poole to honour a meeting just for the fans though. The Poole riders don't want to race and test their engines and gain experience?
  8. He simply cannot resist it.Maybe the concern is that Coventry will provide great opposition and it won't be a whitewash for Poole?
  9. Me too! It's hilarious -- just loving the playground ''I'm gonna tell my Dad of you cos he's bigger than your Dad '' and it's no joke as Starman is SEROIUS
  10. Unfortunately the occasion is a ''surprise'' 70th birthday occasion (it will remain a surprise as the family members don't use this forum despite being speedway supporters) and it's held in the afternoon. If I can sort the 4 legged out it's looking like a mad dash at the last minute in the car.
  11. I may be interested but have to attend a lunchtime family get together first. Could you tell me what time you expect to depart please?
  12. Oooooh but Poole is PERFECT according Saint Steve Shovlar!!!
  13. 4pm far too late! Poole in town -- best make it midday
  14. I assume the 4 legged variety are allowed in if you are going?
  15. A bit off topic but could someone inform me whether dogs (the 4 legged variety) are allowed at Rye House?
  16. Really hope James can get off to a good start and find a permanent track somewhere
  17. I couldn't give a flying fig about the name as I would just settle for getting our speedway team back on track.
  18. I do believe we have discussed this before re Poole and the blue groove. I am happy to reserve judgement on your track after another visit. In my opinion a track with a decent amount of shale and preparation provides the best racing and passing. For me Poole has not lived up to this
  19. I dislike your track but love Coventry Bees so I will endeavour to make this trip.
  20. I totally agree and will willingly add to that fund if it goes to James. He is the one rider with no team (correct me if I'm wrong)
  21. I spoke to one of the riders and he said he knew nothing until he saw the statement. He hadn't heard a word before then. Disgraceful.
