Swindon's New Stadium
Aces51 replied to remembertheracers's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
If the houses are now for sale it needs someone to go along as a prospective purchaser and say they are interested but not with a motor sport stadium close by. Be interesting to see what they are told. Unfortunately, there is going to be a new stadium built that will include speedway or, the Speedway Stadium is going to be demolished and that will be the end of the noise problem. -
Poole Pirates Vs Belle Vue Aces 12/08/15
Aces51 replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Poole have been strong at home and on form should stop the Aces picking up any points. However, this Aces team fights all the way, they know how important it is to try to get something out of this meeting and I think they might. -
Belle Vue V Lakeside 10th August
Aces51 replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
A relatively eay win with solid performances from all of the Aces. Not sure why Bech withdrew. He didn't fall and was in the grandstand helping with the Ben collection and seemed ok, chatting and having photos taken with fans. Perhaps he aggravated an earlier injury. -
Poole Pirates Vs Belle Vue Aces 12/08/15
Aces51 replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Earlier this year we beat them on aggregate and in the B fixture hammered them at Kirky Lane. I think they would prefer Swindon to be in the play offs, as Poole are more likely to beat them and Darcy is likely to increase the attendance. If they can, I think would choose King's Lynn in the semi and hope Swindon beat Coventry I'm hoping for a point but Poole are riding well at home. -
I'm hoping this is the night when Wolves get it together. If Lindgren and PK ride as they can and Musielak as he did at BV they could win.

Belle Vue V Lakeside 10th August
Aces51 replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I'm not expecting a walk in the park. Lakeside have always done well at BV. I'm expecting a home win but might be closer than some think. -
Belle Vue V Lakeside 10th August
Aces51 replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
They certainly did, right up to heat 12 and they then put up a strong performance at Swindon. North and their two reserves make them much stronger this time, so the Aces will have to be form. Hopefully, Josh will be ok. He raced on Wednesday but was clearly not 100%, not that anyone expected him to be but on Monday we need to be firing on all cylinders. I think it's going to be a home win. -
With a wet track this was never going to be a racing classic but the racing improved after the top surface was bladed off. Zagar and Cook were supreme and Nielsen again showed how much he has improved with the help he is getting from his team mates and Mark Lemon. Wolves looked as if they might make a fight of it but the Aces gradually increased their lead and in the end it was the expected comfortable win. I really enjoyed watching a rejuvenated performance from PK.

Poole Pirates Vs Leceister Lions 5/8/15

On the 28th August the last available averages will be those effective from 1st August. -
Both small technical tracks so generally the likes of Wolves, and Lakeside riders do well. For many years and despite trying different track curators Belle Vue did not provide good racing. However, since Colin Meredith took over the track has improved dramatically, it's smoother and he has built up the banking on both bends. We now see some decent racing.

Should be a home win although over the years Wolves have often kept it close, probably because of the similarity of the two tracks.

Belle Vue Aces V Poole Pirates 03.08.15
Aces51 replied to SteveLyric2's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Belle Vue are at least as good a team as Swindon, who beat them 50-42, so I'm not sure why your you're asking the question. What is your explanation? -
Belle Vue Aces V Poole Pirates 03.08.15

An easy win over a poor Poole side who, North apart, lacked any fight. Lakeside were far more impressive last week. -

Poole definitely are favourites now. This was a vital match for Belle Vue but difficult to have much enthusiasm following what happened yesterday. -
Belle Vue Aces V Poole Pirates 03.08.15
Aces51 replied to SteveLyric2's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Perfectly understandable. He scored 10 from 5 rides last time so going to be difficult to find a suitable replacement. R/R won't cover it with Cook, Fricke and the two reserves taking his rides. -

Not sure how you work that out. We pulled back a 10 point lead in the last home fixture at the end of June to win by 4 with the same line ups. We also drew at Poole. -
Belle Vue Aces V Poole Pirates 03.08.15
Aces51 replied to SteveLyric2's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I was confident of an Aces victory. We have only dropped points to Coventry at home and they are a much tougher proposition at Kirky Lane with several track specialists. However, I'm not sure how the very unfortunate events of yesterday will affect Josh and maybe Craig and Stefan and that could now have a dramatic affect on the result. I'm sure that the thoughts and prayers of everyone at Belle Vue tonight will be with Lewis and his family. I'm sure we're all hoping for a full and speedy recovery. -
Do we know the reason being put forward for his non appearance?

Coventry V Kings Lynn Fri 31st July 2015
Aces51 replied to g13webb's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
They've haven't necessarily got to win 3 away. Two 4 point away wins and an away loss of less than 7 will do or, any combination that gives them 9 away points or 8 points and a better points for and against than BV. Providing of course that neither team drops any home points or that BV don't pick up any more away. -
He was outstanding last night but it was a nasty looking crash. He caught the fence trying to race Max Fricke to the line. A big loss for Lakeside because not only would he have scored well but also taken a r/r. Going to be difficult to find a suitable replacement tonight and tomorrow.

National Speedway Stadium Opening Tickets Now On Sale
Aces51 replied to hyderd's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Go on, you know you want to. Not every day you get the opportunity to have your name recorded for posterity in the new stadium of the most famous speedway club in the world. At £49 a bargain. Like any organisation mistakes will be made and maybe that explains the problem one fan seems to have had. The other side of the coin is that there have previously been posts on the BV forum and I think on here, complimenting Morton for going above and beyond expectations to help fans. All the grandstand tickets are now sold for the opening meeting so anyone hoping to go needs to get their standing tickets asap. (I'm just trying to remember was it 10 or 20% commission I was promised). -
I know he was excluded for moving at the tapes I was just using tape offence as shorthand to cover both riders. However, I hadn't thought through that he couldn't then go off 15m.Still puzzled as to why Jonsson didn't go in heat 15 with a league point at stake.
-
Good result for the Aces made even better by watching the updates from Poole. Some decent races but not a lot of passing. Lakeside did better than expected although relied mainly on two riders, Jonsson and Bech, who were both impressive. Clegg did better than his points suggest and fought hard. Don't know why Jonsson was replaced in the race when he and Zagar were excluded for tape offences. If he had started on 15 meters with Zagar there was every chance he would have scored at least a point whereas putting Clegg in was always likely to end with him finishing last. Also, why no Jonsson in heat 15 when it was still possible for Lakeside to earn a point? For the Aces a solid team performance, it took too long to get going but I always felt we would win comfortably. Nasty fall for Bech in heat 15. He walked back to the pits so hopefully he is ok. Interestingly, it was Craig Cook who stopped and spent time making sure he was ok whilst he was still down on the track and nice to see Neil Vatcher shaking his hand to thank him.

Poole Pirates Vs Swindon Robins 29/7/15
Aces51 replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
If he does that he'll have no energy left for speedway. -
I'll be there. Looking forward to seeing AJ and unless things go badly wrong, 3 points for the Aces.
