  1. Phil Morris was the man. Got the best interests of young GB riders at heart, did well for Birmingham without the need to manipulate the rules and seems far more intelligent than the most recent occupants. However, the opportunity was lost when he moved on to bigger and better things.
  2. On that basis Belle Vue would have changed the shape of their track about 18 times since 1994.
  3. For all anyone on here knows Sky could have been given the option to call it off 48 hours before but decided not to do so. Also, to be accurate, it wasn't Belle Vue who called it off, it was the meeting referee.
  4. Lakeside have put in some good performances at Kirky Lane. They went through a bad patch but have recently done much better.Starke's is becoming a regular visitor and will do better than Birks and Watt had had a lot of good performances at Belle Vue so also makes them stronger. I still see an Aces win but perhaps not see easy as some may think. Let's hope the rain doesn't cause too many problems.
  5. Nothing wrong with the BSPA. I blame the promoters.
  6. Fantastic start with 3 ex World Champions. Going to be a don't miss meeting with a chance to see some of the best riders not currently racing ín the EL at the new National Stadium.
  7. I should think they would prefer to be a comfortable 3rd rather than feeling vulnerable to a revamped Swindon. However, even a Darcy Ward led Swindon will have some catching up to do to be a threat to the Aces or Kings Lynn.
  8. Kings Lynn can't afford to lose tonight. On the home points dropped v away points gained they are +8 and Belle Vue +7. A home loss and they will only be +5.
  9. An excellent fighting performance from the Aces. It takes some doing not to let heads drop when you're 10 points down against a team like Poole. It's great to see again a Belle Vue team with spirit and a determination to win. Mark Lemon seems to be doing an excellent job.
  10. Going to be a close match. Will Janowski put in an appearance? Will the Poole reserves outscore their opposite numbers after Starke's impressive preformance guesting for Coventry? I think the Aces will win but could be a nail biting finish.
  11. It was a joke. But then again we could pretend to be Poole or Coventry and then we might get away with it.
  12. Belle Vue have already said they intend to use him next year at the new stadium. Could be the best EDR, now how do we get Steve into tier 2?
  13. It's a mystery how the likes of Auty and Boxall got selected this year but not Richie.
  14. Simple. I think Garrity will score more than Worrall and Nielsen combined.
  15. Summers isn't in the same class as Fricke but with his Brandon experience could be an adequate replacement if he has a good night. R/R for Cook should even out with Zagar, Grajczonek and Summers all able to take a ride. If Zagar rides as he is capable of doing then we might claim a point. But even without Sarjeant the Bees reserves should outscore their opposite numbers and do enough for a Bees win.
  16. There can't be much left to pay after all the loan fees that have been paid! !!!!
  17. Not sure about the others but wasn't Worrall's PL average helped by the number of matches he rode at reserve. In any case, it should have been their 2014 EDR average that was used. Far more relevant than how they performed at PL level.
  18. It certainly has! Why would Belle Vue V Coventry be at Poole, absolute disgrace, no wonder fans are leaving in droves. Disgusted of Gorton.
  19. I will support any Brit over a foreigner in international competitions. I think Woffy forcing the BSPA is a bit of a publicity stunt. Belle Vue have had long standing plans to use the new stadium for training the next generation of Brits, including classroom training for riders and mechanics and they are part of the BSPA. I also doubt the scheme announced after Woffy's comments was cobbled together that quickly. However, Tai deserves credit for what he is trying to do. I have never doubted his commitment to GB.
  20. There has been heavy rain. Due to stop at lunch time but with more light rain about 5pm then ok for rest of evening. No sign of any sunshine and a maximum of 15c so lap of the gods really. Hopefully, will dry out sufficiently and at least Colin Meredith can get on the track to do his best, unlike last week when he couldn't get access until after the dogs at 6pm.
  21. It might not be a better plan but maybe the only plan available if you want to sign a genuine GP rider. I wouldn't even begin to defend some of Zagar's performances this year but neither would I get rid of him without a replacement lined up who can be accommodated within the current averages. We all know from the experiences of Swindon and Leicester how difficult it is to sign decent riders. There's no point cutting off your nose to spite your face. Someone was suggesting Mads Korneliussen, they haven't been looking at his scores this year and as for Ward, we would have to think about who else we would have to replace to fit him in and the replacements available for them. It's easy to say get rid of him if you're not bothered about the effect that might have on our play off hopes butsilly unless you can point to some realistic alternatives. My guess is that other teams have already been rejected by anyone worth considering.
  22. A difficult match for the Aces Andersen, Harris and Garrity are all track specialists and can be nigh on unbeatable. However, the current form of Andersen and Harris must be a worry for the Bees and if they don't perform the Aces should be able to secure the 3 points.
  23. As Belle Vue are their main rivals for a top 4 place it would be madness to have deliberately dropped points tonight. As the league table now stands, comparing points dropped at home to points gained away, Belle Vue are +8 and Swindon -5. That's a net difference of 13 points.
  24. Probably because neither team is manipulating the rules and no guests.
  25. Both sides at full strength apart from Howarth guesting for Fricke.Think he is riding for his Danish club as this is a rearranged fixture. Should be a home win although Wolves often do well at Kirky Lane.
