  1. With Jake allowed an extra ride, not much point signing anyone on so late in the season with only pride to ride for.
  2. Rob's number 1 fan gets his wires crossed again!
  3. Drew for Danny Ayres? At least the track will suit his style more.
  4. Agreed, that's what I and others around me said, when he goaded riders to jump holding the tapes too long at other meetings I have attended.
  5. Yes predictive text is such a pitther. Past tense of race is raced-, too old now, but just content to ride my 1200cc superbike.
  6. What do you expect from TJ when in 3 of his rides he was up against Josh Auty or Jake Allen? Nobody could get anywhere near both of the Scorpions last night including ex Scorpion Capt. Worrall. Nice to see Phillips pick up a point, oh no I forgot, gifted a point!
  7. First visit to Berwick and a nice set up. Looking at the track seemed bare ,dry and packed down hard- with the dubious forecast a no brainer really. Being used to the wide open plains of the EWR, the track seemed quite narrow, enormous long straights and a bit bumpy. On to the racing and very much a gate and go meeting. We were dire out of the gate ,but after a few watering sessions of the by now very dusty track, our boys at last found their gating boots. Congrats to the Bandits another few heats and we might have had a better result but still a respectable final score line for us on our travels. Well done to Lambo on a superb laying down to avoid a major collision with Kevin Doolan. Despite injuring his hand in doing so, he was also so quick to jump up and see how Kevin was and helping him back to his feet- nice to see some rider camaraderie. Sincerely hope Bandits survive good luck for the future. ps why is the F***in A1 between Newcastle and Wetherby always subject to night closures and diversions- 4 hours to get home and not sparing the horses!
  8. Thanks, some conflicting weather forecasts on the net, but setting off 1.30 ish and will check in on here again somewhere up the A1.
  9. Can any Bandit give local forecast mid afternoon before I commit to a 7 hour round trip please.
  10. R/R makes us very weak and we will sorely miss Danny Ayres, we need all 6 to step up their away performances as we have been poor all season on the road. Heart says sneak a point, head says, same old, same old and another away defeat.
  11. You just know Steve and TJ will find some pace and score heavily
  12. Danny Ayres fantastic lad on and off the track. Always gives 100% effort and always gives the fans a wave and thanks. We have had the pleasure at Scunthorpe to listen to his after match comments several times this season and he comes across as a genuine nice guy, quite humble, fiercely self critical and keen to learn to improve at every opportunity. Hope his injury today at Mildenhall has not put paid to his excellent season. Get well soon Danny.
  13. I will settle for a draw but not even hopeful of that with our away form. Probably be a dust bowl with the strong breeze drying even the wettest track after a few heats.
  14. Unlucky heat 15, when on a 5-1 Ben Barker sheds a chain and is spat off the bike gifting Brummies a draw. Curse of the number 1 position continues for us. It was obvious to one and all Jason would take loads of points from this meeting to show Rob the error of his ways. Bright note was young Ryan Kinsley showing his gating skills and his liking for riding the fence.
  15. Light shower over the track now, but blue sky right behind it, so perfect speedway track
  16. Only 30% chance of rain ,that's pretty good odds on it being fine. Get some water down Rob and get an outside line to work to give us a fair chance of a win.
  17. Danny Ayres heroics in heat 19 of British Championship can be seen on sports page on Scunthorpe Live site. An awesome ride!!!
  18. Josh Auty now in British final replacing Robert Lambert. Good luck to Simon and Danny too for tonight's big event
  19. Fair play to the Tigers your heat leaders did what was expected. For us, Danny had his only poor meeting since joining and I am sure he will be totally gutted, as he wears his heart on his sleeve somewhat. Rambo should have had more points with his experience and Ryan is on a too long a lean spell-another victim of young lads making the big jump up a league and struggling. The biggest shocker was the track again. No outside line is a massive hindrance, with our boys searching for dirt that was just not there and going backwards. For a track that had supposedly 1000s of gallons taken off it yesterday, it seemed totally devoid of moisture, with dust flying everywhere from heat 2 onwards. For people saying what a great meeting it was, well perhaps the regular fans have been spoilt and most saying the racing was not so good this week. Josh, Stefan Jake and Ben battled hard but they like riding the fence and we did not prepare the track for home advantage. We can only hope lessons are learnt. Last complaint , How long do we have to endure crap public address system ? Can someone teach Roger to work the P.A system in the bar too!!!
  20. My spy in city centre says not raining and just cloudy, but hey ho, just go up the M18 for a speedway fix at Scunny.
  21. For travelling fans, current weather is cloudy, but dry, light breeze and 16 degrees. Supposed to stay similar all day.
  22. Jason is a good entertainer off track too, we will miss him in the after meeting clubhouse get togethers. You might need a bleep machine to edit some of his comments though.
