  1. I've been off work on the sick for over a month and over that time my opinion has changed. I've watch s#!+ loads of old clips on youtube & Pathé in that time & it all seems very much the same as it is today. So, when did speedway stop being as good as it use to be? It hasn't, I've got older and because of that the focus in life changes. Just a natural process. Crowds are smaller because people have found better things to do with their entrance fee's because they've simply become bored. Smaller crowds have made meetings more boring regardless of the racing. It's as simple as that
  2. That says more about the Swindon fans than Troy imo. I find it quite shameful that he's not allowed to have emotions. People cope in different ways to bad news & Ward wasn't just a team mate but a friend. Batchelor's honesty should have been appreciated rather than lambasted regarding his performance. Maybe the issue should have been taken up with the team manager for allowing Troy to ride in the first place if his mental state isn't on the racing. That's a dangerous situation to place other riders in in the first instance.
  3. Just my opinion. Forget his nationality, in the GP's he's an embarrassment. Lindgren has proven that the GTR's are a quality motor yet Harris last season made it look like a bag of nails. The guy just makes me wince every round. He's clearly ill prepared or being ripped off with his equipment.
  4. Thing is, I can't stand Jerusalem or Land of Hope and Glory either. Both old English with hints of Christianity. England isn't that way either anymore. For me, a completely new song which references our pride and passion to defend our land. Including the pride of all involved in WWI & WWII & our immense battle against terrorism. It has to completely exclude anything to do with religion.
  5. Great win from Woffinden What a cracking GP. Chris Harris, give it up as a bad job with a bit of dignity and allow Lindgren a spot when Hampel returns
  6. Clever from Belle Vue see. A lot of people forget to cash small cheques.
  7. Think the first priority is you get a track. Any extra on that is a plus, I'm sure that's all Rosco will worry about just now.
  8. Just a bit of weather advice, book your hotels up until the Monday and get that day booked off work. Any rain will move meetings back. It's in Manchester remember
  9. New figures released today. Anyone want a laugh??? Bjarne Pedersen as of the 16th May will be Poole's No'6 reserve
  10. It's not negative, I'd say more of an honest opinion. Your opinion must be similar as you've just said we're underdogs. That's not much different from me saying we'll lose Will I be there, depends on the verdict from the Hospital visit tomorrow
  11. That's where you miss understand, the modern day fans are less committed i.e. winning is important. You, me & many others who've been around a while like to see good racing. For the newer fans to keep them interested teams have to be winning. That's modern life I'm afraid
  12. That 1st line is absolutely important and considering this is effectively opening night 1500-2000 people is extremely disappointing. Worse built stadiums have had better opening night figures than that. Over the next few weeks will tell if that's the opening night numbers and the rest of the season drops below that, that will surely become a concern to the promotion in making the stadium pay quite quickly?? What if Belle Vue continually lose at home? As you know, modern day Speedway fans ain't as committed as years gone by.
  13. Absolutely didn't see that coming Congratulations to the Robins on their away win
  14. Thanks, may just add the King's Lynn fixture when it appears then Anything special happening tonight to kick off the Aces 1st meeting or are Belle Vue just going for the usual?
  15. Do Clean Cut sell, or are they specifically just a feed for SpeedwayGB?
  16. Chris stated he couldn't afford the outlay for the engines (around 6-7 I seem to remember) so had to fall back on some of the GM's he'd already had + a couple of new. it was Eskil Suter, less so Marcel who had concerns the Bomber wasn't showcasing the engines to the best of their ability so was interested in securing bigger names as factory riders. So far, this has proven a good investment from Gehard Motor Co in Freddie Lindgren.
  17. hopefully some clips will be shown for the first meeting. Anyone know if Sky are rocking up with a single camera as they have in the past? Re-Run videos?
  18. It's only this morning the news and replacement was found. Doyle crashed again last night in Sweden
  19. In the bag for the Aces now even though it's the first ever home meeting. No comparison in Harris for Doyle
  20. Whoever the 2 Poles are, they'll be the clear favorites then Lambert & Kurtz scrapping for the 3rd podium spot
