  1. We have tracks like it King's Lynn Peterborough Sheffield Coventry We just don't have the standard of rider that can use and abuse these places. We have to many trick tracks with to many trick track riders and for us in the UK absolutely hampers our ability to progress on the world stage. To many tracks are really badly prepared and the better tracks also in the wrong leagues.
  2. Congratulations Greg Hancock. As big a legend in the sport as any other rider in history. Real Worldy
  3. You like crashes, fair enough but the main reason for not showing replays will be down to relatives viewing and respect required.
  4. Absolutely agree but the availability of the Millennium Stadium is a major problem in October and that's the only venue that could justify such an event. Wembley would be a no go as seen already weather wise this month.
  5. You are correct on your 1st part but if Ward is free to compete in 2015 I have no doubt Monster will push for Ward to get a wildcard. It wouldn't surprise me if they've stipulated it in their renewed contact. Everybody knows in the right frame of mind Darcy is World Champion material and Monster want part of that. This was seen with Woffinden. Started last year's World Championship bear on sponsorship, then starts floating around the top of the leaderboard, BANG, Monster sponsorship done. These guys want their name topping the charts, that means including Darcy. It all comes down to the FIM decision though. If he's cleared he'll be in the 2015 series, no doubt. Hopefully the FIM make the right decision though and that's at least a 2 year ban with the 2nd year suspended with Ward having to take a test at every meeting including league meetings.
  6. With the news of planning permission of a new housing estate on Brandon Stadium going ahead I think Coventry fans would be wise to keep their money in their pockets personally.
  7. Thanks for the links Question though, are both heats 14 & 15 nominated races? If so, how come each team nominates the riders in the heats then occasionally overlays a rider with another rider. It seems like a tactical switch in a nominated heat. Just doesn't make sense to me? It is something I've only just noticed in Polish speedway
  8. Correct, if the 2nd leg doesn't run the 1st leg result stands.
  9. Is there any way I can see reruns of today's final?? To much buffering for me today so I switch off early doors
  10. Here's a radical idea that just popped in my head. I think we should run with a North / South Premier League like mentioned in the original post, racing any day of the week except a Monday. No GP / SEC riders etc. On the Monday night have an Elite 4's tournament. Depending on the number of teams interested it could be 8 teams split between North / South or 16 teams split North / South / East / West. Either way it's groups of 4 teams, 4 riders at 4 tracks (example; Kings Lynn, Ipswich, Peterborough, Rye House) 2v2 GP / SEC etc riders included (max of 2 per team + any of your top 4 from Premier League team) 13 heat format Standard heat race points (3-2-1-0) Heat 13 is the top riders from each team (Individual Final) Meeting points per team, 1st (4pts) 2nd (3pts) 3rd (2pts) 4th (0pts) North / South, top 2 qualify for final North / South / East / West, top qualify for final A maximum of 8 Monday fixtures per team (2 at home) Something along those lines would create interest and could generate an interest in fans travelling away (3 sets of away support rather than 1)
  11. Happened in this year's World Cup meeting at King's Lynn. Darcy got a sulk on and left his bike in the middle of the track just over the start finish line and walked back to the pits while the race was still running.
  12. Right call. Nearly all tracks have advertising on the fences today. Imagine if you're team was on a 5-1 and the rider at the back took off the advertising to cause all four back. Would that be fair??
  13. I believe the rules are that as long as you're 21 at the start of the season you can participate in U21 events
  14. So, there's moaning about a meeting only going to 12 heats yet a rider had a huge crash an no concern for him. Priorities all wrong here folks
  15. Absolutely. If only airfences were around in his early career at least 2 of his big bangs on turn 4 round the NA he'd of walked away from. Most certainly would have been in the Elite League by now but for injuries but that could be said sadly for a lot of up and coming riders. Injuries are the saddest part of our sport but also have to be expected. Best wishes for the future Darren
  16. Ward suspended then given a wildcard. That would mean his suspension has served no purpose. To get back in, Ward has to qualify.
  17. I certainly didn't see any bias from Pearson towards Hancock. Regardless of the crash this is also a competition to be World Champion and I believe Pearson was reflecting the impact it could have on it. No other commentator would have been any different. Certainly showed enough concern for Iversen IMO
  18. Last night's GP proved to me that if Darcy Ward was to be suspended for 2 years or missed out on the GP's for 2 years it would be no great shakes. There are plenty of great, exciting young riders coming through for the future and he'd be very easily forgotten.
  19. I think KingKennethSpeed is right about a lot of things, just very clever on how to get under people's skins which I find funny to be honest.
  20. Proof if ever it was needed that the rear tyre huggers are a waste of time. With the old rear guard, although the hand would have gone in it still would have been easier for Hancock to get his hand out. He had to be very forceful to remove his arm. Any chance on getting some answer on this???
  21. The 4 wildcards will be dependent on current injuries. Niels has Tweeted his season could be over so no doubt 1 of those spaces will be his if he was to slip out the top 8. Harsh if not
  22. As a King's Lynn Stars fan and I'd hope our promotion would feel the same too, I'd only want regional leagues providing we're in the Southern region with Peterborough, Ipswich and Rye House. Our biggest rivals during our previous Elite & Premier League history. If we were in with them, a massive thumbs up There will be a huge rider availability problem though as nearly all will want the Southern Region League also I have no doubt.
  23. I think the FIM are playing a game here. They may have Ward's legal team stating issues with the test. So what do they do? Suspend him until they investigate the legal claim which will run to the end of the season then clear him for the start of 2015. A classic game of chess
