  1. Don't know how you got all of that out of what I've said. I neither said Polish Speedway was rich in the 70s, neither did I say anything about free press etc in that era. 70s Polish Speedway wasn't full of riches, but it was as is today full of spectators. It had, as it does today, have it's own stadia. I never even said EVERY track in British Speedway was owned by the Speedway but there was a significant number that were, now lost forever. Polish Speedway has gone from rags to riches, I've never said otherwise. What it's always done though is adapt & maintain the interest in the sport. Sometimes British Speedway has failed to do. Polish Speedway today bares no resemblance of British Speedway of the 70s - 80s what so ever.
  2. Polish Speedway is very very different to British Speedway of the 70's. Everything from then to now is nothing of the same. For a start, Speedway was a hobby compared to today. So much money from sponsorship, TV, etc today where then it was heavily reliant on people through the turnstiles. Polish Speedway, like Premier League football have proven they can continue & adapted to less or no fans in the grounds. People talk about Speedway in Poland as some sort of new phenomenon but it's been massive their since the 70's too. What they've managed to do is progress & adapt to fit each decade. British Speedway's biggest & the only thing that's killed the sport here was the selling off of stadia to greyhounds, stockcars, rugby clubs etc. This single handedly set the decline. Whereas Poland have managed to keep & build new stadia for themselves. Yes we have Belle Vue but that has come at least 30 years to late. British Speedway stadia has gotten so bad they're places today's people just don't want to be.
  3. If Corona os still lingering around the world, Doyle won't be at Swindon
  4. what's the point in that?!? Sport is for winning, not just making Play-Off's fgs. That team is nowhere near winning the title, that means it's not a good team & a poor top 2 that are there to win matches.
  5. Is it still an 'if' for Lambert to Torun? Will be a massive L imo to see him go their alongside the Holder's. That club & those 2 will drag Lambert down, he needs to be away from them. Plus if their squad is correct they look an absolutely awful team.
  6. Who can blame the Pole's? Rider's want the money & they pay the money. Unlike most other league's they pay large signing on fees too. The Pole's rightly so have to protect themselves. It's now down to the rider's. Sweden & Poland will 100% be the picks. The only rider of the top of my that may have a tug at the heart string will be Bewley at Belle Vue. Doyle has been a stalwart of British Speedway but even he would drop the UK without a thought. Pedersen is upset, but that more to do with his age & wanting to earn a maximum amount before retirement. A genuine question here, which other of the Premiership's "top" rider's will get Ekstraliga rider's & be missed from British Speedway? I'm genuinely struggling & don't see why British fans are concerned. Jaimon Lidsey will have a choice to make but has shown on the continent he could already be above British Speedway level.
  7. I'll bring it back Jason Garrity is a cu...........
  8. Lets not forget that many many rider's are using Snus / Snuff & blatantly making requests for purchases on social media. Some will say it's only nicotine but it's used to heighten senses & believe it improves performance. An illegal substance in Europe but never ever gets talked about. This is still cheating & as bad as any rider that does class A/B substances imo.
  9. Forget this news story briefly, a side question. What's happened to the supposedly "random drug tests" in British Speedway & how on earth had he avoided one all this time??
  10. Small oil burner. Those little ones with the tin candles in the bottom & oil tray on top. Never tried it but a logical cheap option to try maybe, less of a fire risk? Not sure whether the smell is from just fuel, oil or a bit of both burnt though?
  11. 3-2-1-0 is perfectly fine in team events. No way should more points be awarded for 2nd-3rd over a guy winning the race. What should be don't is bonus points for team riding in 1st & 2nd only then these are used if count back is required. The aim in Speedway should always be 'win races & look after your team', never 'look after your team & let them win races'. What you could do is make it more of a killer for rider's finishing last with 5-3-2-0. Nobody would want to be 8-2'd
  12. And rightly so. His career is moving on & he doesn't need the messed up British Speedway. If he wants to still race every day he has Poland, Sweden, Denmark & Germany to do that
  13. This has got to be a joke pick for GB hasn't it?? We're f*****
  14. Could the fact Eurosport has the rights to British Speedway tick part of their 'Grassroots' quota.
  15. I'm being proper dumb today, what does this all mean in layman's terms. 1. Are OneSport & BSI totally removed? 2. Have Eurosport become the series organisers? 3. Will Eurosport show the sport on their channels or are they selling to 3rd parties (BT, Sky etc)? 4. Do Eurosport now have some say over each individual countries leagues?
  16. How about building the streaming into season tickets making those better value for money?? When your club is away from home the stream is free. Have independent season tickets available for around 60 meetings for £100. I just feel that having single meetings available it will have a massive detrimental effect on British Speedway, making things far harder than they are now. The biggest thing to think about is our weather, people will most certainly then just sit at home & wait a few minutes to tapes up then purchase. Unfortunately we may think there may be a right way to use things but this pandemic has proven that 9/10 times there's a huge "all about me" selfishness going on.
  17. Think we need some perspective here. Some are saying £12 is to much for streaming, even if it's a Premiership meeting. The thing is, clubs would still have to cover the same costs. With standard entrance at £18 how many would actually stay away from stadiums to save £6?? I'd say A LOT. Once you factor in fuel, programme & food, the opportunity to watch your team on the sofa, £12 is cheap. Meetings online when the fans are allowed to return will not be financially viable unless the cost of a stream matches the admission costs imo.
  18. Although I've no complaints about Jack Holder getting the Wildcard I'm a little disappointed the already qualified SEC winner Robert Lambert hasn't had a shout for any of these rounds.
  19. What exactly are the other options available to the BSI??
