  1. I'm being proper dumb today, what does this all mean in layman's terms. 1. Are OneSport & BSI totally removed? 2. Have Eurosport become the series organisers? 3. Will Eurosport show the sport on their channels or are they selling to 3rd parties (BT, Sky etc)? 4. Do Eurosport now have some say over each individual countries leagues?
  2. How about building the streaming into season tickets making those better value for money?? When your club is away from home the stream is free. Have independent season tickets available for around 60 meetings for £100. I just feel that having single meetings available it will have a massive detrimental effect on British Speedway, making things far harder than they are now. The biggest thing to think about is our weather, people will most certainly then just sit at home & wait a few minutes to tapes up then purchase. Unfortunately we may think there may be a right way to use things but this pandemic has proven that 9/10 times there's a huge "all about me" selfishness going on.
  3. Think we need some perspective here. Some are saying £12 is to much for streaming, even if it's a Premiership meeting. The thing is, clubs would still have to cover the same costs. With standard entrance at £18 how many would actually stay away from stadiums to save £6?? I'd say A LOT. Once you factor in fuel, programme & food, the opportunity to watch your team on the sofa, £12 is cheap. Meetings online when the fans are allowed to return will not be financially viable unless the cost of a stream matches the admission costs imo.
  4. Although I've no complaints about Jack Holder getting the Wildcard I'm a little disappointed the already qualified SEC winner Robert Lambert hasn't had a shout for any of these rounds.
  5. What exactly are the other options available to the BSI??
  6. Or we could just have the radical idea of you're only exclude if you touch the tapes?!? Speedway doesn't & has no real need for transponder technology. With regards to Madsen, he just has exceptional gating ability. What needs to be worked on is the slack in the tapes. Noticed many times that riders were accused of jumping when in fact the outside of the tapes are released. Theres a split second where the centre of the tapes are still in a stationery position & if you're on gate 2 or 3 & make a perfect start it looks far worse than on gate 1 & 4.
  7. It's incredible when you think that possibly the 2 most boring sports in the public eye are the ones that give you the biggest buzz throughout the whole game / meeting. England's T20 & Speedway offer so much. Unfortunately for speedway, especially up & down the UK finding those thrilling race meetings are very few & far between. Would be lucky if it's 1 in 5 meetings of any significant quality I'd say. How that could be improved on though really is the impossible question except for turning every track into Belle Vue, which also is impossible.
  8. Why's it weird, many of us are still big fans hence why we still appear on this forum but only watch "big time" Speedway, Exstraliga, Elitserien, SGP, SEC, World Cups etc. We've just lost interest in the dross served in the UK. Only watch (quite often briefly as the meetings are so bad) UK Speedway on BT.
  9. After barely missing a Stars home meeting & a few away for 20+ years I haven't missed it at all. Been living just outside Wolverhampton for the past 3 years & only been once when Lynn were there, 3 years ago. I'm happy with just watching BT's Speedway coverage, a few Exstraliga & Elitserien meetings that's it. British Speedway is dead to me
  10. That is exactly my point. The moaning regarding Lindgren is ridiculous. The rider's know the rules & if they're willing to put it all on the line in the qualifying heats & flop under pressure that's not Lindgren's fault. I'd love Woffy to win it again but I can't see it but I wouldn't mind Lindgren doing it. He knows how to be consistent.
  11. For the record, does anyone think Mark Loram wasn't a deserving World Champion?
  12. Those calling for the double headers to continue when the crowds hopefully return, just imagine the hotel costs for Cardiff weekend?? Yep, the moaning would proper kick off.
  13. I understand what Bellamy was saying though last night. Under the old system there was no pressure on the final for the highest scoring riders. I wasn't a fan before last night of the scoring. After though I didn't mind and actually added a bit more enjoyment. Zmarzlik, Madsen & Emil getting knocked out was good viewing & Freddie scraping through on 7 & bagging 16 points was great. It's about dealing with pressure and the 3 of them didn't.
  14. No foreign teams in the Exstraliga, you sure about that or just opinion?
  15. Think this & next season are well out the window for obvious reasons
  16. Love Adam Ellis to do it. Woffinden, Lambert, Ellis in the GP's for 2021 would be something us British fans should want.
  17. I think Zmarzlik is one of the reasons they've changed the scoring system, simply because he's so fast & wins most of his heats. Hate the new scoring system but what it does do is see which riders handle being under pressure the best in the semi & final.
  18. In this order for me: 1. Sayfutdinov 2. Zmarzlik 3. Woffinden 4. Madsen 5. Lindgren
  19. I know age has no bearing in general but between these two it does. Holder has been around the Polish league longer + having his brother beside him, plus Monster backing all at Torun so should be more experienced & ahead of Lambert.
  20. I think it's difficult to assess between J.Holder & Lambert in the Exstraliga. Jack has a consistent position in the team whereas Lambert being No8 gets dumped into all the tougher heats because Rybnik are so so bad as a team. Next season should be a good comparison as I can't see Lambert & Holder not getting in an Exstraliga team's 7. For the record, Jack is 2 years older at 24 so should actually be a bit further on than he is in his career.
