  1. Pedersen isn't the rider he was but capable of still sticking it to most of the leagues No1 & 5's though. Message to all rider's though; don't try and pass him round the outside
  2. Now Poole have dropped a division I'd like to see us go all out and grab Brady Kurtz, Josh Grajczonek and Richie Worrall. 1. Robert Lambert 7.81 2. Eric Riss 6.61 3. Josh Grajczonek 7.29 4. Richie Worrall 5.22 5. Brady Kurtz 7.54 6. Ty Proctor 4.43 7. Ellis Perks 3.57 Ave: 42.44
  3. I think the flow of the meetings is a major thing. There's far more of 'nothing going on' than actual racing'. Obviously there are the usual things like crashes that can stall a meeting but there are other means to quicken up the flow of racing. Getting rider's on track: always be a heat ahead, i.e. at the start of the meeting after parade etc the rider's for heat 1 & 2 come out. Heat 2 rider's sit on the centre ready. When Heat 1 is complete and those riders are on there way back to the pits, the rider's for heat 3 sit in the centre etc etc. Time allowance: The 2 mins are on automatically when the last rider from the previous heat crosses the line. Like GP's, have to be ready to race when the 2 mins clock is 0. 2 rides on the trot: If a rider has 2 heat consecutive they must ride their spare bike and be ready in the 2 mins of the previous heat finishing. If they have no spare bike, then a team mates has to be used. Track grading: This can only take place after heats 4, 8 and 12. Heat 15: Rider's are nominated for Heat 15 by the team manager when Heat 13 is completed. These are small things but then at least the bikes are on track at all times.
  4. I don't think King should be anywhere near the GB side anymore, had his chance.
  5. Again, another Speedway equivalent. Excellent quality, great value for money but many refuse to try it as it's at the lowest level of the rung. People don't like to be seen buying cheap as it makes them feel inferior.
  6. Agree, Cadbury's just give me a constant headache these days. Stick to Galaxy now, can't be beaten. Unlike Speedway, it offers good value for money. Cadbury's has turned into the Speedway equivalent, lower the standards and charge more for it.
  7. Real pleased this was a good meeting with plenty of on track entertaining racing. So it begs the question, what was the difference to a regular Stars meeting that are generally a borefest?? Was the track prep different at all?? Standard of rider on offer racing against a similar calibre each heat??
  8. It's relevant in that the idea has come about because fans, promoters etc get frustrated that they're unable to keep their title winning 7 for continuity. If the team building average is allowed to be (for example) 46.78 and the title winning team makes 3 changes, these changes would only be made, in the main, because they have more chance of increasing their individual average over the rider's from the previous season. This then would make it even more difficult for the chasing pack to build a team that would be competitive. In principle the idea is ok but the reality will be very different. Sticking to a set team average of 42.50 or 45.00 make far more sense.
  9. I'm not convinced this is a good idea at all. The reason I'd say is that the idea is to keep the same 1-7? If that's the case then Swindon's team would be in trouble as I don't see a great deal of improvement average wise in their team so would end up stagnant. While every other team are able to strengthen significantly that it would put Swindon in danger of not making the play-offs at all. If Swindon are allowed to sign whoever they like up to last seasons average then wouldn't that defeat the objective of allowing teams averages to be set by the title winning team so that they can keep the same 7?? If the latter is the case, we may as well stick with the 42.50
  10. This move is perfect for a none attending Speedway fan like me. Certainly won't be watching any meetings live and will just watch the highlights. Most TV meeting are abysmal and a drain to watch live with significant numbers switching off before a meeting is finished as they're so bad. If a high number of Pole's do decide to check out what the fuss is all about, it will be a very embarrassing moment for British Speedway imo.

  12. While 10 weeks is to short a season, 20 week season would be a realistic target. What is baffling, especially in the Premiership is the lack of fixtures in July & August. The months kids are off school and more free family time the Speedway season seems to go into shutdown. If anything, the BSPA needs to make these two months in the year are jam packed with fixtures.
  13. Very likely for British Speedway meetings, Pearson and Tatum will be included in the TV package. BSPA will want to look after Pearson especially as he does and awful lot of groundwork for them.
  14. Proctor on a 4.30 is good value. Will easily add to that next year. I'd say Lambert and Cook are certs and we should build around those two. For me, Jørgensen & MPT havn't done enough and will be very weak No2 & No4's. 1. Lambert 7.81 2. 6.00 3. Riss 6.61 4. 6.00 5. Cook 7.78 6. Proctor 4.30 7. Nicol 4.00 42.5 I'd say that's where we need to be, 2 fresh faces in the middle order with away meetings in mind would be very solid.
  15. Obviously many will have other options but as Robert Lambert's injury seemed to put a break on his 2019 season, I believe it will mean we will get another year out of him at the AFA. There are suggestions that he may not be asked back by Lublin as they've been disappointed with his performances. Obtaining only a 3.48 average. Potentially now a shoe-in to remain in British Speedway for 2020. For me: 1. 2. 3. E.Riss 6.61 4. M.Palm-Toft 6.30 5. R.Lambert 7.81 6. 7. B.Nicol 3.97 Fill in the gaps for the rest
  16. Then neither will the Pride of the East return
  17. The quality of rider matters. If the line-up consists of Simon Lambert, Doolan, Jorgensen etc absolutely, only a minimal amount of fans will turn up. With the original Pride of the East meetings we had the best of the best and fans used to pack out Saddlebow Road from up and down the country. The only way for the Pride of the East to ever pack out again it has to consist of the world's best. A full field of GP standard or at least Polish Exstraliga rider's with huge financial reward. Anything less, nobody cares feom rider's or fans.
  18. I thought the same but he accepted a guest offer. Maybe bridges have been rebuilt. Rory is an exceptional team man and everywhere he goes he makes sure team spirit is in abundance. I'd have Rory in at a drop of a hat, good home and away. Rory would bring stability, he'd be my first signing.
  19. I can see Cook at King's Lynn in 2020. Dale talked well of Cook and understands fully the issues Craig is dealing with. I get the feeling Dale would be happy to help him out and play a protective figure to Cook. It may well be what Cook needs also. Below would be a good team to start the season and then make a few changes if needed as the season goes by. 1. R.Lambert 8.04 2. R.Worrall 5.22 3. R.Schlein 7.18 4. E.Riss 6.61 5. C.Cook 8.00 6. B.Nichol 4.00 7. A.Morris 3.32 Ave: 42.37
  20. Crowds for the average stock cars meeting at King's Lynn are quite deceiving to the general public. While it does look far more spectators than Speedway, 20-30% of the crowd are actually the drivers families and mechanics that don't pay to get in. On average, I'd say the stock car crowds are not that much larger, about 200-300 more. As a business though for Buster, with Speedway he has to pay money out, with Stocks money is only coming in. Just on that basis stock cars take priority over Speedway.
  21. Not quite true, every fan of clubs, countries and individual events expect riders to give their all at all times. Speedway racing is all about putting everything on the line, even their own lives. Same as any motor sport. If you're not prepared to die to win you may as well quit the sport as you'd be racing as a fraud, ripping off the paying the public, not doing yourself justice to try and make a decent living.
  22. I think poor Robert has come back way to soon. In the GP it was like watching a different person. He's was looking so tentative last night. Clearly the back injury has been such a shock as to how close his life would have come to changing. Throttling off when others were close, in a few heats he was as quick if not quicker but just wasn't interested in making a move. Fingers crossed that this isn't the moment when we see such a local hero's potential to be one of the world's best takes a back seat and he ends up just going through the motions here on in like so many before him.
  23. Warning, real life. May be a difficult read for some. Quite possibly, but it's not as an excuse as some are making out. Craig's issues are real, like mine. Just to give an insight, this is where I'm at in terms of illness, depression and anxiety and what Craig could be going through. Just to clarify though, not one case is exactly the same, none are to be placed under one umbrella. Current illness started from are servere bang to the head in 2016, probably the 4th I've had in my lifetime (coming up to 41yo). 4 times unconscious, fell down stairs at about 10yo. 16yo, again fell down stairs after a blackout. 23yo, I can't remember what happened but supposedly smashed unconscious from being hit with a car door. 37yo, again can't remember but supposedly blacked out and smashed my head on the bathroom sink and toilet. Brief medical history from this point; 5 CAT & MRI scans, all clear Numerous counselling (unaffective) Suicide attempts Medication (unaffective when certain cases arise) Severe Fybromyalgia Anxiety and depression Currently on long term sick for 3 years since April 2016. Currently, have an awesomely supportive partner but when you've lost long term friends and an unsupportive family so days become very long and lonely. Currently unable to cope with busy areas, never go anywhere alone. Communication is very difficult and frustrating. Can't have full on conversations, just simple yes-no or nodding. Conversation is to much, what I'm thinking and what I can say is not the same. Some days I can't even move, dress myself, shower etc due to excessive pain. Another day I manage 10 mile walks no problem. I just don't know when these days are coming. I've had 3 failed attempts at claiming for help from the 'Department of Work & Pension' for 'Personal Independence Payments'. This pressure to try and survive from day to day is very exhausting. I'm sure now and again you've seen my life frustration spill out on here. That's another thing, because of what you see and read you really are clueless to what that person is going through. There is not 1 simple fix to each and every situation. I'm sorry, but for me, counsellors have been and absolute waste of time and money. Medication at most works until something happens. There's also no simple "Just get over it" fix either. For Craig, should his mental health stop him from doing what he does best? 100% absolutely not. The world of Speedway, fans, rider's, promoter's etc know Craig's problems. Craig's defence s simple, the opposition prey on his weaknesses and force a reaction knowing they'll get one. This is exactly what happened and Eastbourne. Craig, over that situation would have fallen in to deep depression and regret over it. To get his mind straight again will take time, but 100%, the sport shouldn't take away from him one of the only thing that keeps him saine, racing his bikes. Providing Craig has the strength and ability to race, no way does his mental health make him dangerous. The only things dangerous are outside influences who know which buttons to push and intentionally push them. The playground bully, these are the kind of people that can be claimed as unstable and should be banned from the sport.
  24. The scoring system in British Speedway is the best thing the BSPA have ever come up with. The system keeps meetings alive far longer than the standard system
