  1. I think heat 8 last night proves that it wouldn't be pointless.
  2. Yep, 2022 possibly? Like most good ideas it got binned for some bizarre reason.
  3. As I've already mentioned I think an easy solution would be to have a number eight on site. Jody Scott was there last night, wouldn't be difficult for every team to nominate somebody for each meeting to cover for their riding star. Not really on to protect a heat and then leave a loophole.
  4. Thought that was a really good cup tie. Plenty of hard fought heats and several passes in front of a very healthy crowd. I don't think six points will be anywhere enough and unfortunately again the Stars struggled to churn out heat advantages but it was good to have a decent atmosphere and plenty of away fans in attendance. Kvech and Bomber were excellent while the others all had their moments except Ashton who surely must be done now. Sayfutdinov was fantastic in four rides and completely uninterested in the other two which was made for an odd performance. Jenkins I thought was excellent and battled harder than anyone. King and Brennan were fabulous when they gated and nowhere when they didn't and Ellis rode his nuts off for little reward. If Lynn start like they did on Mayday then you never know but I expect Ipswich to win comfortably on aggregate.
  5. Very much agree, a Rising Star or a nominated numer 8 should be having a minimum of three 'rides'.
  6. He got as many points as Jolly did all those years ago when he slid off on a 1-5 and stayed down 👍
  7. Or have a number 8 present to take any remaining RS rides.
  8. IF he has been banned for 28 days as suggested then he won't be riding for Lynn tomorrow anyway.
  9. When he makes the start he is as quick as anyone and has beaten some big names so I can understand why the club have persevered with him. However two Young Stars in Luke Harrsion and Jody Scott are riding superbly at the moment so I'd expect one of them to get a go now.
  10. He's not daft, he will be well aware that Boughen is throttling off and completely in the wrong head state to compete properly at the moment. Like others have said Ashton needs to somehow get back into the third division, get a psychologist on board and sort out his issues because the current status quo is doing absolutely nobody any good whatsoever.
  11. Harris has been in the game long enough to understand why clubs drop riders.
  12. And lots of non weak links. He was one of twelve current GP riders in the 2023 meeting and top scored out of everyone. He is generally very, very good at BV and has been for years, but he needs to raise his game considerably from the first three rounds to do well there in a fortnight.
  13. He's scored big points in lots of meetings there that weren't British Finals (including two SoN's) so a bit of an odd comment.
  14. You are usually ITK Phil and I don't doubt that info was accurate at some point, but Luke was on our podcast last Wednesday week and said that he is waiting for the call for a RS position as he feels he's ready. Probably would be but sometimes in sport you have to be ruthless and Cairns has the potential to be much, much better than Mulford very quickly. They'd be daft not to get him in if he wants to do it.
  15. Janowski is but always scores well at Lynn so I'd imagine he wasn't interested rather than not been asked. Ippo must have approached him surely.
  16. While I take the point that Lambert hasn't been good this year, Kerr hadn't been either yet rocked up at Lynn and hit paid seventeen. Never underestimate a rider who knows the Lynn track well and how to set a bike up for it. Add to that Lynn being as consistent as school custard this season and it really could be any score either way. But I agree with taps, we will never have a better chance to sole our local rivals.
