  1. Maybe but that had nothing to do with last night's crash, none of the GP boys were in that heat, he had made a good start and was in complete control of the race. Just a big slice of bad luck, it happens.
  2. I think its more likely because it just not a very good speedway track nowadays. Used to be very good but that was some time ago (20 years plus).
  3. Certainly wasn't 'overdoing it' but was unfortunate to pick up some unexpected grip coming out of turn two while leading. Was a real shame as he was riding splendidly up to that point and had beaten all three of Gorzow's GP men in their own back yard.
  4. Big difference between a track which is usually excellent being poor now and again and a track which is usually poor being excellent now and again.
  5. Doesn't really matter which teams are or aren't involved, its the inconsistency that gets to people. I was under the impression you could have guests for pretty much anything in the NL & NDT anyway, obviously not!
  6. It'd be interesting to know why Oxford weren't allowed one for Jason Garrad and Poole are for Richard Lawson.
  7. Paluch and R/R making all the difference. Byd need Huckenbeck to pull his finger out, such a frustrating rider.
  8. To that end I'd recommend that you contact Jason Pipe and he'll tell you how many riders agreed to ride and then withdrew or were asked but declined the invitation. The 'Young Stars' part of the meeting name was to differentiate between the level that the senior side ride at and the National Development League which pretty much every rider in the meeting rides in. As an event I think it was a big success and will have done many of the riders present the world of good.
  9. Did you actually watch? GB had a plan with Lambert on the inside and Bewely on the outside every time, worked well. RUSHEN for crying out loud. If somebody does then brilliant, a nice problem to have.
  10. Did I dream it or did Sheffield get a facility for Jack Holder for family reasons earlier in the season?
  11. I think its a matter of a lack of experience abroad for the two Lukes, in terms of how to ride those tracks and set the bike up for them. They will both have learned a shed load from the meeting but I think the Team GB set up needs to get our 15 & 16 year olds riding in Poland and other countries on 500cc machines more regularly if we want to be competitive in these types of meetings. You could see from the way they were riding that Bednar, the Danes, the Aussies etx are all completely at home on a track like Torun and that only comes from experience, and probably loads of training time.
  12. Yep I'd go Cairns & Rushen for next time and stick with them while they are eligible. Presume its a SWC event next year rather than SoN?
  13. Its more about pairings and who rides better with who. Howarth has been at 4 all season, you wouldn't move him just for the final. King has been at 2 pretty much all year too.
  14. I don't think people are bothered about a speedway rider/ sportsman changing their nationality necessarily, but they absolutely should not be able to represent their 'new' nation in a senior event if they have already done so for their original country (a la football).
  15. Line up: 1 Cooper Rushen 2 Jason Garrad 3 Kai Ward 4 Kenzie Cossey 5 Ben Trigger 6 Dylan Huthwaite 7 Will Cairns 8 Ollie Binns 9 Jack Smith 10 James Shanes 11 Ryan Ingram 12 Darryl Ritchings 13 Ben Morley 14 Sam Woods 15 Dayle Wood 16 Jordy Loftus
  16. Same way you can top a league table and not win the title I guess.
  17. No idea why anybody (let alone a sponsor of a club) would see fit to laugh at a promising young rider for having an injury-affected bad night anyway. Weird.
  18. I think we all need to remember why we watch sport, and thats to enjoy it, enjoy the really good moments as they don't come round very often. Beating your local rivals in the 30th heat of a semi final should absolutely be savoured. The riders will know that they need to go again with that same intensity of the final. If that doesn't go to plan and they'd held back on the good feeling of the semi final then its celebrations wasted. I'd never criticise any team for celebrating any win in any sport, as long as opposition fans aren't being goaded. Enjoy the smooth as there's plenty of rough which isn't as much fun.
