  1. Smith and Morley have been tried umpteen times in this league by various teams and haven't made the grade, at least Newcastle are trying something/someone different.
  2. Yes those last couple of spots should be keenly contested but there are going to be some massive home wins. I'd say BV once Zagar comes in, Ipswich with Doyle and Lynn with a strong reserve could all end up in the final against Sheffield if things go their way, it's very open.
  3. Indeed less teams and six is too few but on paper at least the Prem looks far more competitive than the Champs thos year, big gulf between the top and bottom and you could guess four or five Play Off teams right now.
  4. I think Glasgow's team has the most potential but I just can't see anyone beating Poole over two legs injuries permitting.
  5. I know Scunny are strong at home but that's some collapse by Leicester.
  6. Probably judging by how they've started the season but you never know, we have enough riders who can get round the EoES well enough!
  7. A tasty looking league cup clash at the EoES, Lynn's first team meeting of the season. Would be delighted with a point. Hopefully everyone comes through their weekend commitments in one piece!
  8. Well done Oxford and congratulations to all for a successful return!
  9. Jack Thomas having an excellent debut for Oxford this evening.
  10. I used to go regularly 2006-08 when they were second division and sporadically before that, it's a lovely little track when prepared well, small but not turn-yourself-inside-out tight. Unfortunately since then its often resembled a ploughed field from what I've heard and seen. Used to do amazing fish and chips too, all in the middle of nowhere surrounded by trees and fields. Was a cracking Sunday afternoon out in the right weather.
  11. What's he done? Stand by for cries of 'it makes them stronger'!!! from down Dorset way
  12. Extremely disrespectful to the rest of the Plymouth team who made you look a bit silly by getting a point.
  13. I work outside and I use the Met office app rather than the BBC one, it tends to be much more accurate. I think the Beeb stopped using the met office a few years ago and their accuracy suffered as a result. I think Lynn speedway use RAF Marham weather station.
  14. Redcar is much more away-rider-friendly than Wimborne Road, expect Plymouth to perform much better but the Bears to come out on top.
  15. Now 80% and 90% chance of rain in Lynn before 7pm.... its starting to look like they might have got this spot on.
  16. Again, don't disagree and I'm making the assumption that it's a financial thing. Maybe Poole aren't so worried about crowd levels being hot by forecasts because you are running at a cheaper level? Maybe you are less affected anyway as people travel less far? You are right, fixtures will end up being crammed in, it happens every year in both leagues.
  17. I don't disagree at all, I'm just looking at it from their point of view. It's already cold, windy and a bit showery, some would have already decided to stay away. Grachan is right that they risk putting keen people off but I can also see why they've done it when they need healthy crowds to survive.
  18. Probably the same as Lynn, people are far lesslikely to travel if its a damp evening, especially BV fans. Clubs obviously want to maximise gate receipts. Agree with Geachan though, it risks putting g people off.
  19. I've no doubt if the weather was lovely like a couple of weeks ago and there was plenty of fuel for everyone then there would be a very healthy crowd tonight, but people don't want to stand in cold, damp conditions and riders not fancying it on a wet night and watching Buster spend hours relaying the track for no reason. We've all been there before.
