I work outside and I use the Met office app rather than the BBC one, it tends to be much more accurate. I think the Beeb stopped using the met office a few years ago and their accuracy suffered as a result. I think Lynn speedway use RAF Marham weather station.

Redcar is much more away-rider-friendly than Wimborne Road, expect Plymouth to perform much better but the Bears to come out on top.

Now 80% and 90% chance of rain in Lynn before 7pm.... its starting to look like they might have got this spot on.

Again, don't disagree and I'm making the assumption that it's a financial thing. Maybe Poole aren't so worried about crowd levels being hot by forecasts because you are running at a cheaper level? Maybe you are less affected anyway as people travel less far? You are right, fixtures will end up being crammed in, it happens every year in both leagues.

I don't disagree at all, I'm just looking at it from their point of view. It's already cold, windy and a bit showery, some would have already decided to stay away. Grachan is right that they risk putting keen people off but I can also see why they've done it when they need healthy crowds to survive.

Probably the same as Lynn, people are far lesslikely to travel if its a damp evening, especially BV fans. Clubs obviously want to maximise gate receipts. Agree with Geachan though, it risks putting g people off.

I've no doubt if the weather was lovely like a couple of weeks ago and there was plenty of fuel for everyone then there would be a very healthy crowd tonight, but people don't want to stand in cold, damp conditions and riders not fancying it on a wet night and watching Buster spend hours relaying the track for no reason. We've all been there before.

FWIW the chances if rain are higher than 50% today going by the current forecast, and calling meetings off based on West might happen is exactly what they do in Poland which is presumably the speedway benchmark. Although that's often based on torrential rain rather than showers. That said I'm pretty sure today's call off is down to crowd levels and not a waterlogged track. There is a reason that half if Lynn's home meetings are local derbies and I'm sure maximising the attendances for those is a significant part of the business plan.

I can't see anyone getting 40 at Poole this year, as usual they are going to be incredibly strong at home. Which is going to make them very tough to beat over two legs.

They are obviously petrified of dodgy weather putting people off resulting in a small crowd and consequently losing money, that's all it can be as it's only showers forecast. I won't go nowadays if there is rain about so I can kind of understand but more than 24 hours beforehand seems extremely cautious to me, especially in the school holidays.

A bit harsh after the first meeting with the top three making their home debuts against a strong side. Agree about Barker, he's not dirty. Skidder has held some kind of weird grudge for some time, probably since the Ward/Morris/Barker/young lady thing.

I think we can all appreciate how Plymouth fans must feel about Lawson and why but I suspect any negativity he gets tonight will be water off a ducks back. Poole comfortably over two legs but Plymouth could sneak a win tonight.

Gonna be close I think, will be there if the weather behaves but a few showers forecast at the moment. Worrall certainly the key man.

I think Masters has to be at one. It could be argued that Worrall might benefit from the extra responsibilty of riding at five given time, you look at his Championship average and it suggests he could and perhaps should be a Premiership heat leader.

And yet they are still winning at a canter. They are going to be a tough nut to crack at the EoES once again. Early season gremlins for Andersen I'm sure.

Exactly this, Premiership Shield or something similar. We beat Eastbourne over two legs, they had won the League and us the Cup in 2000. Remember Puk having some his first rides over here as a number 8 in the home leg.

With all the doubling up it's essential that the two leagues have completely separate race nights whichever teams come up/down. Think that's even more important than when foreign leagues race.
