King's Lynn v Ipswich 05/07/21
Bagpuss replied to Bald Bloke's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I was under the impression that once a Visa had been gained for the year it couldn't be changed until the next twelve month period? Could well be wrong though. Has also been my assumption that he isn't interested in riding in the Prem as surely somebody would have signed him by now? He's been here a few seasons and must have been approached. -
I like what I've seen of Connor so far, yes he's struggling for points but he gives 100% and gets stuck in, one or two others last night looked like they were going through the motions.

Wrong kind of Visa so rumour has it. -

At least it's a fresh idea, we need those because what we have now isn't working and will eventually shrivel up into almost nothing. -

Unfortunately so, its part of the regulations for the stadium to hold stock cars and bangers due to some poor soul being killed by a stray wheel at Ipswich several years ago. Not ideal but you get used to it. -

Well that's as much passing as I've seen at Lynn for a long time but we really are poor, a three man team and well beaten by the second worst team in the 'league'. Roll on 2022.....or maybe not. -
Out of interest what do you consider to be 'safely run for the vulnerable elderly' and what needs to be done that isn't at the moment which would encourage you to return?

Not everyone gets all the fortune you lot had there. Fair play to Eastbourne for the comeback but I've always thought home tacticals should never be allowed.

Scorpions v Bandits 02.07.2021

I disagree with that, I think the points system worked really well and provided jeopardy and last heat deciders where the away team could 'steal' one the home team's points. Giving the hone team a guaranteed three points for a win was a backward step IMO and the reasoning for it was pretty lame IIRC. -

You can have a guest for any of your top three. -

You are right, we don't have a number one (or a reserve in fairness) but Lawson and Jorgensen have been very good riding in heat leader positions although who ever is at 1 is likely to struggle. It's a poor side bit to say it doesn't have a heat leader is inaccurate, unfair and pretty lazy. -
I guess it all boils down to what he was promised when he signed, and of course how accurate the translation is. You would like to think Plymouth have given him all the help they possibly could and have considered his mental health as much as they could.

Some damning words from Goret on Facebook, although as ever there are no doubt two sides.

Do you actually bother to read scorecards? Lawson and Jorgensen have been excellent all season. -

How long was the delay to wait for the drizzle to stop? Doesn't seem worth making a fuss over if it wasn't long, and I'd agree that the finer the rain the harder it is to see out of a pair of glasses/goggles. -

I'm sure Masters is professional enough if asked about his performance yesterday to say that he is disappointed in himself/should have done better/had an off day he can't explain rather than blame the track. -
My argument would be that it's more likely to be the product that has changed rather than all the people who no longer go because they don't love it any more. It's a shame because when speedway is spot on there is arguably nothing better but it's so rarely like that any more unfortunately.

I've not been this year because Lynn is £20 which is extortionate and there is a requirement to wear a mask at all times which I'm not prepared to do outside. I expect I will go and have a look at Lynn, P'boro or Belle Vue at some point this season but I don't really miss it any more which is sad as I used to be a fanatic. The watershed moment for me was probably Holder/Batchelor-gate in 2017 at Lynn, I've not been regularly since then.
-
I suspect those who attend Belle Vue, P'boro, Scunthorpe, Glasgow and Redcar would take issue with that. For me it's about tracks rather than riders and we have too many that produce follow the leader stuff.
-
What do you expect him to say, 'we're gash and will keep losing so don't bother coming?'
-
Spot on, nobody new is coming right now, it was always going to be a double upper already here. Heeps and Summers looked the two best options.

Good signing and great to see him racing in the top league, not sure there was too much more he could learn in the NL really.
