  1. Ah yes but much easier to blame his previous injury than the craters in the Poole track. Good that at last they are going to try and sort it but one wonders why it has taken so long.
  2. Does this rule still exist in the regulations? I ask because it seems List is being reintroduced at Scunthorpe. Surely the two men at the top won’t be bending the rules to suit their clubs.....
  3. I suspect they would have had to wait until after next Monday’s home meeting to get Cook in had Riss not been injured.
  4. Indeed, there must be more changes on the way once Riss is fit and averages change, no way he isn’t coming back in. With all due respect to Simon he is surely only a temporary signing. Good to see the club doing something about the bad start anyway.
  5. Josh Pickering and Paul Starke are the two who stand out.
  6. I wouldn’t waste your time. Some people can’t (won’t) see the bigger picture.
  7. Not good enough that two meetings between two of the biggest clubs in the UK both have issues with the track surfaces and riders end up injured. The sport does itself no favours at all but some blinkered folk can’t see this and only care about winning or losing. Thank Christ speedway fans from other countries weren’t able to see these meetings today on the internet as we can their meetings. Holes in the tracks, delays, one team in team kevs and the other not.....talk about amateur hour.
  8. What’s the conversion from CL to PL?
  9. Indeed, have never understood the fascination with fast times and track records. It’s not drag racing, rather than grippy, one-line conditions it should be about slicker tracks with several lines and slower race times. Doesn’t matter how slow the racing is as long as there is plenty of passing.
  10. If there was a big crowd I’m sure he won’t have shed any tears. Cher-ching. Predictable result after P’boro’s changes and before ours but pleased to hear the racing was good again.
  11. Why would Riss be replaced if he will be back on a bike before our next meeting? And why bring Simon Lambert in to replace Andersen if there are more points to play with and better riders available?
  12. I think only MPT, Riss and Lambert could justifiably complain about being replaced, the other four have not been good enough often enough. Think we’ll see a couple of changes but three or even four wouldn’t be unwelcome for many people.
  13. About time the authorities removed Poole’s licence until the track is sorted. On a different topic is the updates site infected with something? Keep being redirected to some prize draw / survey website.
  14. Not quite sure what standard of rider people think would be on display if more clubs rode on Saturdays.
  15. No problem with that at all but just wondering how Edinburgh could have a guest for Pickering on Friday and weren’t limited to R/R.
  16. Without the imminent team changes or Riss anything Lynn can get out of this meeting will be a bonus although I recognise Heeps is an upgrade on Kerr. If Andersen can score like he did last time there we might scrape a point but should be comfortable for P’boro really. 52-38
  17. Becker’s performance at Belle Vue in the SoN won’t do his chances any harm either.
  18. Proctor and Andersen out. Kerr about to drop to reserve so would persevere with him and sign a decent partner for him, not Simon Lambert. Other signing a strong number two, the one talked about since Thursday would be good.
  19. Not sure why Erik would need to be replaced, collarbones aren’t normally long term injuries and once we strengthen up in other areas R/R will become a better option.
  20. If we could get Cook and Starke in for Proctor and Andersen we’d have no reason to fear anyone and ought to be title challengers.
  21. Good luck to the British lads. Difficult to see past a Polish winner of the final but you never know.
  22. Depends what you mean by ‘terribly flash’ but I don’t see much wrong with having a professional image and looking as good as you can when on duty. Years ago at school my PE teacher used to say ‘look smart, play smart’ when we represented the school at football, cricket or whatever and I think that’s true. He didn’t do as well as I thought last season but seems to be fulfilling his potential this year and it’s great to see.
  23. The bottom line is that List only beat one opponent for Scunthorpe and they were off 15m.....sometimes needs must for the good of the team and Ayres has done very well. Good that List will be getting his place back but he was dropped because he wasn’t up to the required standard. Hope for his sake he is able to take his chance this time.
