  1. Would come as absolutely no surprise.
  2. I had wondered if he is spreading himself a bit thin this year.....he didn’t make the best of starts to the season in the three main leagues and as well as those he is now doing World U21, SoN, GP’s, GP qualifying and has the Euros to come. That’s an awful lot of travelling around and country hopping and must be very difficult to keep fresh. That said I’m sure he will come good again.
  3. Riss has pulled out of the GP qualifier at Glasgow this evening, obviously not ready to return from injury just yet.
  4. I find it hard to imagine that Kennett will be any worse than Bellego has been. Obviously has a massive issue with the Foxhole track and going forward that would have been a big problem. Time will tell but I reckon this is a punt worth taking.
  5. Looking at Bellego’s average for the season and his home scores he can have little room for complaint. Kennett is worth a go IMO.
  6. To be fair you are right. In mitigation it was a brand new track to all but Covatti last night however I don’t think any rider can drive away last night feeling satisfied with their score. Yes it was only two points shy of a match point but considering Swindon's issues it’s disappointing to leave empty handed. Everyone needs to up their game but we need Riss back to bolster a pretty flakey middle order and a number seven who is competitive away from home.
  7. Nerves in his shoulder. Can barely lift a knife and fork according to his Twitter!
  8. I think it’s perfectly reasonable to suggest that Cook held out til June and realised that just riding for Glasgow isn’t doing him much good, and to then be prepared to take the next offer which came his way. I’d say good luck to both parties, we want as many quality riders in the league as possible. Highly unlikely though due to other commitments, almost certainly one of the reasons he didn’t line up for Lynn this year.
  9. Seeing as you seem to know, tell us all what his guest rates are please.
  10. Could quite easily be that Cook decided he wants more than just Glasgow meetings and backed down ie agreed a deal on the same terms as he would have been on for P’boro. I doubt we’ll ever know. Although I know who my money would be on as to which of the two parties ‘backed down’.
  11. Just one of those situation where neither rider gave an inch and came together at the same split second. No malice or dirtiness for me.
  12. Aces heat leaders going unbeaten apparently
  13. Bizarre thread this I’ve, you’ve got Aces fans in one corner showing almost over confidence and trumpeting that their heat leaders will all stroll to maximums and in the other Witches supporters saying their top of the league team aren’t they good and will get shown up I reckon something like 50-40 and hopefully some great action.
  14. Eight out of twenty is 40% not half. Four of those have dropped down to the Championship to double up/down because one assumes there is reasonable money on offer and their foreign league spots have dried up. Whether that’s good for speedway or not is debatable.
  15. MONDAY PREVIEW Sunday June 02, 2019 PETER Schroeck is confident the new signings will make a good impact on King’s Lynn as they take on Wolverhampton at the Adrian Flux Arena on Monday (7.30). The Poultec Stars unveiled the signing of British duo Craig Cook and Simon Lambert on Tuesday in place of Erik Riss and Kasper Andersen. And it is hoped the Lynn supporters will turn out in good numbers for their first home league fixture. Wolves travel to Norfolk with an injury concern over former British Under-21 Champion Kyle Howarth – who crashed out of the British Semi-Final at Redcar. They will use rider replacement in place of the 25-year-old. Stars’ boss Schroeck said: “Erik is going to be out for about four weeks so, we knew we had to make a change, and I think bringing in a replacement like Craig Cook is exciting! He is looking forward to it, as am I and the rest of the boys so, it should be good. “I hope the fans are excited as it is important that the fans support the team at home. Last year the club had an exceptional season and this time around it is a little bit harder. The fixtures are coming to our advantage now because we have quite a few home matches in the league, and I am sure we can turn it around from there. “We are no different to any other club, you look through the league and most of them aren’t running away with it when on the road. We haven’t really had the chance to show what we can do at home and this is where I am going to judge how our season is going to go. “Wolverhampton have got some riders in there who can cause a threat with Rory Schlein, Jacob Thorssell and Nick Morris which is why I felt we needed to strengthen our side because we have been struggling in heats 13 and 15. “Having Craig is there now means that Thomas Jorgensen and Ty Proctor can just get on with their jobs and I am quietly confident going into Monday.” KING’S LYNN: Robert Lambert, Michael Palm Toft, Ty Proctor, Thomas Jorgensen, Craig Cook, Lewis Kerr, Simon Lambert. WOLVERHAMPTON: Sam Masters, Kyle Howarth R/R, Jacob Thorssell, Nick Morris, Rory Schlein, Ashley Morris, Luke Becker.
  16. Lambert had as much speed as anyone else when in front and looked no worse than anyone other than the winner when behind. Not sure why you are singling him out. Changing lines for most last night resulted in losing ground, and don’t forget he was out after every track grade and watering. Two semis out of two is pretty decent going for him, all he lacks really is the experience and a bit of nous at times round the first two bends. For me parts of the GP series are a bit tired and need freshening up, Krsko and Prague are of little interest due to the racing and there are too many riders knocking around who have been in and out for years but will never win it ie Lindback, Iversen, Kolodziej, Zagar, Sayfutdinov etc and it’s all a bit samey.
  17. I wonder if Riss might replace Kerr. Not my preference, Riss and Starke for Proctor and Lambert would be better.
  18. You’ve been knocking around this forum long enough now to understand how some threads naturally go off in various directions. If you really need to see why I’d suggest reading back through the thread carefully.
  19. He obviously means it’s pitiful to only have seven teams in the league.
