  1. Take the point but to be fair they’ve been riding at reserve in a successful team.
  2. I think that’s the bottom line. Made a slow start and I think it’s been magnified by his schedule. Not getting out of the start like he was last year which will always have a big impact on a speedway rider’s scoring.
  3. Awful. The only saving grace is that there were no league points at stake. And that two of those riders are to be replaced soon. A few of those remaining need to pull their socks up too.
  4. I expect it’s because he is offered a team spot at Lynn on a temporary basis, why would he turn it down? People whinging about him is like putting a pub darts player into the Premier League as the competition is one short against some of the best players in the world and then complaining that pub player isn’t winning matches. Its pretty clear that Simon was signed to get Cook into the team and will then be replaced once the averages change again. If we’d been winning away matches I suspect nobody would be saying much about his away scores but because others haven’t ridden to the standards of last season SLambert gets it in the neck when in reality he is unlikely to beat any other reserves away from Lynn anyway as they are better riders.
  5. At the end of the day Simon does a job for the team, when he is signed it’s to fill a gap vacated by somebody else or in this case to allow the acquisition of another rider. It’s pretty clear he and somebody else will be leaving soon so I don’t understand why people need to let into him particularly after a meeting where he has scored in every ride. Just seems a bit unnecessary to me.
  6. I don’t think there is any problem with Lamberts hunger or desire, he simply is as good as he will ever be and any shortcomings are down to his limitations of ability rather than effort and commitment.
  7. The difference is Nicol is a young lad with improvement in him while Simon is thirty ish and reached his level long ago. He always does a decent job for Lynn as a stopgap but we need to try somebody else who may well be better given the chance.
  8. No away points = no play offs so whoever they bring in at number seven will be worth the risk.
  9. Great memories of Shane as a Knight / Star in 1997-98, 2000 & 2003, in particular that first season when he had some very quick bikes and beat most riders round Lynn. Very best wishes to him for a full and speedy recovery.
  10. Because people want their riders to succeed and would rather not chop and change too much? I feel the same about Kasper at Lynn, desperately wanted him to cut it.
  11. If one big league could be done properly I think that would be great for British speedway, unfortunately I think the financial disparity between the haves and the have not means that there would be enormous gulfs between teams and it would be a very lopsided league. It would need to be done much, much better than 1995 that’s for sure.
  12. You keep coming out with this back of the queue thing but I just don’t think it’s true.....from the word go pretty much everybody predicted Ipswich would finish bottom of the pile and also that Peterborough would join them once Harris and Cook had been removed. Lynn were widely thought to be the strongest of the three in paper albeit also not in the Play Offs. Also Cook has ended up at Lynn rather than one of the other two. I would agree though that spreading his resources three ways has impacted what he could spend on Lynn’s team, although it’s pretty certain there would be no Premiership if he hadn’t.
  13. Similarly Drabik could regret cocking up his semi final after dominating the heats.
  14. In a way I agree with you as the amount of changes Poole for example have made in recent years is ridiculous but for Lynn this year no more changes means no away wins, probably a home defeat or two and no Play Offs. I’m sure the vast majority of us would prefer to see us at least have a go at getting fourth.
  15. Pretty close and open after round one. What a pity Robert fell in his fourth ride while second.
  16. I think I described his signing as awful eighteen months ago but to be fair he had a good season last year but has been pretty woeful this time round.
  17. Indeed. Nine race wins but twelve lasts.
  18. So another away defeat last night and no point despite only needing a shared heat 15. With only away trips to Belle Vue, Swindon, Wolves and Poole x 2 left it looks highly unlikely that an away win will be achieved this season. Even winning the rest of our home meetings probably wouldn’t be enough to finish top four. Unfortunately I feel that the club has taken far too long to replace Proctor and while Cook was a good signing the injury to Riss came at an awful time and unfortunately Lewis has taken several matches to get going after dropping to reserve. All a bit of a mess really. Get Riss and a proper number seven in and maybe they’ll prove me wrong but it doesn’t look good and the season could effectively be over before the kids break up for the summer.
  19. You kind of get the feeling that by the time we get our preferred 1-7 in place it’ll be too late in the season to achieve anything. Proctor and Slambert have to be gone for the next meeting.
  20. Maybe some of you lot shouldn’t make it so easy for him then and reign in your pre match bleating.
