  1. Nope, he’s saying Lynn is overprepared to start with on race night, I’ve commented on this before about riders hanging on to the bike and getting strung out because the track is too grippy and hard to ride. He’s saying people can race properly once it’s slickened off a bit. So from a punter’s point of view surely it would be better to start off a bit slicker.
  2. I think the first lay downs were used by Hans Nielsen and Mark Loram in the World Semi Final at Bradford in 1994, seem to remember it not being until 1996 that they were permitted in the UK though.
  3. Interesting that Craig Cook had his say on BBC Radio Norfolk yesterday in an interview recorded on Thursday evening, he said that the track is over prepared early on and you can’t race until it slickens off towards the end of the meeting. Makes you wonder if a rider coming out and saying something might do any good. Probably not but you never know.
  4. I think Trees’ opinions probably could be more balanced just like yours but both you and Haza have laughed at her in this thread as well as accusing her of cosying up to the promotion and getting in for free. As I said she deserves more respect, especially as you two don’t go anymore (completely understand why) and she works hard for the supporters club etc .
  5. That’s all great but don’t take it out on somebody who enjoys going. If you are criticising her for only being positive when you are exactly the same in only ever being negative. I assume when you refer to only two positives you mean in promoting terms as you don’t mention the fact that we have arguably the best speedway track in the world in this country.
  6. I’m sure Trees can fight her own battles but there needs to be a little bit more respect for her views. Nothing wrong with a it of positivity on quite a dark thread, provides a little bit of balance. Ridiculing her just isn’t on though just because others see things differently.
  7. Typically mature response from Mr Skidder.
  8. Surely people aren’t judging Aarnio on injuries? If he had ridden every meeting since being signed and carded lots of lasts then fair enough but he can’t be criticised if he’s not actually on track? In any event Berge should be doing much, much better than that.
  9. As you well know I said if he gates, as few (no?) Lynn riders would have passed him. He obviously didn’t so no points. It’s stock cars that count and not speedway, not sure the race times are of any relevance. Cars completely dictate the surface nowadays.
  10. People moan because they care, it’s possible to still love the sport and your club without being willing / able to go any more. £18 is an awful lot of money for two or three races out of fifteen, especially if it involves a long drive or rushing around after work. And it’s perfectly possible to know what a meeting was like without being there, plenty of ways to know how good or bad it was. As SL says the ‘use it or lose it’ line can only really be used if the person running the show is doing absolutely everything in their power to make the product attractive and customers feel valued.
  11. If Simon gates well tonight he’ll get a hatful and beat most of the Lynn riders.
  12. If the will was there Buster could get hold of whatever shale Belle Vue use and lay that for speedway and the clay crap for stock cars, I’m sure it’s much closer to a day than an hour to achieve but it could be done. He could also eat into as much of the concrete centre as he wanted to make the track a rounder and wider one making Lynn one of the best speedway tracks in the world. If the will was there.
  13. Don’t agree about Team GB or whatever you want to call it, he has shown passion for the project by wanting it to be the best it can be and and removing himself from it when measures weren’t in place to ensure that. Don’t always agree with his actions or comments but I don’t think his passion can be questioned. Agree that he should come over and do the British Final, pretty poor that he doesn’t. But don't blame him for not doing the British League, our top division is a shambles compared to Poland & Sweden and the World titles he has won vindicates his twice a week schedule. Yes he has an ego but he is passionate about GB winning things.
  14. Panthers have a couple of decent guests booked there, can see them running Wolves close with plenty of Monmore knowledge in the side.
  15. As Phil says Cook was unable to ride the inside properly due to his wrist injury.
  16. Don’t know if this is a new rule, saw the same thing in heat one of the U21 meeting at Belle Vue last Friday when Lambert touched the tapes but it was an A4B due to the Pole moving first.
  17. Possibly but he has time and potential on his side so would have learned from the experience while being no worse than Bomber.
  18. The only problem I see with Rosco is that he and Tai don’t get on and that nothing new, it’s been the case for several seasons. Assuming they can still work together after this weekend I don’t personally see the point in changing the TM.
  19. Totally agree. Our best three riders have all ended up being injured after two laps of our first heat, yes Bewley should have been out there rather than Bomber if he was fit but other than that and possibly needing a new TM an awful lot of the criticism has been way OTT. We came second last year with our best three riders and might have done well with them this year so let’s calm down a little and just accept it’s not been our year. No reason why Woffy, Robert and Bewley can’t give it a good go next year if the format is the same.
  20. Awful track, awful crash for GB, too many tapes/starting offences, hardly any team riding, terrible ref. Bomber way off the pace, should be Bewley out there. What has happened to the once wonderful sport of speedway? Truly dreadful to watch.
  21. I can remember very similar arguments ten years ago when Ron Lyon picked a young team including Bridger, Kennett and a very raw Tai as a long term plan. Difference was we were a bit more competitive then with Nicholls, Harris and Rico a match for anybody on their day. This year however we won’t win it with no Tai, it would be the greatest upset in history if we did. So why not use Bewley and give him some priceless experience. Not convinced his scoring would be much different to Bombers anyway.
