I personally quite like running both meetings together and at the end of the day if live telly demands it then it’s what will happen. Much better to have something to watch on the big screen than large gaps after each race with nothing going on.

Not quite sure why the usual Poole guff has polluted this thread but I’d have thought that as a general point if a team (any team) were able to replace a rider who had a ‘season ending injury’ with another after a deadline and that rider rode elsewhere despite being ‘injured’ then the replacements points should be declared null and void and the team made to use a three point replacement if the original rider didn’t return to action despite riding abroad. Common sense surely?

I think ‘attacked’ is a bit strong.

As a I’ve said before I think he got involved for the right reasons but ended up making things worse, I’m all for passion and defending your own riders but he went OTT. Haven’t read the article but I’d have thought he’d have been better off reiterating his apology and playing the whole thing down personally, perhaps there was other stuff going on behind the scenes on the night which we don’t know about which wound him up but he should have acted differently and been a bit calmer about it all. Notice I haven’t told you to go and find yourself a Poole thread starman

I think considering the team they started the season with and how much stronger it was than all the others then getting to the final is the very minimum expectation for Poole fans and the speedway community in general. On the other hand Lynn were predicted to finish bottom so should feel under no pressure. Anything now is a bonus.

Considering our last two results away st Poole and Somerset I’m surprised at our odds. However I don’t expect anything the bookies say to affect our riders, but being in the final if we get there might. Not many of our riders have been there before.

Lynn have recently been seen as very (too) loyal to riders, it’s more than likely that Kerr, Rose and Andersen would all be in the team now if they hadn’t picked up injuries and forced the promotion’s hand. No doubt we are stronger with their replacements and in a perverse way Lynn’s hand being forced has probably resulted in topping the table.

If a team has access to their track to practice then good luck to them, don’t see the issue.

I don’t think the management are poor, but they do seem to rub fans of other teams up the wrong way. I’m sure it’s little more than water off a ducks back to them.

Assuming we go through I don’t think there will be a clear favourite whoever we face.

Agree with fb, only takes one rider to have a crash and all of a sudden you are down to five men and right up against it with a huge strain on man and machine. Assuming Somerset finish the meeting with all six starters I can still see this going to the wire.

I’d always rather go into a meeting with seven riders rather than six, especially one in the Play Offs.

Looking forward to watching this on the telly, could go either way. Wouldn’t be surprised if it goes down to the thirtieth heat.

If Etheridge was worried for his safety in heat 14 I suggest he takes up bowls or snooker and stops racing motorcycles.

To be fair a Wolves fan warned us earlier in the thread that one or two of these types would show up last night. No doubt he intentionally positioned himself next to the away supporters!
