  1. I didn’t think it was rubbish and riders were certainly much less spaced out than at Lynn, but there was very little actual racing and nearly every heat was decided after half a lap. The interest was provided by the aggregate score. He same thing probably contributed to the Lynn match being awful.
  2. Wrong meeting, that one was on 18th August Saturday was the Bordernapolis individual, he missed his last ride after pulling up after his fourth outing apparently. I think crescent girl commented on it on this thread.
  3. Berwick on Saturday as somebody has already mentioned earlier in the thread.
  4. It wasn’t brilliant other than the last lap of the last race, pretty ordinary all night up to then.
  5. Stock car friendly dirt which is totally unsuitable for bikes. Stock cars are the cash cow at the stadium so don’t see it changing any time soon unfortunately. A track can look a million dollars but if home riders can only pass when an away rider makes a mistake it’s not good. Needs to be much slicker next year, the track is a great shape for racing but the surface prevents it.
  6. The track won’t be changed now as we have a great chance to win the title but next year something has to alter as the racing is far worse than the circuit is capable of producing. If it has to be the stock car friendly shale then let’s have less of it, slicker conditions usually means better racing with the dirt Buster uses.
  7. Correction, it was 2011 we reached the Play Off semis, not 2012.
  8. You may be thinking of the league title going to the very last meeting at Eastbourne in 2000 which we lost. We lost in the EL Play Off semis to Poole in 2012 & 2014 and won the second division Play Offs in 2006 & 2009.
  9. Not the final Lynn wanted as we are pretty awful at Wimborne Road. Depends on the guest for Kurtz but can see Poole heading to Norfolk with a healthy lead. I see this as being very open, don’t think there is a favourite or an underdog really.
  10. Awful racing but job done. Three riders need to raise their game for next week otherwise we’ll be easy pickings. If everyone contributes we have a great chance.
  11. Don’t think this will be as easy as some think but you look at the two line ups and you imagine it is going to take something extraordinary for Lynn to not go through. I expect Belle Vue to come out fighting though and give it a good go tonight.
  12. I personally quite like running both meetings together and at the end of the day if live telly demands it then it’s what will happen. Much better to have something to watch on the big screen than large gaps after each race with nothing going on.
  13. In Swindon’s three matches at the NSS this year Bellego has outscored Museli 26-15.
  14. Not quite sure why the usual Poole guff has polluted this thread but I’d have thought that as a general point if a team (any team) were able to replace a rider who had a ‘season ending injury’ with another after a deadline and that rider rode elsewhere despite being ‘injured’ then the replacements points should be declared null and void and the team made to use a three point replacement if the original rider didn’t return to action despite riding abroad. Common sense surely?
  15. The difference is nearly every Swindon fan on here has carpeted their own team and promotion rather than thinking the sun shines out of their collective arses.
  16. You are far too sensible and measured for this forum. Go outside and have a word with yourself
  17. We’ll agree to disagree but at least yourself and Phil are making your point without name calling or making derogatory remarks about Dale Allitt so fair play.
  18. As a I’ve said before I think he got involved for the right reasons but ended up making things worse, I’m all for passion and defending your own riders but he went OTT. Haven’t read the article but I’d have thought he’d have been better off reiterating his apology and playing the whole thing down personally, perhaps there was other stuff going on behind the scenes on the night which we don’t know about which wound him up but he should have acted differently and been a bit calmer about it all. Notice I haven’t told you to go and find yourself a Poole thread starman
  19. I think considering the team they started the season with and how much stronger it was than all the others then getting to the final is the very minimum expectation for Poole fans and the speedway community in general. On the other hand Lynn were predicted to finish bottom so should feel under no pressure. Anything now is a bonus.
