  1. Have a look at Belle Vue on Google Maps starman and compare it to Swindon and Berwick and almost any other big track apart from Peterborough, it's much rounder and has bends which are far longer and more sweeping. It really doesn't need shortening.
  2. But surely you put an opinion on a public forum knowing that somebody at some point will probably challenge it? Especially when it goes against the grain so much. If you can't be bothered with the hassle surely you wouldn't give that opinion in the first place
  3. Indeed, Belle Vue is almost the perfect shape and size for a speedway track and provides proper fast speedway racing like nowhere else in the UK.
  4. As per usual Mr Mungo, that post is a thing of beauty.
  5. It looks like a team full of potential and risks, could struggle in the lower reaches or be dark horses for honours.
  6. Exactly, Buster and co have made a dog's breakfast of the job but they are the latest in a long line of chairmen and committees to do the same.
  7. There's not an awful lot in there to be disagreed with really, one or two little things but he makes many good points. The top three look way ahead if the rest but after that it's fairly tight.
  8. Not sure Ryan is ready for the Championship yet but would be good to see him get a chance to impress.
  9. Presumably the line from Harkess that the loss of the main sponsor might lead to a rethink on the final rider hasn't proved to be the case?
  10. I'd have thought Polish tracks would generate slightly higher speeds because they generally have longer straights.....while tracks like Sheffield, P'boro & Belle Vue are flat out they all have a lot of bend compared to many in Poland. Straight line speed is what will generate the higher mph's.
  11. But always a strong reserve, something most people seem to ignore. Could even be two if Andersen comes off. That said we do look 8th strongest, although I don't think there is too much in it 4th - 8th.
  12. While I see Sheffield as a top half side they don't strike me on paper as being in the top two or three, not sure what people are seeing that I'm not with all due respect.
  13. I'd like to think this team will hold its own at home at least. So as long as the racing is decent and things are over and done with in a reasonable time there shouldn't be too many complaints.
  14. Thats exactly what I am saying Sid, words mean very little. It's all about the quality of the night out starting on April 4th. I'm sure the club are under no illusions that they have to pull their socks up but whatever they come out and say before then is irrelevant if the racing and VFM isn't good. Silimarly the disgruntled punters now need to give them the opportunity to get it right.
  15. Wait and see is the key phrase. Whatever anyone says on either side of the fence ie club or supporters means very little, it's what actually happens on the first few race nights that really counts. Hopefully everybody will be able to put 2017 behind them and move forward.
  16. To me all these ingredients are important; good racing, a competitive team if not one who always wins and the feeling of being valued as a customer. I didn't personally see last year's actions as 'throwing in the towel', but more taking a stand against a couple of disruptive team members who weren't interested in giving 100% an replacing them with much weaker riders but with some who did give maximum effort. The promotion were partly to blame for the whole mess so although there were apologies and statements I think more could have been done to admit that mistakes had been made. I think this probably went a fair way to getting Brundle on board. Hopefully we will get a rallying call before April to appease people and reassure them that their concerns are being fully considered.
  17. Thomas Jorgensen, Josh Bailey and Taylor Hampshire were in the photos too.
  18. Could only be that three riders attended the training as the fourth person is unidentified. Alternatively it might not be sensible to take one photo as definitive proof of who was there and who wasn't......... As for the press releases, I understood it as being a piece of news every Friday rather than a huge announcement but could be wrong. Pleased to hear that Bunce got a swift reply and that the service is being resurrected.
  19. First fitness session completed http://www.kingslynnstars.co/_mobile/news.php?extend.30574
  20. To me it's pretty simple, balance means that when good things happen people praise the club and when bad things occur they get criticised. Trouble is the same criticisms have been raked up on dozens of occasions over the winter whereas the last two Friday announcements have hardly been mentioned, that is an imbalance. The comments about poor racing, late starting and finishing, too much grading etc are all perfectly valid but if anybody from the club was going to read them they would have done by now. With a new promoter on board the next step is to see what the first two or three meetings bring in terms of VFM (and there is extra pressure on the club with a £1 increase) and if it's not good then fair enough, get stuck in as it will be deserved criticism. February and March is the time when excitement is meant to rise and people are looking forward to the first meeting and seeing new (and old) faces representing the club, would be nice to see a bit of this while being mindful that there is plenty of work to do for the club to get people back on board and feeling satisfied again. That is balance.
  21. I can see the sense behind the rule but to implement it in such a way that it excludes two Brits from extra racing in the UK that they need and to deprive second division fans from seeing them was awful decision making. Anyway hopefully we'll get an update soon so that the poor little obsessed jenga can get a sound nights sleep and not have to worry any more.
  22. The figure in the Star must be an error. I can't see any reason why he would be a five rather than a four.
  23. I think I preferred the negative Brian to the sarcastic one.......
