  1. I think the kids free idea is a great one but unfortunately the trade off is to stick an extra quid on an adult price, it's going to split opinion of course and you can't please all of the people all of the time. You just hope it will lead to more under 16's going which is the whole point. Even if it leads to a few people not going who probably weren't going to anyway.....
  2. I don't think there's any doubt that we look one of the weaker sides on paper, but it's far from doom and gloom. We have as good a number one as anyone (apart from perhaps Somerset!) and a strong reserve as well as two promising teenagers. One of the other three needs to step up to third heat leader for us to have a good season and if they can't then we must not delay in bringing somebody in who can. Being widely predicted to finish 8th means there's only one way to go and that's up, the aim has to be top four. This team ought to be strong at home and needs to hit the ground running to that end, sure there will be some away beatings but hopefully there will be some good showings too. The pressure is off and we need to use that to our advantage. There is always a fancied team who struggles and an unfancied one that flourishes, hopefully that will be us. Not particularly impressed with the price increase but like the fact that kids are free.
  3. You might want to start listening in different places.
  4. To quote Kevin Keegan 'I would love it' if that happened
  5. Who could be signed instead of Bacon to take you up to the limit?
  6. Along with the Olympics the World Cup is THE greatest sports tournament. An awful lot of people who go to speedway also like football and I think speedway fixtures need to be carefully planned while the tournament is on to avoid poor crowds. Of course it depends on the game on telly that particular evening......England v Brazil will have a different affect to Iran v Costa Rica for example!
  7. As it should be. Friday isn't a Premiership race day.
  8. World Cup in June? One presumes there will be some kind of challenge / warm up meeting before the Leicester fixtures, perhaps that will be on Good Friday.
  9. I'd be getting my hearing tested if I were you
  10. I'd have had Worrall on 6.55, but certainly not on 7.26.
  11. Source? Poole fans on their thread seem quite confident that the rule has been dropped.
  12. In theory, but in reality not everyone could afford them.
  13. 'They have very little to even challenge Glasgow or Lakeside'. What does that even mean?
  14. I don't think he is better than them in the Premiership personally, maybe the Championship due to his extra experience of those tracks. Yes they are both club assets and local lads, products of the Young Stars in fact. I don't think it's a particularly awkward figure to accommodate, plenty of teams could have fitted him in if they wished.
  15. He's not in the top five because he is on a four point average. Nobody knows if he will be any good but he is at an age where he is likely to improve and somebody must have seen some potential in him to sign him. Not going to get into the Auty debate again as we'll never agree. But I'd suggest that the fact that nobody has signed him on a 4.68 probably says it all.
  16. You have to be honest and say what you see though, whoever you support. On paper we look one of if not the weakest side, but that could all change once the action starts. I don't feel miserable about it, if anything it takes the pressure off the team and will make good results during the season sweeter. How we feel as Lynn fans through the season will be determined by on track results and not pre season predictions.
  17. If you think Somerset look better than Belle Vue or Leicester you are extremely biased!
  18. Certainly take your point and in hindsight I'd agree with you but I'd imagine very few people foresaw how good Musielak was going to be last year for Swindon. Of course your two Poles may not live up to expectations but their achievements abroad suggest they will make a mockery of their starting averages. The point is they are far better riders than when they last rode here. And to quote you lot anyone could have signed Musielak
  19. Why would his heart not be in it? Has always given his all in the UK. The potential weaknesses in the Lynn team are elsewhere, Puk will be fine assuming he has recovered from injury properly. Looking at the other heat leaders around the league he should rack up plenty of points.
  20. Iversen not a big hitter? Poole Belle Vue Leicester Swindon Somerset Wolves Rye House King's Lynn That's not me being negative, just judging what I see on paper. Hopefully it will be way out ie Lynn surprise us all and Poole implode
  21. Take your point and don't necessarily disagree but the reason Poole are head and shoulders above the rest is the failure to reassess riders accurately. Things would be much more even had that been done.
  22. Silly to suggest that any team 'aims to come bottom' but the team is obviously built to a tight budget. Would rather be a big fish in a little pond than the other way round but it is what it is and we'll see how things go. Nobody fancied Swindon this time last year, and I'm not for a minute suggesting this team will win the title, but it could do better than many think if a couple of riders have a breakthrough season. I also accept that most people will think this is the eighth best team in the league, up to the club to prove them wrong.
