  1. I think we were looking at it from different angles, I can see your point and it wouldn't be great if Morris is out of a job. But as far as employing Zagar, Kildemand or Woffinden instead I'd say good luck to Swindon or anyone else if they can afford them instead as the eight point rule is a poor one. Hardly madness when we all want to see better riders over here.
  2. Why would it be total madness please?
  3. If 'average' is, say, a six point average then he will have put on nearly a point and a half on his starting figure. I'd take that.
  4. Surely you can see the appeal of signing him on a sub five point average and starting him at number seven? If he was over five and had to start in the main team I'd agree with you but as the lowest average rider he must be worth consideration.
  5. Calling them the money men confirms your bitterness. Therefore resenting the work of the people who are doing the sport good with the way they have taken their club by the scruff of the neck and are promoting it properly.
  6. So going with that...... Lambert 7.38 Jorgensen 5.93 Toft 5.57 Rose 5.25 Kerr 5.06 which leaves 13.21 for the other two. Others who may be in the frame are Porsing 4.73 Auty 4.68 Jonasson 4.64 Anyone know Puk's average?
  7. Unless one of these posters is actually the Rye promoter who voted then I'd suggest they can name whoever they like in their ideas for a team without the need for permission or not from you. While I disagree with the rule too and therefore have sympathy with Swindon fans a few posts have come across as being written by spoilt children who can't get there own way.
  8. Id have him at Lynn, brilliant there. Maybe the responsibility of being a number one could move his career to the next level.
  9. Thorsell is bloody good at Lynn......
  10. While this thread title and sentiment is a little OTT, and I'm no fan of top heavy teams or imbalanced leagues (especially with only eight teams competing) I would have preferred there to be no eight pointer restrictions. Doesn't allow the league to prosper. That said the main point of fixed racenights for me is to avoid second division fixtures. Any big names we do / would have attracted is a bonus.
  11. Above all he wants a winning team though and whether this rule was his idea or not it makes it more likely Poole will be one of the best sides in 2018.
  12. Just to clarify, is it just one tac sub permitted for next season?
  13. Cook will have flaws at this level at least initially and I don't expect him to trouble the top eight, BUT he can gate which is absolutely vital. Certainly don't think he will be cannon fodder. If he can get some good kit under him he will be a nuisance and a spoiler at least. May even surprise us all and finish somewhere around midway in the series.
  14. You are talking eight years ago, I'd suggest the club is a very different animal now. Anyway seems there will he no extra clubs in the top flight which is a great shame.
  15. Stop being a wally and let people post where they like.
  16. Disappointing the number of top flight teams hasn't increased.
  17. Bit silly to judge him on one race while ignoring all the ones he did well in. Goes without saying that I hope he is nowhere other than Lynn. I don't go to many matches any more and may well stop going to Lynn completely if he is elsewhere.
  18. Why do we get this impatient nonsense every year? Find something interesting to do for the weekend and Monday morning will arrive much quicker.
  19. Yep not entirely displeased with that. Hopefully he'll come back in the future a more rounded competitor. One of those frustrating riders who could win a race against good opposition by quarter of a lap and then come last in his next heat against a poor line up.
  20. Great stats spinny. And the whole point is that Auty won't ever catch Howarth, he long since peaked and is on his way down whereas Howarth is still improving. They aren't even in the same bracket.
  21. Thank goodness your negative thoughts about him are very much in a minority as far as King's Lynn fans are concerned. Most people realise he is still very young and has plenty of time to reach his full potential whatever that may be. The idea that he should be in the world's top twenty at 19 years old is laughable, riders like Darcy Ward come along very rarely and every promising young rider shouldn't be judged against what he achieved. It's time people concentrated on what Lambert has achieved and can do rather than the negative stuff.
  22. Lambert has already said that he won't be riding in the Championship and has signed contracts in Sweden and Poland. As for loaning him out, can see what you are saying but it would lose hundreds off the gate and there is no guarantee he would come back if he got on well wherever he went instead. So it's a bad idea on many levels. He has always said that riding for a track 45 minutes down the road works well for him and lets hope that continues. As for Auty, to me if you sign somebody on four and a half points you want them to have improvement in them and Auty just doesn't. I'm sure there will be many better options.
  23. Fixed race nights are years overdue, complete no brainer to keep away from championship fixtures and therefore eliminate doubling up clashes.
  24. Assuming they have similar levels of ability why on earth would Lambert be anywhere near Morris when the latter has three more years experience? If Lambert now is performing to a similar level to Morris in 2014 then I'd suggest there is little to worry about. Wish people would leave Lambert alone and just let him develop.
  25. Nick Morris has started to develop into a very, very good rider. I'm not going to sit here and say that Lambert will turn out to be as good or better than Morris but it's worth bearing in mind that he has three extra years experience and development on Lambert.
