Poole V Wolves SGB PREM A. 4th April 2018
Bagpuss replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
BBC has light rain for twelve hours and then a dry Wednesday afternoon. Also light rain most of Tuesday and general rain all day tomorrow. That's an awful lot of water for a speedway track to take. -

Can't see Thorsell or the two Wolves reserves scoring many points so should be a very comfortable home win. As brum has said it's highly unlikely anybody will be able to get near Poole on their own track over fifteen heats this year. -
I think it speaks volumes that Auty is on an average just over four and a half yet wasn't picked up by anybody in the Premiership. He is just far too inconsistent for me especially out of the gate although I agree that he would have scored well at Belle Vue.....trouble is there are seven other tracks in the league. Starke the better option for me and as somebody has already said he achieved his average in a top five rather than from reserve.
-
Clubs should perhaps be more honest when asked about weather conditions at the track or the likelihood that meetings will go ahead but to a large extent they are damned if they do and damned if they don't with early call offs. I would also argue that if you travel to a meeting as a supporter when the forecast is poor you can't moan too much if you get there and its off. As for Bomber he has a week old child at home so he deserves to be cut a bit of slack for being frustrated. It's a shame people feel the need to put the boot in so quickly on sportsmen or any public figures nowadays.

Leicester Lions v Tru Plant Stars - Easter Monday - OFF
Bagpuss replied to Trees's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
If the forecast doesn't alter Trees I wouldn't even bother setting off. Looks awful. Forecast poor for the second leg next Wednesday too. -
It's hardly 'sacking' anyway when riders sign contracts for a season at a time.
-
Thing is Trees the 'good old days' are long gone and image & appearance is very important now, especially for a struggling sport like ours. Racesuits should be compulsory for our top two leagues IMO, and there is no reason why good racing can't be a priority regardless of this.

Milking the holiday crowd? -
People aren't daft, they know why the happenings of winter 2010/11 occurred. Ford was made to look very silly on national TV in the Grand Final and by fair means or foul wasn't going to let it happen again. The guy is like a mafia boss, he runs everything from the shadows.
-
You wonder if Drodz will reappear, his Polish club can't be happy that he got injured in his second UK meeting.
-
If he had the chance of one and declined it then yes he should.
-
Just seen on Facebook Trees that you guys have been to the QE2 hospital with both Lewis' and Kasper giving away Easter eggs in the children's ward, fantastic stuff and well done to all involved.

Team kevlars look good, pleased to see the blue return.

Rory farted and the two kneeling are the first to smell it.....
-
Exactly, he is part of a squad. He will ride when available. I'm all for giving the club and its riders a kicking if they deserve it on the back of something that's actually happened, but moaning like some have on here today is embarrassing.
-
Well that's another positive quickly and efficiently turned into a negative. Great work everybody!

Ipswich V Lakeside Good Friday 2.15pm
Bagpuss replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Nobody can say that for certain, even the professionals struggle to get it right from day to day let alone week to week. Everything could settle down next week and be dry for a month or we could have to wait until May for some settled weather. It's a complete lottery. -
Indeed. Personally I have little interest in foreign leagues but the fact that he will be racing in four countries next year can only be a good thing for him and his development.
-
Absolutely, couldn't agree more but it was a general point.....don't bring a rule in without trialling it in some form first. As other sports do. It's asking for trouble if not, and risks making the decision makers look silly.
-
Why don't they trial these things before rushing them through? Glad the rule has gone as it was daft but as Trees says it's embarrassing to have to do a U turn.

I think that's a result which fans from both sides will be reasonably happy with. -

I'm sure Sundstrom will have been there many times in his PL days with Rye.
