Scunthorpe Scorpions V Workington Comets 29/3/24

This should be a comfy home win but will be really interesting to see how the Comets newbies go. -
Spare bog roll too

Poole Pirates Vs Oxford Cheetahs BSN Good Friday
Bagpuss replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Oxford are going to be up there this year, I fancy them to run Poole very close at the least in this one. -
I see that Plymouth had snow that settled last night! They really have had some incredible weather, I really don't think the early call offs are anything other than genuine. As for the Covatti facility, I have mixed feelings but I think its common sense to grant some kind of facility. I'd always prefer R/R over borrowing other team's riders but it is what it is and the league needs all its teams to be competitive.

King’s Lynn vs Leicester - Thursday 28th March

Plus its very early days, I always think it takes a few meetings for men and machines to get into a rhythm. In an ideal world we would spar like Poland do so that everyone is in the full swing of things when league matches begin.

I'm never a fan of putting a number 2 in heat 15, it always feels like too long since they last rode.

Poole Pirates Vs Oxford Cheetahs BSN Good Friday

Which is absolutely fine as long as we don't hear promoters moaning during the season that not enough folk are coming through the turnstiles. -

Leicester vs King’s Lynn - Thursday 21st March

I'd suggest Lynn had the roughest end of the pineapple in terms of the MPT/stating pole incident and Kemp clearly touching the tapes but Leicester probably just about deserved to win, there were clearly several rusty riders on show and I'm satisfied enough with a five point deficit. -

I think that's the case for new signings. -

Have they? I assume you are talking about Nicholls for Pawlicki and as far as I'm aware he's a temporary signing.

Best wishes to the Doyle family.

Was going to say I don't know where they are if they're absent seeing as they were at Lynn last night and Leicester tomorrow. The four named all absent from the official site video though, perhaps stuck in traffic?

Leicester vs King’s Lynn - Thursday 21st March

I suspect its not just his decision and the riders will have been spoken to about it and a joint decision made. It surprised me a little but I don't think it's a massive issue really, and MPT is a much better rider than his average anyway IMO. -
As a one off price I thought it was a bit steep and as a result didn't purchase it, would have done at ten-twelve quid probably. Would be interesting to see what the viewing figures are. As has been said VFM differs from person to person and I expect BSN's costs have increased, like everything else people have a choice to purchase a product or not and its as simple as that really.

I presume you are talking about social media / elsewhere as I haven't seen anybody getting carried away on here. It was just nice to see Brum being competitive and not getting thrashed as that won't do them or the league any good. Nearly everybody thinks they'll be 7th and I don't think the other night changes that too much

It's great we can have this debate, you can make a strong argument for Glasgow, Scunny and Belle Vue as well as Redcar and Worky in terms of the best track in Britain, we have some great speedway tracks here as well as some ordinary ones and some that could and should be better than they are. It's Belle Vue for me personally but the others mentioned are all extremely good and very close behind.

Leicester v Belle Vue Thursday 14th March
Bagpuss replied to Aries's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I mean I wouldn't want to be making the decision as you're never going to please everybody but I'd have thought there are far more variables than just similar forecasts......type of surface, drainage, water table, how much rain there had previously been etc etc. If Oxford was King's Lynn I personally wouldn't have taken the chance last night and would have been happier with an early call off like Leicester but each to their own. -

In which case they deserve credit for getting the call right and saving everybody loads of time, effort and money I'd have thought?
