  1. Maybe there needs to be something in between the NL and the MDL etc for clubs like Lynn and Buxton. Teams like Cradley, Brum and Eastie are almost too big for the NL in its current form but not big enough for the Championship, perhaps the third tier needs to be for these bigger clubs and a fourth tier created for the smaller ones with a few more senior clubs running junior sides like Belle Vue and Lynn have been.
  2. I think it was either 85 or 86 when Lynn went through the whole season without winning a single home meeting and only won one away. Vaguely remember them spending big on Mark Courtney and Paul Woods for that season and both being crap.
  3. I'd say Niklas has been a little disappointing so far but there is a good rider in there somewhere and a spell at reserve might kick start his season.
  4. It's all about bagging the points at this stage, absolutely no sense in peaking until September.
  5. The only average that matters is the one in October which has been earned over a whole season.
  6. The only one under that figure who would have been a better bet is Matt Williamson, and I assume as a Belle Vue asset he would have been ringfenced anyway. Looking at his Worky scores so far he may have been a decent shout at number seven.
  7. I think the difference is that Rose has potential improvement left in him whereas Lindgren peaked a long time ago.
  8. If only they had been so sharp in replacing Hughes. This team is crying out for two heatleaders, would be interested to know why Clegg has ended up at Buxton and not Lynn.
  9. Previews for Wednesday night meetings really should be being released on a Monday morning.
  10. Was last night Bellego's and Gappmaier's Monmore debuts? If so then I'd say that paid ten between them probably exceeds expectations slightly, especially if it was grippy.
  11. To be fair Schlein and Thorsell both had paid ten and the Freddie / Masters combo had been 5-1'd in heat thirteen. Agree with earlier comments though, the three home points regardless of the winning margin thing is a shocker of a rule, they should have left it how it was ie the home team loses a point if the away team gains one.
  12. Looks like a comfy home win but Swindon have surprised us more than once already so would be daft to write them off completely.
  13. I'd love it if somebody could come on here and put a valid argument forward as to how and why that result is good for third tier speedway. And if the earlier comment about Clegg not being able to ride to day is correct (I assume there is a good chance that it isn't) then words absolutely fail me.
  14. Or maybe the Aussies could just get over themselves and do their jobs regardless?
  15. Hence why I said away meetings, apart from Wolves he could miss several.
  16. Commiserations to Adam but well done Robert, great performance in the toughest looking semi. Think he will do very well to finish above all of the heavily sponsored Poles in the final but he'll give it a good go I'm sure.
  17. He may well do but if he misses key away meetings because he is riding for Redcar it's a bit pointless.
  18. Bjerre is in the right environment for him to flourish, it was Lynn back in 2011 when he was sublime but I don't think it would suit him now. Everything is suiting him right now, fair at to him and Belle Vue for the signing.
  19. That's a very fair point which I overlooked. Wider fact is though that Perks is one of, if not the best number seven around and they can't replace his scoring with guests.
  20. It's amazing how many people feel the need to make their minds up definitively without knowing anywhere near the full facts.
  21. Not really in anyone's interests for Newcastle to turn up without two of the league's top stars. More rank fixture planning.
  22. Delighted to be proved wrong. Have said all along that the team was built around Holder and the senior reserve scoring well and that is starting to bear fruit. Would have been nice to take all four points but three will do very nicely. There is lots more to come from this team and one we get a scoring number seven the sky could be the limit.
