Stoke V King's Lynn (mdl) - 6th September 2014
Bagpuss replied to Mimmo's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
I don't understand why MDL teams use riders who have already ridden in the NL match beforehand, they rarely take all of their MDL rides through tiredness / machinery fatigue. Makes a mockery of the MDL match tbh -
The Future Of The Elite League
Bagpuss replied to SarahLapworth's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
All it says is that there are a lot of injuries at the moment? Apart from Pawlicki who was taking the Michael out of Wolves the other nine absent riders are not fit. That said you are right, there are far too many guests in the EL this year through riders competing elsewhere. -
Most Bizarre Exclusions......
Bagpuss replied to Sings4Speedway's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I think it was bend four of lap one in heat 15.....4-2 to Ippo to secure the draw although we won 50-40 in the return that evening -
Would be nice to see a meeting on Sky from the SBA, seems to be one of the better racetracks around.

Somerset Rebels Vs Berwick 05/09
Bagpuss replied to drew2's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
That's part of speedway for me HT, makes away wins all the more sweet when they come along. Little things like grippy starts, the outside or inside of corners being ripped up etc will happen if the home riders want them to but won't necessarily detract from the entertainment. Wouldn't ever agree with a track being too slick, too grippy, full of ruts or inconsistent though. -
Somerset Rebels Vs Berwick 05/09
Bagpuss replied to drew2's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
The suggestion on here was that the track prep might have been altered after the first half dozen or so heats after which Somerset were much better. All I'm saying is that its their perogative to do that as long as the track is still safe to ride. -
Edinburgh V Sheffield (pl) 5/9/14 @ 7.30pm
Bagpuss replied to Mr Blobby's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
According to a thread in the EL section Worrall is going to rest up over the weekend so he is fit for Swindon's home match on Monday evening. -
Somerset Rebels Vs Berwick 05/09
Bagpuss replied to drew2's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I don't think anybody is calling it cheating, but preparing the track to their own rider's liking is a home team's perogative IMO. As long as the surface is smooth, consistent and safe if course. -

Darren Mallett Announces Immediate Retirement.
Bagpuss replied to Mimmo's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Could have gone much further in the sport but for several nasty injuries early in his career, looked quite a talent at 16 as a Star in the PL. Best wishes to him for the future. -
Easy, tiger! I'm not talking about the TR, I'm no great fan of that tbh, it's the match scoring system to which I refer. Nothing contrived or fiddled about awarding an away team for a good performance.
-
The scoring system is by far the best idea British speedway has come up with in years, keeps many more meetings alive to the end. Got to stay IMO, and not at all complicated for a newcomer to grasp in my experience.

Rebels lots, Bandits few. -
Spot on. Most of this years problems have been caused by a toilet fixture list.

Gorzow Gp-30th August 2014
Bagpuss replied to mickthemuppet's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
If they don't finish in the top eight then the likes of Jonnson, Lindgren & Hampel shouldn't get picks IMO, would prefer to see some fresh faces....THJ & Berntzon if Swedes are required and there are a glut of young Poles. Bjerre should be in the same category if he doesn't get through the challenge. MJJ should be a shoe in, he's a class act. -
King's Lynn V Sheffield (mdl) - 27 August 2014
Bagpuss replied to Mimmo's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
Agreed - Portwood will never be World Champion but is 500% better than a couple of years ago when I last saw him ride. -

Awful crash in heat 1, hope both lads were OK. -

Looks like Benji might get the call after all -
Emil Sayfutdinov 2015
Bagpuss replied to OveFundinFan's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I think there's a good chance that Ford has got his chequebook out and offered Emil some meetings as Poole's insurance policy should Ward get banned. -

Just hope Puk (and everyone else) comes out of this nonsense in one piece. -
Speedway Champions League ?
Bagpuss replied to PolskiZuzel's topic in International World of Speedway
Do you really believe people's dislike of Ford is because of Poole's success? Really? -
Speedway Champions League ?
Bagpuss replied to PolskiZuzel's topic in International World of Speedway
Its called a Champions League for a reason, we've never won the top division so that would be even worse than using ringers. If it gets people through the gate then great but its nothing more than a novelty meeting at the end of the day. -
Speedway Champions League ?
Bagpuss replied to PolskiZuzel's topic in International World of Speedway
And there it is I hope Lynn are nowhere near this pile of poo next year, the whole idea is flawed due to riders representing three or four European teams in the same season.
