  1. Personally I'd only have given Darcy a spot out of those four. Not a lot amongst the three qualifiers and the nominations to freshen the series up much.
  2. I'd like to vouch for Halifaxtiger too, he may have horrendous legs but he is the most genuine, friendly and honest fellow you could wish to meet. Did I mention his legs?
  3. According to Speedway Updates heats 7 & 10 were run with no R/R representative and therefore three riders only.
  4. Unless they are going to put proper amounts of dirt down for every GP round then its a waste of time putting Bomber and Freddie in the series yet again as neither is good enough out of the gate at GP level. With Pepe and Bjarne already in and the golden oldies like Hancock, Gollob and Crump all comfortably finishing top 8 the series for me desperately needs freshening up and putting Bomber, Freddie and Nicki back in just wouldn't do that. Darcy is nailed on for me and THJ has always looked good as a wildcard. If a Brit must be selected then I'd beg Woffinden to reconsider and then probably go for Janowski as the fourth pick, although Zagar should be worth serious consideration too, as should Laguta although perhaps his bridges have been burned for now.
  5. A bit of controversy is usually good for a speedway meeting and adds to the atmosphere and entertainment, but we don't want it getting out of hand. Maybe extra stewards are needed?
  6. Hey, I'm just a fan and as such have no real idea about the financial ins and outs of the club, although I believe that we are lucky enough to have a very, very good main team sponsor. All I know is what we've been told by the promotion. Anything else is purely opinion and guesswork on my part, and I would suggest that as 'shrewd business people' with a healthy fan base and excellent sponsor it would be a backward step to drop back down to PL. Its hard to argue against the view that the EL has been a bit of a political mess this season with the Cov/Pet/Poole squabbling but in terms of simply turning up at the Norfolk Arena for each home meeting and enjoying whats on offer (for a price cheaper than some PL tracks) it been a very, very good year. The club has got its spark back.
  7. Don't agree with that, even if Kenneth and Lasse as expected revert back to P'boro I'm sure Buster will put a competitive side together. PL was good for the first few years but became very stale at Lynn, this season has been like a breath of fresh air. Can only repeat what I've said, all the indications are that we'll be EL again in 2012. I'd certainly not be in favour of dropping back down.
  8. Recent comments from both Buster and Jonathan seem to indicate that Lynn will be staying put next year. I hope we do as the Norfolk Arena has had its buzz back this season and the racing has improved considerably as have attendances. Ignoring the political nonsense which has gone on, moving up to the EL has been a big success IMO.
  9. IMO he's perceived in the same way as Kenneth Bjerre, although of course in a different class at GP level. They are both riders who win the majority of their races from the gate and are therefore seen by many as less exciting. However you know as well as I do that both riders can overtake if the need arises although like any rider they can't do it every time. For me they are more likely to force their way under an opponent in a methodical fashion rather than blasting round the boards while hanging off the bike which may also make people think they are 'boring' compared to Holder, Ward or Bomber for example.
  10. Quite an enjoyable GP with several decent races, but as with most rounds this year it left me frustrated as it could have been better with more dirt down. I'm not a Greg Hancock fan particularly but he's been consistently the best rider throughout this year so fair play to him.
  11. You reckon it would have been any different if they were the other way round? It's GP speedway, not ballet dancing. It was a hard race, they shook hands, move on.
  12. It's very interesting how the Witches moving down and the Stars moving up seems to have benefitted both clubs. General consensus is that crowds are up and the racing better. Hope this continues in 2012
  13. Hopefully the Young Stars can give a good account of themselves, will be particularly interested to see how Lewi Kerr scores tonight as he has really started to blossom recently. I'd suggest that but for his couple injuries this year he'd be getting one or two PL rides by now, not bad for someone who only had his first rides on a speedway bike a little over a year ago.
  14. King Risager Poole Schramm Doolan Blackbird Heeps
  15. Naturally Couldn't agree more on both counts.
  16. There has been some pretty good racing tonight but as usual with the Polish rounds it could have been so much better with a bit more dirt down, such a shame.
  17. Tremendous stuff from Lewis, hopefully he can get some PL rides in 2012
