While undoubtably passionate for me Godfrey's comments are ill advised, the meeting was called off by a referee after all. And isn't Bob Ellis one of the best track men in the business? Worth considering also that weather can affect different tracks in different ways, the Foxhole is quite literally in a hole while Scunny is open to the elements and surely dries out much quicker, and is their drainage not the best around?

Not at all suprised by Stefan's scoring, he's a very talented young fella. -

Plymouth kept that a lot closer than I thought, well done to them for their point. Seems harsh to consider dropping a young Brit but for me the Devils look one rider (ie a half decent number 7) away from being a good side. -

Have to say also that I completely take on board the point that HT makes, the tactical enhanced the excitement of the meeting and that can't be denied. I guess its a balance between excitement and fairness. For me if a home team go ten points down then tough luck. -

I'm not a fan of the tactical rule being permitted for the home team, doesn't seem right that an away side can score 46 legitimate points and still lose. And that's nothing against Sheffield, I'd say exactly the same if it was Lynn in their shoes. -

Maybe we have another Richie Worrall in the making He's our our official number 8 and it'd be nice to see him get a meeting or two when Kozza is on Berwick duty. -
Don't see the problem personally as long as the last rider is named before Kent's first fixture.
-
Any news on the young lad who crashed in heat 4 at Lynn last night? Looked nasty.

While I see your point I think taking the odd guest booking here and there when it suits him is a bit different to what he was referring to in the winter. For me when riders moan about too many meetings (and not all do) its when they have a schedule of 10-12 meetings in a fortnight or whatever across the three leagues and GP's. If Puk was riding in Poland today, Sweden Tuesday, Lynn Wednesday and had a GP on Saturday I bet he'd have turned tomorrow night at Wolves down flat.

Useless and overrated Proctor may be, but he should be scoring more than that at PL level considering his EL average. Makes you wonder about him and Wells, both should be much better in this league. -

Could this be the year Somerset turn a great looking side into league title winners? They appear the stand out side to me. Worth noting that riders like Ellis, Kerr, Jacobs etc will score much better IMO once the NL season starts and they are riding regularly and winning races. -
Robert Lambert National League Next Year?
Bagpuss replied to Damon's topic in National League Speedway
I expect he'll ride for the highest bidder in the EL, he'll be able to name his price. -
I think its about time I got myself along to Leicester to see what its really like. Have been meaning to visit since it opened but haven't got round to it. My guess is that the racing isn't great but not half as bad as some on here make out.

Several EL clubs including my own sell replica shirts. Uniform bike covers are also creeping in to the EL and I think that rider numbers and helmet colours are sufficient for identifying riders.
-
Great to see another PL club using team suits. For me they should be compulsory as they look far more professional than random kevlars with race jackets.

Tai Woffinden
Bagpuss replied to David Haddock's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
He has shown it in the first round, if he can do so over twelve then he'll have proved people wrong and I for one will be delighted. I have him down as fifteenth going by my pre season prediction. Not because I think he is crap but because I struggle to name one rider in the field who looks weaker than him over twelve rounds. Who do you think will finish below him? Just to re-iterate I'll be over the moon if he proves me wrong. If he can replicate yesterday across the whole series he'll finish top eight and that would be an incredible achievement. -

Why shouldn't they? Just like with the EL, somebody will finish top and somebody bottom, and while there's no speedway happening people on here like to pass the time and have a bit of fun by predicting who might finish in those positions. I really don't get why you take predictions so personally. And if you really have to take the mickey out of what people have predicted, at least wait until the end of the season when everything has been decided! -

Tai was excellent but its a little early for 'I told you so' or rubbishing people's predictions. With such a strong field I'd be keeping quiet for a few rounds yet. Very much hope he can maintain that standard though.
