  1. or can he be signed on his current average ? it states noone can be signed on converted avergae before end of may but as the averages were same for both leagues at start of season are they still the same before they work out a conversion ?
  2. im led to believe there will be a conversion for riders dropping down but guess what they havnt worked it out yet ive read this on another thread there going to look at certain riders and see what there scoring in both leagues and try work a conversion rate out at least thats something like ive read here goes ive coppied this from the comets unoffical forum May 11, 2017 at 4:41pm steve said: Brindle, I may have some inside knowledge on this as I am the one who has been tasked with analysing what the conversion rate will be. There will be no official conversion rate until end of May as that is when all the Prem teams will have completed 4H 4A, but I have been analysing scores of riders who ride in both leagues in the team (ie not at reserve), this is currently 16 riders!!! the conversion rate will be considerably lower than 1.4 and I believe until that rate is confirmed no rider will be able to have a converted average.
  3. thats the thing how do we know maybe it is tweaked a bit maybe it isnt but how many gm's go straight on track without being atleast stripped to see if there bolted up right
  4. ill give redcar credit for telling him so many speedway riders find out there getting dropped by the fans or other clubs sometimes getting dropped can be the best thing for some riders as they relax and realise the problem wasnt there equipment but the rider themselves
  5. think i saw him ride at 2 or 3 different tracks and he rode better than was expected to at start off season maybe upped his average a little too much and thats what cost him a team place at start off season bit of a show man aswell so something to entertain the crowd aftewrall the modern speedway era does seam to be missing a few entertainers it was clear danny enjoyed himself and i respect him for that
  6. personaly even though i dont know too much about him danny ayres was unlucky not to get a starting place as last year at start of season he was classed as a bit of a joke signing but in my opinion he did ok and if not wrong rode like everyone knew he could proving he wasnt interested in riding for glasgow week in week out
  7. the first averages are after 4 home and 4 away as far as im aware then they could be monthly after that
  8. must say david howe probably surprised a few tonight didnt look too bad atall after a few meetings hell proably be knocking good points in unless he gets fed up or injured and retires again
  9. but hes 1 off the riders that people class as the ones who should get rides rather than foriegn riders
  10. so dirt in his fuel tank and bent frame swaping parts from 1 bike to the other why the hell did he swap the fuel tank from his bent bike to the spare ?
  11. id love to see adam ride at his best again as he was so good to watch but i agree for the lad to walk away without more injuries would be great i can remember a piece in i think it was the sun newspaper listing all his injuries and it was sickening but hes had a few bad ones since then aswell hope adam can find something to keep him happy and provide a good income for his family
  12. not sure what jims problems are you always know your in for a few restarts when hes intown but also in his defence nice to see him actually pulling up a edinburgh rider away from home for a change its unreal just how many edinburgh meetings he gets
  13. not many sunny days up here in cumbria though dan so ill say hopefully see you up again on race days
  14. i agree 12 minutes is too long but i listed what i thought should be a maximum and by maximum ive given a little leway for times when it is awkward to pick or a rider needs time to repair something or recover from a hard ht 14 unless theres track work or injurys and such like there shouldnt really be a gap of more than 10 mins between heats obviously some tracks take a intervfell for various reasons but this should be kept to a minimum
  15. ive been saying this for years ive actually been at a meeting when it was around 20 mins between heat 14 and 15 personaly 5 mins after heat 14 results are announced the ref should have the word then MAX another 5 mins for them to be either under 2mins warning or under orders last thing you want after a cold night of speedway is to be kept waiting for last heat especially if your team has had a bad night
  16. ah 3rd time for you at workington thought you ment this actual meeting
  17. 3rd time lucky have i missed something weve only had 1 rain off this season as far as i know
  18. ive also wondered if adams not been able to invest in new gear it is hard when your not scoring the points and maybe not much sponsership and also remember adam has a young baby to support its catch 22 cant invest without money and cant improve/be competative without investing in new gear
  19. im not a scorpian fan but just saying nise to see someone who looks down the list and gives credit to the ones scoring 3 or 4 points towards a result far too many judge a TEAM by how many riders score max or paid max's scunthorpe looked poor in the first 2 or 3 heats but adapted better than workington did to the very slick/dusty track they earned there point and at 1 period looked like they were in with a chance of actually turning it into a win
  20. for me the ref got it right in ht 15 earlier i thought riders were jumping starts but then i noticed it was always gate 3 so put it down to really good gates from 3 heat 15 was gate 2 that got a flyer so that was maybe the difference also only other thing the ref was maybe a bit tough not letting parkinson-blackburn push home for the point in ht 8
  21. good win tonight against a strong team like sheffield yes maybe they were a rider down which might have made a difference but the main thing this was a good entertaining meeting not just a comftorble home win
  22. nothing is obvious where I was around 10 miles away it hadn't even looked like rain was coming 100% dry and bright all day so to have a heavy downpour so close anything could have happened I did see photos from Friday mind and it was very wet they done well to get it back to being in with a chance of running Saturday morning
  23. dry where I'm at but hearing reports its raining closer to track no reports of rain off yet mind
  24. weather is much better than forcast ive not had anyword from my friend who will be at derwent park for the rugby so I'm taking that as good news if it was bad this morning he was gonna let me know so I could switch to plan b for todays plans so far I'm still on plan a which is speedway tonight
  25. track is very wet today but had some sunshine and decent wind to help dry things out but a rugby match tomorrow will leave the track staff with little time to work some magic and any afternoon rain will ruin there efforts any more rain and I'm expecting a early rain off
